This mod is nice and useful.

Deleted my question because I discovered that yes you do need to create a new game for the mods to work.

Oh wow. I made this forever ago when I last was playing Zomboid. Thanks for the award years after the fact. Lol.

Sorry that this is stale and doesn't work as well anymore. I will be back playing when Build 42 releases and will make in-depth mods then.

for ppl still struggling to make this the recipe is under Survivalist tab :
Paperclip
Duct Tape/Adhesive Tape
Machete/Scissors/Hunting Knife/Kitchen Knife/Letter Opener/Meat Cleaver/Scalpel

currently still working

adhesive tape or duct tape?

After trying to use this in a wilderness game I found out you can't use a stone knife in the recipe. After looking through the file I found out that the problem is that you called it a StoneKnife instead of its file name, which is FlintKnife. Same thing with the Handaxe, which should be called HandAxe.

seems legit! thank for your answer

@ribzerr The tape serves two purposes.
The first is making it easier to use the needle while sewing because twisting the paperclip onto itself like you mentioned would cause a rough edge/blockly surface that would snag on the fabric that you were sewing on each pass of the needle and thread. Which would be pretty annoying I would imagine and would limit the usefulness of the needle.
The second is that both DuctTape and StochTape have the same item find chance in the games distribution tables. So you are essentially swapping out one uncommon item for another which makes it an equal exchange. This, importantly, keeps the vanilla spirit/feel because you don't get an important item for free, but for the trade off of maybe not being able to repair a weapon at a critical moment.

good idea, thanks for the mod. however i dont really see how relevant it is to use tape, with a paperclip you can make a loop and tighten it by twisting, sharpening one end should be enough, dont you think ? thank you again anyway :spiffo:
