As always in Transport Fever, one key is keeping vehicles loaded in "both directions" to reduce costs. Freezing the date on January 1 1899 fit the story, but kept the available vehicles primitive. In the end I had about 85 trains, over 150 trucks and busses, 75 trams, and 25 ships.
Thanks for this great campaign @Mats.
t get chocolate and white wine, so I can't finish this map and continue with the campaign. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!
Can you export all your cargo types from the mission and make a new mod?
I play on random maps with freestlye industrie mod. I need more new Cargo types.
thx
Here is my new map: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2439164258
You don't actually need logs to make glass. You can unlock Germany after completing the construction of the exposition. As it says in the mod description: In the second part, after the opening of the exposition, you will be given quests and can earn rewards by completing them. Quests include improving accessibility, reducing emissions, reducing traffic, increasing town cargo supply, and so on. The more luxury goods you transport to the exposition, the more rewards you get. Rewards can include new vehicles, concessions to operate in a foreign country, new industries, new town cargo needs, and so on.
- More vehicles available at the start of the game. So that you get less useless vehicles as reward after completing a quest.
- Higher chance to get the country-unlock reward, so that they become available earlier in the game.
@VIA Gaming & Transports: I changed your profile name in the description and corrected the translation. And many thanks for the translation of the description; very kind, much appreciated!
@mark: Thanks. I am aware of the cargo bug. Unfortunately, I don't know how to fix it...
I am enjoying the map but a couple of comments which I hope you will find useful.
When I save the game and then load it again, any trains carrying your new cargo types have all lost their cargo. (Which for long distances such as Cotton to Dijon is a major problem as the factories supplied then devolve by the time replacement supplies have reached them ).
I also found some of the early supplies to be quite tedious as the very small size of the factories made it very slow to generate the train loads - a problem made worse by the above issue)
- I don't know if Steam support multi-languages descriptions but I suggest you this French translation of the description: https://we.tl/t-BjTa8zRy1N
- I've also changed my Steam profile name from "Swisstram" to "VIA Gaming & Transports" in order to match my YouTube channel name. Could you please change it in the description?
- I've noticed that I made a mistake in the translation of the cutscenes. Could you please replace "Prince of Galles" by "Prince de Galles"?
Thank you!
- (Almost) All base industries (farms, mines, and so on) are now available from the moment you finish the construction of the exposition. Factories (watch factory, and so on) are still unlockable.
- I fixed the French flag. Sorry about that haha.
- I raised the production of the Glass factory
- From now on, vehicles that become available in 1900 are also unlockable.
The unlocked zone issue seems to be caused by another mod.
Other minor remarks :
I think the glass factory could benefit a few extra production levels.
And finally, your French flags are backwards on your model (Red - white - blue instead of blue - white -red). Not that it's game breaking in any way, but it triggers my patriotism slightly :p
@OppiO_Italy: the bugfix should work right away; no need to start over. Only for the update to the Le Havre Port you'll have to start over.
@Rommel Chan: Thanks for your feedback. I didn't want to have a huge river in Paris as that would look unrealistic. But I can see that this can go wrong when you change the streets near the river. I'll think about it.
It is true that the quest rewards are a bit random. It is certainly fixable but would take me quite some time to code it. Maybe later.
@Rommel Chan and OppiO_Italy: About the time limit. I am a fan of time limits; look at my War Express map. :) I don't know if it would also be better for this map though. I'll think about it.
I hope it will work with the quotes and special chars, as we use them quite a lot in the French language.
