Report a translation problem
This model was made before the $colortint_base automatically wrote to the material overrides and that step doesn't have to be done anymore. Just add an override materials to the dapper, send it through to the element viewer then expand the material you're painting and use the $colortint_base swatch to change the stripe color.
Has Steam been hiding this from me?
I always use a purple dapper in my soldier loadout, so whenever I attempt to make a poster with it I check to see if someone's fixed the dapper... never found any results until this came up on the front page of the workshop... what even?
