I've been wanting to do a lot of things with the spawnmenu and context menu in terms of enabling and disabling it, but I was never able to figure any of them out.

Maybe I will one day and something will happen with that.

I'm pretty sure that's just part of how it works. Facepunch took the code verbatim from Half-life 2, I just added an easy-to-use button to turn it on or off. I don't think there's anything I can do about it from here, and even if there was I don't know how.

There are, however, alternative mods for the weapon that add it as a separate SWEP. Maybe one of those will work better:

I... have no idea? This mod shouldn't be able to interact with NPC-related things unless the difficulty changes it?

@indeepj, If you've played Half-life you know what it's supposed to do.

The setting is ported directly from Half-life 2, but Garry gutted the code that makes it work a while back, so it doesn't do anything.

I left the option in, in case the code gets reimplemented or just starts working again for whatever reason.
