Hey, for anyone looking to use this mod, it doesn't work at the moment unfortunately with the beta. However I've found a way to expand the crew in the newest build.

You'll need to edit the .xlsx files directly with Excel or some other tool for this to work. I have no interest in publishing any mods myself, so please pass these instructions around those who will.

The instructions are as follows:

- Navigate to the main game folder, then open the UBOAT_Data folder

- After that, navigate to the Data Sheets folder

- Once there, open up the "Entities.xlsx" file, preferably with Excel
.
- Open up the "Types" page of the file. If you're new to Excel, this will be at the bottom left.

- Scroll down until you see the Uboats with "(Player)" added on at the end. This will be at line 41.

- Edit the crew number of your desired Uboat here. The default for the Type II Uboats is 14, and the default for the Type VIIs is 20. The amount of prisoners you can take also scales with whatever you put.

Yeah, I checked it with the type VIIB (early war) and type VIIC (U-96) and no good. Crew size still limited to 20. I would really love to see this updated or another one written to do this. It may be that it needs to basically be written to change the data on all the types of subs, which may be extensive.

Be warned if you want to use this it does not work with any of the submarines in the new update currently. Haven't experienced any crashes with it enabled regardless.

I added it. It does not crash game, but has no effect on Type II U boat. Still 14 max crew. Don't know if it works on the Beta Type VII.

hey, i am loving this mod but can i suggest (if possible) idle animations? or at very least get the idle crewmembers to spread out across the boat? since they seem to have a tendency to occupy the same spot and just stand there. maybe making them lean against the wall or something? again, only if possible. i know nothing about modding but i really like this mod so i wanted to make the suggestion

Hello, everything is working in the mod, the message about the incompatibility is only because the launcher checks the version. I have played with it in 2022.1 and everything works as it should.

I have added few examples screenshots, look above the mod description. I will update the mod compatibility information in coming days, however it is working 100% as it should and new game is not needed to apply it.

Yes 18 sailors is way too low. Especially now the game can utilize the extra sailors as the automatic leak blocking action is taking the sailors from this free pool (not assigned to officers or not assigned to other sailor work (diveplanes, rudder, etc)). Plus of course there is reserve for the case that the sailors get killed. I have been play testing as i want to update my mods, the Expanded crew is working 100% with the latest version. 60% of the sailors is available to be assigned to the officers normally, so that is about 22 when you have 30. I tested with 7 officers and each with 2 or 3 assigned sailors, in total 17 and it was definitely working. Up to about 20 leaks can be blocked simultaneously, however you need to un-assign almost all of that sailors from the officers for that.

Thanks for this, I don't low number of crew members. A Type VII had 44-56 crew, 5 officers and 18 crew is just ehh?

I don't really understand - does this mod just add additional crew slots as visual candy? My officers run out of helping hands if I have more than 11 sailors per shift and 9 assigned as permanent officer help so 20 in total if alarm is sounded. I have 25 sailors and 5 officers on board.

Quick question. If I toggle realistic air consumption off does that mean the air does not decrease at all or does it simply decrease at a fixed rate regardless of crew numbers. Regards

You can unlock additional officers with prestige points, of if you want more than seven officers, you can use mod expanding the amount. Please search on workshop.

yup, i have checked, Expanded Crew mod is not compatible with Officer Crew mod form sq_paradox. Since both mods are changing the same thing, you have to choose if you prefer fixed increase in crew amount, or progressively unlocking the limit by hiring more officers.
