So loving the mod by the way, is there anyway to turn off the ai flashing their lights?
vvrcic1 28 dec. 2024 la 4:11
hmm not really sure then
madman  [autor] 28 dec. 2024 la 3:37
@vvrcic1
The game default also not actually centered. It's about 3° wider on the left rather than the right. It "looks" centered due to the way it's lightmap drawn. This mod only increase 2° wider on the left, to help recognize a darker company's gate or entrance across the road when you have to turn left.
vvrcic1 26 dec. 2024 la 22:25
I seem to get a lot more on the left hand side than the right, might be the way I have my game setup but as a personal preference I don't like it not being even must be an ocd thing lol.

But I don't get it with defaulting lights so who knows?
madman  [autor] 21 dec. 2024 la 21:06
@vvrcic1
It's okay. Just let you know an update to the mod is available with new adjustments to the range and high beam's visibility.
vvrcic1 21 dec. 2024 la 16:12
I will stick with default fov by scs thanks, at least I can see vehicles in with the dimmed headlights in chevron range, I can jump in my van/car in rl and have perfect vision in dimmed mode.

Dont know why you think its normal to have such restrictive vision but each to their own.
madman  [autor] 20 dec. 2024 la 6:57
@vvrcic1
As I told you before, every game updates often change any small parts of the lighting system. Sometimes they're less noticeable, and these changes not documented anywhere even at dev's change log notes. I'm still working on it and should be available soon.
vvrcic1 19 dec. 2024 la 3:41
So my pov of lights range is very low now, for example I cannot see traffic in front of me until im one chevrons distance from his bumper, even the high beam doesnt go past this range either...

Something feels a bit off?
vvrcic1 30 nov. 2024 la 15:41
yeah true, it actually seems fine now after doing a few jobs with it.
madman  [autor] 30 nov. 2024 la 15:07
@vvrcic1
Make it darker a little bit will bring it closer to the original game's headlight, causing this mod no longer relevant to the "Brighter" word in it's title. :)

Back in the old days where no new lighting system yet and there's always pitch black at night, people need a more wider headlight beam so they are able to see both sides more clearly on cornering. I will consider to narrowing the beam to reduce the over bright light from both sides.
vvrcic1 30 nov. 2024 la 6:51
Right so I tested it again and it seems to be a little better, personally I probably would prefer a tad darker but not by much to be honest...I think my only real gripe is the excess light coming from the left light over the right but a great mod non the less.
vvrcic1 30 nov. 2024 la 6:11
I ran the mod after the 1.53 update and it was too bright that was 24 hours ago. Ill test again today .
madman  [autor] 30 nov. 2024 la 1:10
@vvrcic1
Adapting lighting system's small changes in 1.53. Hopefully we got more stable light updates once SCS introduce new game engine support for DX12, Vulkan, and Proton.
vvrcic1 30 nov. 2024 la 0:41
@madman it has been changed in the last 12 hours?
madman  [autor] 29 nov. 2024 la 23:14
@vvrcic1
Low and high beam has been reduced by 20%. Enjoy. :steamhappy:
vvrcic1 29 nov. 2024 la 11:45
Great mod but just too bright for me, its pretty much a main beam now to a point where every ai vehicle is flashing me.
Needs reducing a little if I am honest, Ill keep it subscribed and check back on occasion but for me its not something I can run in my mods in its current version.
LEM 21 nov. 2024 la 7:34
@madman
Yes, that is what I am referring to!
That would be awesome.
madman  [autor] 20 nov. 2024 la 11:37
@LEM
No need to use the reverse light for such a purpose. We can add beam lights to the side markers attached in the trailer. Like this one:

Great mod.

Would it be possible that besides using the reverse Key to turn the reverse lights on, could the reverse lights also be turned on by using the Key letter O (beacon) or any other Key when moving forward? It would help when driving in dark areas that are tight or making turns in such dark areas. Just a suggestion.

Regards,
madman  [autor] 25 oct. 2024 la 21:06
@kanth_f1
I made some changes on them. These lights illuminate depend on their distance into tarmac and other surfaces.
kanth_f1 20 oct. 2024 la 9:39
The headlight flares now as you mentioned are reduced, but the flares from the turn signals and even brake lights have gone, only a small bit of the flare of the brake light is seen through the truck mirrors from the cabin view or the outside view, but the turn signals don't show any flares reflected on the tarmac just like the brake lights, both from the cabin view and outside view.
madman  [autor] 19 oct. 2024 la 21:29
@kanth_f1
The mod has been updated for a small reworking to the turn signals, in the hope they are more noticeable now. Let me know if you find something not right at certain situation. The brightness of headlight flares are now also reducing and less bleeding.
kanth_f1 17 oct. 2024 la 12:35
Thanks for the reply, and yea if the turn signals are taken care of, it would be fine, can bear with the haziness of the traffic headlights, not much to bother there, just informed to let you know about it.
madman  [autor] 17 oct. 2024 la 9:42
@kanth_f1
SCS always do a small things to their lighting system from time to time, and this also affected to their updates. I'm not sure but perhaps they do some internal benchmarks and adjustments to their new DirectX 12 and Vulkan rendering engine. I will do small changes about the turn signals on next mod update. Any suggestion about the rest?
kanth_f1 17 oct. 2024 la 9:20
After the 1.51 update, I have noticed that the headlight flares from traffic is more hazy, more noticeable during night, also the brake lights are fine with its flares noticeable through the mirrors, but the same can't be said about the turn signals as they are not that noticeable through the truck mirrors as much as the brake lights, in fact it isn't that bright even from the outside view camera, the brake lights are more brighter than the indicators, is it a change from the new version of the game?
madman  [autor] 31 aug. 2024 la 19:37
@HolyBacon
The older version of Pinga Peterbilt 389 mods still share the same folder and parts with stock SCS Pete 389 (which is ashamed as paid mod). It seems since game version 1.50 he decides to make it standalone apart from the stock ones, which is causing this beam light mod no longer work with his. Unfortunately I can't add paid modded truck support to this mod unless the author has a free version uploaded to the workshop or he explicitly grand written permission and provides required assets.
HolyBacon 31 aug. 2024 la 9:26
The front lights doesnt work, onlu reverse. I am using Pingas Peterbilt mod too. The wierd things is that a few months ago this mod worked just fine with Pingas mod...?
madman  [autor] 2 iun. 2024 la 17:12
@drew_bras
This mod is a "standard" version, where emulating most lights that emitted using light map textures to keep graphics performances. The appearance may be "dull" as of the original game.

If you allow sacrificing few frame rates, you can subscribe the mod extension named "Low Beam Headlight Extension" for a better lighting and put it on top of this mod in Mod Manager.

drew_bras 29 mai 2024 la 7:06
Thank you very much for the mod. The high beam is beyond praise, but the low beam illuminates well only on light asphalt; on dark asphalt nothing is visible at all, just black emptiness and barely visible road markings. And a couple of meters just under the headlights is slightly illuminated. It is very difficult to turn anywhere right or left with low beams on, you can’t see anything.
BasseMan2016 22 mart. 2024 la 23:51
het this is with scs trucks and driving at midnight thx for write back to me :steamhappy:
madman  [autor] 22 mart. 2024 la 7:33
@BasseMan2016
Headlight beam barely seen during dusk and dawn. If you have another light mod, put my mod at the top most list of mod manager. If you are using modded truck, my mod may not support it. Anything else than that, verify game files in case there are corrupt game file assets. Create a new profile for test purpose (you can delete it later) and see if problem still persist while hauling quick job at night.
BasseMan2016 21 mart. 2024 la 2:20
Hey I have almost no light when I drive with low beam do you have any idea what is wrong?:steamhappy:
madman  [autor] 20 nov. 2023 la 11:51
@Crazytrain334
If you can't disable bloom through 'uset g_bloom "0"' command, you can try to reduce brightness and increase contrast on your monitor control panel (affect global appearances), or reduce gamma level on the ATS graphics settings (affect in-game only, but may causing night driving looks darker). Also consider to calibrate your monitor. Otherwise you probably need a monitor with OLED or AMOLED panel to help reduce color bleeding which is misbehave as "bloom".
Crazytrain334 20 nov. 2023 la 10:55
well the bloom is still in the game naturaully madman doesnt matter if they discontinuted it it has natural bloom in the game which hurts my eyes
madman  [autor] 20 nov. 2023 la 6:36
@Crazytrain334
Yes, this mod still works and has been updated to 1.49. This mod doesn't actually change HDR and Bloom. SCS discontinued HDR support several years ago. It seems that the bloom effect is also starting to be abandoned or reduced over time, especially after the new lighting system introduced since version 1.40.
Crazytrain334 19 nov. 2023 la 19:18
hey madman does this still work ? also can you do a no hdr bloom ?
madman  [autor] 27 aug. 2023 la 11:12
@nicky9499
Press the developer console mode activation key, default is ~ (tilde) key. Search Google on how to enable developer console in ATS. Drag the console command window to the center of the screen. Press a triangle symbol on "Tonemap Debug" window to "minimize" it and drag it to the left/top screen edge so it won't obscure game view. Press ~ (tilde) key again to close developer console mode.

To revert back and disable Tonemap debug: Press ~ (tilde) key. Uncheck "Disable Tonemap" on "Tonemap Debug" window. Click "Rendering" menu on top of the screen and click "Tonemap Debug" menu option (uncheck it). Press again ~ (tilde) key to close developer console mode.
nicky9499 27 aug. 2023 la 10:06
uset r_tonemap_debug "2"

After entering above command into console, the debug window cannot be closed even after game reload and restart! How do I get rid of it!!
madman  [autor] 4 aug. 2023 la 1:46
@BunnyBear35
Yes. However it's not fully tested yet with the new W900 Tuning Pack DLC.
BunnyBear35 3 aug. 2023 la 17:04
is this compatible with 1.48
madman  [autor] 6 febr. 2023 la 5:50
@Jeff A
Please try to move my mod to the top most order in the Mod Manager's list, and see if that solve the problem. The "bug" you've mentioned usually caused by outdated mod that actually not support game version 1.40 and newer.
Jeff A 5 febr. 2023 la 18:33
I still have flashers that r buggy...When on, they bounce and make a halo...Plz fix!
crashtestdummy 27 oct. 2022 la 19:11
Anyone noticing secondary lighting to not show up at all? Blinkers and brake lights are casting nearly no lighting effects reflected off the ground or surfaces (the actual lights still work). I can't even see any lighting in the mirrors except beacons (I use a modded lightbar, I forget the name of the mod) and reverse lighting...trailer lights and blinkers all cast very little reflective lighting. I'll try messing with some of the Tips and Tricks methods, but I'm pretty sure this started with 1.46 for me, not just when I started using this mod, so unsure if it's really from the mod itself or if there is something going on with 1.46. I'm driving a Kenworth W900 btw.
madman  [autor] 2 aug. 2022 la 18:09
@COMANDO_BH
Turn on the high beam then. :)
High beam not just gives more beam intensity to the headlight, but also activate your additional front and roof headlights (press F4 for light setting).
COMANDO_BH 2 aug. 2022 la 14:31
I think the lights are still weak... :(
Spindoc 19 mai 2022 la 11:13
The bloom tip alone was worth the price of admission - your mod is just gravy :steamthumbsup:
madman  [autor] 10 mai 2022 la 18:34
Support for game version 1.44 is ready. Enjoy. :)
Burp Reynolds 6 apr. 2022 la 2:27
Does load order matter because this ain't doing isht.
wullack 26 nov. 2021 la 12:44
A big THANK YOU from me as well. I'm playing this game for a few years now and this is by far and wide the best headlight mod I've seen. Driving at night is a pleasure again thanks to this mod. :104:

Thank you madman, this is the best balanced light mod you can get in the games ETS2 / ATS. That’s exactly how it should be in the game because that’s the closest thing to reality. Other mods that change the light are exaggerated so that you no longer need a high beam because they are simply not well balanced. Here you can simply find what you could want from good light conditions and not only with your own low / high beam! But also the AI traffic and the reversing light. Thank you very much to „madman“ for the best light mod 2021.
10/10 Stars
