Hi all, thanks for your input. I added air filters in parallel to the induction system which should keep the engine from stalling when wind is coming from behind. It also should reduce top speed due to decreased ram air pressure and therefore reduced peak engine power. Engine may stall sometimes but should be able to restart by itself. This is a simple workaround and I only did a short test run with the ship.
JACKTHEGR8T 26 Jun, 2024 @ 9:09pm
boat keeps randomly stalling any easy fix?
mikichii 21 Jun, 2024 @ 11:32pm
@Harms I managed to apparently fix said issue on my end. The air scoops on top, I also made them face towards the rear. In addition, I added some fluid pumps just in case. After messing around and noticing the engine stall on me when I head with the wave/wind, if I remember correctly from yesterday. However, seems to work now though and even cranked up weather settings to stress test, seems good.

What I described in my last comment happened to me again with really low waves so I decided to investigate - without really knowing what I'm doing.
I slapped pressure sensors to the air intake pipes and noticed a pressure drop to 0 - that's also when the engines went out.

I added small pumps to both intake systems right near the engines which only partially helped so I moved them way further up to the intakes. Haven't had the engines shutting off again since.

Replacing the scoop intakes by one of the other variants might have worked as well without pumps but I like their looks :D

Hi, I'm glad you enjoy it! A possible cause is when the ship is under water for longer periods of time. The air intake of the engines and generator is on top of the roof. In really rough seas the roof can be under water for most of the time because of the high waves, so the engines can not run and the control unit wants to restart them over and over until the battery is drained empty. Due to it's relatively small size, this ship is unfortunately not really suited for the high seas in rough weather. You could try to go fast to use momentum to carry you along or switch the engines off and wait for the worst weather to pass.

Thanks for this nice ship!
I started using it yesterday but noticed that the engines would go out in rough seas and had trouble starting again (you could hear the starter trying over and over until successful eventually).

Unfortunately, I'm not competent enough yet to locate the source of that.
Do temperatures below freezing point play a role? Do I need to heat the engine room?
Beda  [author] 27 May, 2024 @ 7:23am
Hi, thanks for your feedback. I added ventilation to all compartments.
GideonA9 24 May, 2024 @ 6:35am
when you have the bilge pumps on it pulls a vacuum. you just have to open the door
Beda  [author] 8 Mar, 2024 @ 10:04am
Thanks for the information! I adapted the drive train to the altered physics and the ship is usable again with decreased overall performance. Top speed in calm waters is now 55 to 65 knots depending on fuel mass onboard. Higher speeds are possible when small waves are present, but the engines are still designed to cut power at around 75 knots. I also did some minor updates as stated in the change log.
Walker_TR2 5 Mar, 2024 @ 2:52pm
any updates now that things seem to have somewhat settled down?
Beda  [author] 18 Nov, 2023 @ 2:40pm
Hi! Yes, the space update broke the whole propulsion system. I'd like to fix the ship, but I'm honestly not sure if the physics stay like they are now. With every Stormworks "fix" the ship behaves differently. But at least it's not sinking anymore. I concluded that the water jets are broken right now and it makes no sense for me to try and repair the ship. Sorry for the disappointment.
Pull 18 Nov, 2023 @ 10:03am
doesnt seem to work atm is this because of the new update?
Beda  [author] 7 Oct, 2023 @ 11:27am
From the bridge go downstairs and on your right there is a display for the controls on the wall. I think you have to turn it on with the power button first.
Bas9k 6 Oct, 2023 @ 12:46pm
Where is heating?
Mike 25 Jun, 2022 @ 10:07pm
Can somebody specify where in the engine room the battery circuits are at?
RubenGoulart 12 Feb, 2022 @ 12:39pm
One of my fav! i just added the parts that dont exist any more (gearbox and radar) and it is one of my favourite mods ever
Beda  [author] 6 Sep, 2021 @ 1:15pm
Thanks, I'm glad you like it!
VanillaGorilla5K 6 Sep, 2021 @ 12:53pm
This is an amazing boat. Exactly what I was looking for.
Beda  [author] 26 Aug, 2021 @ 9:16am
Okay folks, I finally fixed the performance issue. It looks like the fluid ports flow rate got limited, so I adapted the intake on the engines and they seemingly perform as before. I also added the graphical beacon locator by kyaace and replaced the old map screen with it. Also there is a second medical bed available as the central room was reorganised and I made some other minor changes. I hope you can enjoy the ship again! If you find any bugs, please leave a comment.
Beda  [author] 14 Jun, 2021 @ 9:24am
So I started Stormworks today and wanted to play with this ship a bit. I noticed I can't even reach 65 knots now and I don't know why as I've not changed anything for months. I guess some update changed something and I've unlisted the ship for now. Sorry.

Hi, I'm glad you are enjoying it but I don't plan to do a hydrofoil version. I also did the mainland-arctic trip multiple times for testing purposes. Respect for doing it with maximum wind speed, as in the high waves of the deep sea it's difficult to keep this rather small ship on course.
Archangel777 1 Apr, 2021 @ 12:42pm
man this thing is a dream, and chance of a hydrofoil variation with increased range, i do some serious stress testing of craft, mainly high seas at max wind, and going from the arctic airfield to the lowest point of the mainland without stopping to refuel, its time consuming for a journey but if done right it pays off

Select custom when making a new world, then when your in the world hit the button that brings up the creative commands (For me It's i) and do what you want!
Dogo Doge 19 Mar, 2021 @ 12:40pm
hey guys how do i get creative mode to work?
im on the newest version and just started playing
plz help im a noob
Beda  [author] 5 Mar, 2021 @ 8:39am
Thank you, I'm glad you like it.
454SS 4 Mar, 2021 @ 2:01pm
Beautiful build, a real work of art :)
Beda  [author] 3 Mar, 2021 @ 8:07am
Hi, I am not planning to make a trailer. If you need one, surely you can find a flatbed truck or train car on the workshop that will fit.
Jotaro 3 Mar, 2021 @ 3:27am
its to high to be transported on roads
UnknownGhost 3 Mar, 2021 @ 2:43am
True it gots to try since it’s not large but it’s not small too so it will be sketchy
Jotaro 3 Mar, 2021 @ 2:24am
You mean transporting on the ground? this boat is too big for that
UnknownGhost 2 Mar, 2021 @ 9:15pm
It’s called a boat trailer
UnknownGhost 2 Mar, 2021 @ 9:14pm
They do
Jotaro 2 Mar, 2021 @ 11:02am
Boats don't have trailers...
UnknownGhost 2 Mar, 2021 @ 9:17am
you should make a trailer for the boat
Beda  [author] 1 Mar, 2021 @ 7:42am
Thanks for your faith in me. I started a smaller SAR boat with 14m length, but progress is tedious - just as it was with the SAR-19 ;) It costs a lot of time, so I don't know if I'll ever finish it.
UnknownGhost 1 Mar, 2021 @ 7:35am
Are you working on more boats because I believe you can make your boats famous as in storm works community
Beda  [author] 1 Mar, 2021 @ 7:34am
I'm happy to hear you like it. I think the 20m class is a good size especially for single player - not too large and not too small.
Beda  [author] 1 Mar, 2021 @ 7:30am
Yes, it's for refueling manually at your home base. I am not familiar with frequency refueling.
UnknownGhost 1 Mar, 2021 @ 7:30am
And it’s a great solo ship or to play with friends
UnknownGhost 1 Mar, 2021 @ 7:27am
I haven’t played around with the fueling in months so thank you
UnknownGhost 1 Mar, 2021 @ 7:26am
So I have to go to a fuel station that does not use frequency fueling
Beda  [author] 1 Mar, 2021 @ 7:24am
Connect the hose from the filling station (Diesel) to the fuel port and if necessary start the pumps on the filling station. Below the refuel port on the ship there is also a fuel gauge. Maybe you connected the hose to the fire pump fluid connector on the deck? My description was not the best...
UnknownGhost 1 Mar, 2021 @ 5:42am
How do I refuel the boat I’m trying and I’m failing am I missing something
Beda  [author] 28 Feb, 2021 @ 11:41pm
Left side of the bridge, next to the orange SAR logo. The fuel port is labeled with text.
UnknownGhost 28 Feb, 2021 @ 8:04pm
Where is the refuel port at? Can’t find it
Jotaro 9 Feb, 2021 @ 7:28am
Proof???
soltscher 7 Feb, 2021 @ 1:41pm
Awesome ship. I love it.
Panda 7 Feb, 2021 @ 12:04pm
You're amazing!
Beda  [author] 5 Feb, 2021 @ 2:01pm
Hey everyone. I added bilge pumps and a monitoring system for five compartments: bow, crew mess, bilge, center room with bridge, engine room. All those compartments have a individual pump and a fluid level sensor. The bilge pump switch is at the very end of the overhead panel and the monitor is to the right of the instrument panel. The bathroom and cabins are not part of the system. LCD Flood Warn System Microcontroller by Peekofwar.

You are now able to sink the ship, repair it with the onboard tools and pump the water out to refloat it. Works as long as the water is not too deep.

Some other minor improvements are also included in this update, see change description.
