Yeah, I had that idea too. Because of the size of the collision planes, or maybe because of the intersection of some internal game cells in some cases, something doesn't connect, and part of the building becomes unavailable for construction.
I should have made them smaller, closer to the size of the Ancient Labs.
I didn't put invisible collisions there, so if the ramp navmesh is connected to the ground navmesh, I guess so.
And I'm not talking about building furniture inside - the navmesh is SOOO bugged I can't even walk my characters to get to the highest floor.
Damn shame, really hope somebody gives this gem some love and manages to get it fixed. Cuz the pyramids look just soooo damn awesome, would really love to move in^^.
I even redid the whole mod from scratch. Models, collisions, FCS.
Checked everything several times.
Construction worked just fine.
And when I made the final screenshots before posting it to workshop, I placed two pyramids next to each other. In one the construction worked, in the second one it didn't.
After that moment I just gave up.
Yep.
I was never able to trace the cause of this bug, even when I redid all the models and collisions from scratch.
Yes.
As long as you don't forget to credit me as original author with links to my mods.
It's hard to remember exactly since it's been a long time, but I do remember making a patch where I reduced the cost of building turrets in order to put them in normal mode without having any resources.
I did not add nodes for the turrets so that you can choose the position for them yourself.
The interior of the topmost floor (small room) is not viewable because technically it is already the roof of the building and "disable walls" feature is not supported for it.
But the platform must be accessible in any case - the characters must enter it through the stairs, and you can build turrets on it normally, just by choosing a place.
This, of course, if another bug has not happened there.
I was never able to fix all the problems, even reworking the mod with all models and collisions from scratch and making a completely separate version.
(I didn’t even publish it because of this. Imagine my frustration when I took screenshots of the new interior for publication and found that I couldn't build anything on the second floor of the pyramid, like in the previous version).
Again, I shall try building a new pyramid to see what happens. This is a buggy, fiddly game and that is part of the reason I love it. The roughness shows just how ambitious and unique the vision for the game was and is.
But placing only turrets should work.
At least that's how it was for me.
But here there may be the same bug as with the inability to build on the 2nd floor and above. Which occurs randomly, which may not be repeated in two neighboring pyramids, and which I could not resolve.
Your pyramid is cool
Yes.
Your pyramid is cool
This is a very unstable bug, and I was not able to track down and fix it, even redoing the entire mod from scratch.
Make a save before building the pyramid, build it, and if there is a bug, reload and try again.
Possible mod conflict. That's all I can suggest here.
If only I knew what exactly is causing this bug.
In the new version, which I did for 3 weeks, everything is exactly the same as in the old one.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
Use arrow buttons near building name.
Cant build inside the blue pyramid second floor , it says too close to another building.
The origin of this bug is unknown for me.
It has been preserved even in the new version, which I made practically from scratch.
Moreover, this error occurs by chance - in one pyramid, construction is impossible, while in another, standing nearby, everything is OK.
