Ouch, my brain. Finally cracked it after 2 hrs 😅

I didn't realise you could shoot the laser platform floor from the exit room but I solved it by angling the beam so much to the funnel switcher that I could create a portal below the glass room and use the cube in the room to hit the door opener without the funnel taking it away. A solve is still a solve. Playing other Mevious chambers I was not expecting so much white, you are usually channelled down the only woute to solve.

Remember, glass is permeable.

Cool ending setup

This was so much harder than it should have been.

I'm still upvoting because I've enjoyed the challenge, however I have a couple of problems with this map.
First, the blind placement of the cube from below is a bit finnicky, nothing too hard but can be really annoying if messed up and doesn't really feel like the correct solution.
Second, I'm not sure I solved the last step correctly, I did it in the same was as the featured video but it didn't feel right, especially going back to the original platform using the funnel strafe.

Meh.. i make this wayy too hard to myself. :steamfacepalm:

There's an apparent trap in Streamline, where you can wind up on the platform with no funnel to get you off of it, but I discovered that there's a cleverly provided escape!

Look at the thumbnail to see the trap, get yourself into that situation, try to find the escape, and if you can't find it then play the video to see it.

Wow, that last move was so simple in theory but took me a quite a while to see, I think just due to the sheer size of the chamber & the fact that you don't return to the entrance/exit enough to realize what all is visible from there . Well done, thanks for mapping.

I was technically stuck on this chamber for more than a year: every time I came back to Portal 2 I'd give this one a shot, get stuck, and leave. Finally at some point I really thought critically about it, came up with the solution, at felt really good about it. Definitely got me into going through lots community puzzles.

Managed to get it solved by using some gymnastics to get a laser cube next to the emitter to point DOWN toward the portable floor underneath that is visible through the grate from the exit room and the set the other cube so that it would open the door if I favored the laser entry portal to one side and would reverse funnel polarity if I favored the other . don't know why I didn't see the intended solution as it uses the laser through the floor (though for exit not entry) and is much simpler to pull off. getting the cube to point downward and getting the positioning for the portal split was difficult

Having trouble with the final moves? Think like Kirk, not like Khan Another great Mevious creation. Thumbs up.

Loved it!

Excellent test, really forces you to look at the funnel in a different way. Managed to solve as intended.
Nobody No-One 16 Sep, 2018 @ 5:47pm
Fun map with good hammer work. I overcomplicated the method for getting the second cube but solved everything else as intended. Thumbs up.

TThis is a great map, bu tI'l be damed if I can figure out how to get the laser beam into the first room, maybe I'm mising something here. I can get both cubes, and I can get one of them into the first room with the laser detector, but as for the beam itself, no.

My solution... Bit crazy

ankeszu 12 Jul, 2017 @ 4:37am
Awesome :D

I got 2 cubes and stucked. It took me nearly an hour to figure it out and in the end I had few plans in mind, eventually I made it as Zednaught mentioned, making the cube point onto the floor (on laser platform) and the other cube waiting on the other platform pointed at exit-laser catcher. I moved to the below-exit platform, shot to catch the floor laser and then portal it to the reverse catcher (shot the lighted surface!), beam up, shot below the other cube...

I was sure it wasn't the intended solution, but well, worked anyway. And your solution isn't even far from this... just a lot simplier if you haven't accidentally made the cube pointed on the floor - just point it on the other wall you can reach from below-exit...

Brilliant puzzle. Time spent looking where you can shoot a portal when you are stood by the entrance/exit definitely pays off :)

I know I'm a bit late, but here is my take on this map:

WK2Trailhawk 26 Jun, 2016 @ 11:28am
Wow, that was tough. Struggled for days on that last part. I finally got through using an unintended sulution. I redirected the laser emitter through a portal right behind the button which then shot up through the floor of the funnel tube and hit the exit reciever as my final move. Prior to this move I redirected the laser with another cube at the opposite end to hit the reversal reciever. I was able to hit both of these predetermined surfaces from bottom of the funnel area thus reversing directions. Once on top i put a portal at the bottom of the funnel and out popped my laser. . I knew that my solution was not as intended so I watched the walk through just to learn the correct solution. Wow, was I way off the mark. Sometimes I make things more complicated then they need to be but none the less I did make it through. Tough, tough, tough.

This.

Beautiful.

Definitely going to shove sprites on emitters from now on. Beautiful effect.

Great chamber guys!!!! best i played till now in portal 2.
Congrats!
Gerontocracy 21 Feb, 2016 @ 5:20am
Its strange thinking back at all the crazy / impossible ideas I try before coming up with the solution that seem ridiculous once I figure out the actual logical solution. Thanks for making my head hurt a little :-p. Love the puzzles. Thought I was going to go in puzzle withdrawel after talos principle.
N Twirl 18 Feb, 2016 @ 7:24am
Nice work. Still, the whole difficulty of the map is finding out that you can create a portal from the entrance/exit glass room , which is too bad, since it doesn't depend on pure logic.
PewPew*PewPewPew* 17 Jan, 2016 @ 9:49am
Holy shit, it took me 2 hours. Almost crazy. Nice work
tu7650x 29 Dec, 2015 @ 3:10pm
Wow... took me DAYS!! And I hate to say it but I don't think I could have solved it without Woodbeam's red herring hint (yes I peeked.... shame). First puzzle I didn't solve entirely by myself :steamsad:
Petutski 12 Dec, 2015 @ 7:17pm
Whew! Took me hours. The trick is that the floor of the exit platform is a grate and a portal can be shot through it! Great excellent map! Thanks!
ChrisLP 8 Dec, 2015 @ 11:22am
No patience for this crap!!!
tu7650x 2 Dec, 2015 @ 4:16pm
Wow... the hardset puzzle so far! This is kicking my butt even worse than Ben77's Polarity. Never thought that possible... Fluppy, you officially have a new fan! :steamhappy:
Ultimaximus 28 Nov, 2015 @ 5:00pm
Rather than using the fact that you can shoot a portal at a floor while in the exit glass room, the intended solution , my solution had a mirror cube in the exit room, which allowed me to move the laser from the funnel laser receptacle to the door laser receptacle .

That's the jerky sort that makes you think "OMG it's so simple, why didn't I notice that before" after you've spent hours solving it. Lovely. :-)
P.S. Gratz for everybody who didn't spend hours solving this puzzle. ;p
ChuckFar 28 Mar, 2015 @ 7:22pm
MAN that was hard! Nicely done.
zwan33 5 Feb, 2015 @ 1:24pm
@octothorperino: I did the same... Pure desperation!
Woodbeam 17 Jan, 2015 @ 9:28pm
Cruel. This has a massive red herring in the form of the emphasized panel the laser hits by default. I banged my head against the wall thinking it had to be used for a long time, gave up, and saw the walkthrough never used it. I think de-"emphasizing" it would be beneficial, heck, removing it entirely would probably help guide players toward the solution.
Dexter 20 Oct, 2014 @ 5:16pm
I reverced the funnel direction by aiming the cube from below the lazer emitter platform! (to get the second cube)

pic

Thought I was being cleaver as didnt need that button, but I did need that walkthrough to get out!
Talisac 19 Sep, 2014 @ 1:29pm
Nice map. My solution was a bit.. messy but... heh, that worked the same way.

Waifumancer 13 Aug, 2014 @ 12:49pm
I solved it, but it was probably really really unfair. I got myself and one of the cubes into the final chamber with the other shooting a laser into the receiver, and then I nudged the cube with the bare floor I could see and the gravity on push for 10 minutes until I got the laser going through the glass wall into the final chamber.
lool 6 Jul, 2014 @ 12:24am
nice!! my favorite!! actually the solution was pretty easier than i expected. i think you should get rid of some useless walls that make distraction
joe 23 Jun, 2014 @ 8:54am
Very hard. Kept going until my head was bleeding and then gave up I did not release I could see the left ground floor from the exit platform which gives you the control to switch laser cube and hence point to the exit release nightmare!
ArgleBargle 16 Jun, 2014 @ 12:07am

I completely ignored using that wall to get myself over to the exit , which what GraveNoX was able to figure out in his solution video. I figured out how to get the two cubes, just didn't think to use that wall. Why not use light strips as subtle hints, kind of like how you did with the main picture where the portal is placed, redirecting the blue excursion funnel?

I think I figured out why I never thought to do that! I solved getting the second cube, at 1:33 in your solution video, a different way, using the ceiling portal surface and an orange reverse funnel! I just moved the cube with the orange funnel, which then turned into a blue funnel and moved it onto the button. Then funneled myself over there as normal at 1:26.

Other than that, nice challenging puzzle!
lfairban 18 May, 2014 @ 11:44am
OK, went back and did it the right way. Why did I not see that earlier?
