That also means that you being subscribed to it, you must uncheck it as a mod when loading the launcher!

Gobbles, have you uploaded it to your server, loaded is as a server mod and have made sure that non of the people connecting to your server have the mod installed?(Including yourself)

Hi Fallen, it's Winchester, I'm on my girlfriend's account. I tried to install through the addons and mod folder and the server crashed. This other way of installing servermod is not compatible with the host my server is hosted on. They support mod, but I contacted them, and they said that unfortunately the site does not provide the file that has the "servermod" line. So the only alternative I found to have this mod working on my server would be trying to put it in the server's modpack. If you allow me to put it in the modpack to test, I would definitely leave the credits to you, unfortunately I believe that there is no other way to have this mod installed on my server, which is a shame since its function is very interesting. If you don't allow it, that's fine, I'll understand.

Hi Winchester, you have to install it as a servermod. Make sure it isn't loaded on your main game. It hasn't been updated for a long time and you may need to do research on how to run servermods on dayz 2023. Make sure it's servermod not the normal mod launching.

Hello, I've tried to install the mod in several ways and it never works, it always crashes the server. Can I try including it in my server's modpack to see if it works?

Anyone downloading this mod make sure once you have installed it on your server make sure that you un-check to load the mod on your client when you boot Dayz up. Otherwise it won't work seen as it is an server mod. If you get a PBO error it is because you have loaded it on your client.

Barlow, that's because his method to tweak the settings won't do anything at all. I'm really not sure why he thinks it will affect anything without being repacked... Config.cpp is meant to be IN a PBO.

Hey Fallen, I've experimented with settings in TACM/Addons/core/config.cpp. I've gone all the way down to strength = 1 and external_multiplier = 0, and the behavior seems identical.

However, when I repack the /core/ folder into a PBO that replaces core.pbo, the variables function.

For starters, Strength = 1 and external_multiplier = 0 seems to have a comically short effective radius. I'll do some more testing and see what a variety of settings do.

This is an amazing mod. Relatively simple, high impact, brings a whole new level of difficulty to DayZ.

But it won't enhance an already-existing experience on its own without issue. Server owners need to balance number and strength of zombies against their newfound ability to seek out the player. This is normal and expected for elements that greatly change the user experience.

Some things to be aware of:
With the stock settings, bears are much more aggressive. I see this as an absolute win since bears are normally rather clueless.
Animals will flee from players from hundreds of meters away. This is less great and I'm currently tweaking the settings to find the right balance of zombie seeking, bear anger, and retained ability to harvest wildlife.

No it doesn't, all you need is to change the values iv said about and then relaunch your server. It will effect it without any form of compiling. Just try putting the multiplier to 0 and then just using shot you will then be able to mimic the shot sound effect and change at a normal distance what can be heard. Try anything below 300 then 200 then 100 and you should achieve what you want

Dear iKR0GH I will post a tutorial tomorrow in the description on how to correctly configure distance with the mod. It is easy enough to get to grips with if you change the shot firstly down o say 200 and multiplier to 20 you will see around 1/4th the distance that zombies with come and find you from the original. I have work today so I have little time

They go active search normally running towards you however they will go into aggressive state if they see you
