Will you ever update your civs again, Hiram? :(
anastasia 17 Dec, 2014 @ 5:49pm
Mr Stalin, that's not windows 8. The problem with windows 8 is that you can't download civ fantics. You need to turn DLC on and off I think ,it refreshes the mod list (worked for me)
Jake Leg (Squirrel Barrel) 22 Sep, 2014 @ 5:28pm
is there an accurate direct download? the link posted is out dated and goes to nothing

silver shield pikemen :3
brian.ab 20 May, 2014 @ 1:24am
I wanted to add that the main force of the selucids were pikemen not the traditional hoplite spearmen. The unique unit should be a pikemen replacement.
brian.ab 20 May, 2014 @ 1:21am
And what about the Selucid silver shields? And the indian armoured elephants? And the cataphracts?
The selucids employed all of them. For silver shields, first they were full pikemen, the main force of the selucids, then swordsmen roman legion style before their fall to the roman empire. For indian war elephants the selucids actually breed them for their armies. As for cataphracts they took that style of cavalry unit from the parthians recognizing its merits.

As for the nation instead selucid leaders created a lot of hellenic settlements in the empire, trying to hellenize the population, again for the armies and internal peace, they were however a very multiculural nation, and they inherited a huge chunk of alexanders empire specifically the former persian (far eastern and middle eastern) lands and the shatrapies were the empires vassals.

For unique ability and unit I would look there. Sorry for being a smartass. :)

does this work on a osx to? or only windows.. because i dont get it on my civ :(
SuperGrover 4 May, 2014 @ 9:03pm
I agree with CIA's comments on it being overpowered. Another nice bit of artwork from Janboruta.
Rellek 2 Apr, 2014 @ 1:59am
I personally would have picked the Silver Shields, Armored Elephants, or Cataphracts for their unique unit.

the mirror and steam downloads don't work
Fresk 20 Mar, 2014 @ 9:00pm
hey just a quick question but are you going to do civ's for the other diadochi? Lysimachus, Ptolemy, Antigonus, Kassander?
𒄑𒉈𒂵𒈩 18 Mar, 2014 @ 6:41pm
Far too OP. Remove the Food OR Happiness OR Production bonus. I recommend Barracks providing +1 Food & +1 Production in first 4 cities.

I've attempted to import custom models in the past but no success and much fustration with it. Unfortunately I don't have to time to spend hours trying to get them to work because of other commitments. I ususally don't pay too much attention to the unit models when I'm playing so I don't see it as a pressing issue.
purnis 17 Mar, 2014 @ 4:53pm
It would be nice if the Thoraikitai had a new model. Kindaannoying that it's the same as a normal spearman.

I caan not download it !!!!! WHY??
TheDefenestrator 15 Mar, 2014 @ 5:49am
Since you can own Brave New World without having Gods and Kings, it probably should be in the requirements so people aren't frustrated or misled.
Carolus Rex 13 Mar, 2014 @ 6:19pm
I do not have the G&K Expansion and I did not know it was required.
Hiram  [author] 13 Mar, 2014 @ 5:37pm
To people reporting the missing dependencies error: are you using Gods and Kings as well? That is also required (implied).
Maciel 13 Mar, 2014 @ 3:22pm
Good job! Awesome faction from Rome II !!!
Carolus Rex 12 Mar, 2014 @ 12:16pm
I have BNW yet it says that it is missing dependencies.
Hiram  [author] 12 Mar, 2014 @ 1:16am
Yes.
Notsobam 11 Mar, 2014 @ 7:56pm
Does it require brave new worlds?
Moo Zedong 10 Mar, 2014 @ 8:12pm
I personally think this civ is fairly balanced. UA is good, but surely not the best. UU is alright, not all too strong. UB is good. Nothing seems OP at all. I think people over react.
Athough putting the UB into the context of history, it makes sense for it to retain maintenance costs and lead to financial disaster, as you have said.
Hiram  [author] 10 Mar, 2014 @ 8:09pm
If I reduced the maintenance cost on the Seleukeion they might become, dare I say it, "OP". The empire collapsed due to the costs of over expansion so the maintenance cost kind of fits well.
Moo Zedong 10 Mar, 2014 @ 7:29pm
Looks good! I like what you've done with courthouse, seems pretty handy, but I don't think its quite good enough. The main problem I have with courthouses is this high maintenance cost. Seems to me like the Seleukeion should have a lower if not non existant maintenance cost to make it a truly valuable unique building. Still, it seems pretty useful anyway.

Place Parthia in the place of their first capital Nisa (which is in modern-day Turkmenistan). Fun times will ensue.
Bubblegum 9 Mar, 2014 @ 1:11pm
@Krajzen couldnt it be both seleucid and parthia? (Just place parthia on the south of the steppes, and give them a few horseman so they can conquer the seleucids!)
Bubblegum 9 Mar, 2014 @ 1:09pm
nice! I was going to do later a seleucid civ too, now it seems i dont have to!
Hiram  [author] 9 Mar, 2014 @ 5:24am
I too am a bit of a peace-lover, haha. When I do an update I'll see about fixing the wording of the UA a bit.
Teddyk 9 Mar, 2014 @ 4:33am
"in cities where they are built." Unneeded part (you could add instead detailed info about food and happiness values).
Anyway, I am gonna give it a try despite the Courthouse replacement (not really fitting my gameplay).

:)
Krajzen 9 Mar, 2014 @ 3:05am
Awesome :D

However, now I have dilemma - which civ should be in the East in the rise of Rome scenario (III century BC) - Parthia or Seleucid Empire? :(
