They look about as similar as Halo 4's Mark V does to Halo CE's. I know the guy who made this model and I can tell you for a fact it was not based on Halo 5's design.

It's supposed to be like the Mark VI helmet crossed with Doomguy's, or something from Quake, because it's from a mod that combines Halo with the designs of "old school arena shooters".
