Well, there is AMMO_TYPE_GRENADELAUNCHER, that has a 30 round reserve and stumbles all Special Infected, even Tanks and Witches and reduces the Common Infected into giblets in a rather non-explosive manner.

30 is six times less than 180, so the damage should logically be six times higher. 105 * 6 = 630, which should be enough to one-shot a Charger.

Then maybe drop the reserve down to 40 or 30 (im thinking anti material levels of damage like .50 cal and up)

If you install it on your server, I suppose yes. On somebody else's server this will naturally not work.

I only know that their ammo reserve numbers can be changed via gamemodes.txt

Special properties like gibbing and stuff must be hard coded.

True it would be perfect to treat Scout and AWP as Tier 1 sniper counterparts. But in default Value script they are Tier 2 and in some games I played they replaced Tier 2 weapons in random caches.

By the way do you know where are the ammo properties in game file? I did some testing like changing assault rifle's ammo type to minigun ammo and it gibs common every time, and changing shogun's ammo type to pistol magnum causes it to lose the point blank bonus damage.

Things like pistol magnum ammo, m60/minigun ammo instant kills or gibs common must be done by some ammo scripts associate to each ammo types.

Well, I've always seen bolt action rifles as Tier 1, sort of. It makes sense as they're similar to shotguns in this regard: slow, manual action guns are T1, while semi autos are T2.

Since I'm sticking to default Valve values and options, I cannot get too much damage without getting too gimmicky and outlandish. Even here, I used autoshotgun ammo pool with its properties such as death animations and extra point blank damage, just to lower it to 90.

With the new 210 damage per shot the Scout has a DPS of 233.3, while the Hunting Rifle or Military Rifle has a DPS of 360, roughly a 50% difference. Value really needs to re-balance it consider it's classified as "Tier 2" thus can replace any Tier 2 spawns.

Maybe keep it's Clip Size or Sniper Rifle Ammo, even with double damage it's DPS is still roughly half of a Hunting Rifle or Military Rifle.
