So after testing some stuff on my personal saves, yes this is still very much important to have for giga modded saves.
leon2356 25 Mar @ 4:48pm
Is this mod still needed with the 64 bit update?
Khalarloko 2 Jan @ 7:40pm
does this work properly?

My prayers have been answered and then some in this guide. :ss13ok:

If anyone else like me finds themselves here by happenstance scouring for solutions to integral issues with DD having CTD's, I hope you find your solace here. :steamthis:

Does this work? Just asking cause the only moments seem to note crashes. Yet last update said this was “even better”…TIA
TheRealMeYT  [author] 19 Jun, 2023 @ 10:09pm
Yeah, people tell me it's an issue on Steam's end. Try turning Steam off and back on and such to fix it.

It shows up fine for me. I will check with some people and see what could be the issue.
Djsiruken 19 Jun, 2023 @ 6:11am
It doesn't exist at all! It is missing in modlist, accordingly, it does not affect anything! I literally described everything I got from clicking the "subscribe" button.
TheRealMeYT  [author] 18 Jun, 2023 @ 8:42am
Sorry, but I don't know what you are trying to say. I've had people thank me for this mod fixing their issues so it should probably work. Do you have the mod properly applied? Does it have high enough priority in the mod list? Could there be any mods that conflict with it?
Djsiruken 18 Jun, 2023 @ 5:17am
I saw how the mod is loaded, I see that it is in subscriptions, but that's it...
Cthulhu The 3rd 28 May, 2021 @ 9:18am
Possibly. I'll have to look into that. I know there isn't technically a mod limit, but more a limit on certain things from mods.
TheRealMeYT  [author] 28 May, 2021 @ 8:46am
One thing I can say is that when I have too many trinkets without this mod applied, the game doesn't crash. Instead, trinkets simply vanish from my trinket storage.I think your problem isn't about having too many trinkets but possibly just having too many mods applied.
Cthulhu The 3rd 28 May, 2021 @ 8:42am
For reference, it ain't your mod that crashes. Having it active is fine. It's when I add stuff to my already overstuff mod order WITH it that it crashes. Aka: It's not helping with the trinket overload for some reason. Heck, I even went so far at one point to take the one file in your mod and replaced the actual game file with it (I saved the original and put it back after I was done testing) Still didn't work. I'm really stumped here. o-o
Cthulhu The 3rd 27 May, 2021 @ 8:18pm
Gonna do that in a bit. I think it's a trinket overload. It will crash when you try to load a game with too many trinkets...thus why I wanted this mod.
TheRealMeYT  [author] 27 May, 2021 @ 5:50pm
The game crashes? Strange... Have you verified game files by any chance?
Cthulhu The 3rd 27 May, 2021 @ 1:34pm
Welp...I'm stumped. This mod is the only one that edits that, and even if I load it up above all the others, I still hit a crash. You got any suggestions as to how I find out exactly what is crashing it? I'm still new to troubleshooting in depth with this game. Your help and your patience is really appreciated man, you are good people.
TheRealMeYT  [author] 27 May, 2021 @ 1:32pm
Any mods that edit the file 'base.inventory.system_configs.darkest'
Cthulhu The 3rd 27 May, 2021 @ 1:02pm
Yeah, I can't seem to get it to work no matter what I do. You got a list of mods that are known to conflict?
Cthulhu The 3rd 26 May, 2021 @ 9:43am
Shit, I have at least one I know of that adds more trinket slots. Hmmmmm...gonna try something. Maybe if I load it at the very top it might work....will do some testing.
TheRealMeYT  [author] 23 May, 2021 @ 5:12pm
For example, any mods that modify trinket slots or inventory slots.
Cthulhu The 3rd 23 May, 2021 @ 11:27am
Not really what I asked, but okay. I checked and didn't see any mod in my collection, of which I had a lot, that targeted the same part of the DD coding that it did. Perhaps I missed it though. Do you know any other mods off the top of your head that edit stuff like this one does?
TheRealMeYT  [author] 22 May, 2021 @ 5:24pm
This mod will mostly definitely not work if you use other mods that modify the same file that this mod does.
Cthulhu The 3rd 22 May, 2021 @ 1:09pm
Is this still needed? Also, where is the best place to put it in the load order? Just asking cause I can't seem to get it to work. Might be one of the other hard limits, so that's why I ask.
Mr.Seng 8 May, 2021 @ 3:02am
not working for me
psychicdrill 25 Feb, 2021 @ 9:09pm
I'm going to try this. A little while ago, I had to purge some trinkets, because I kept reading there was a limit. Now with this, I can hoard them the way I always wanted lol Thank you!
TheRealMeYT  [author] 12 Feb, 2021 @ 12:37am
Yeah, it's not 1776. Sadly, it's 1786.
Vitklim 11 Feb, 2021 @ 11:13pm
The only unfortunate part here is that the hardcap is not 1776
Cathelia Samicora 5 Feb, 2021 @ 8:33am
Glad to help. It’s my pleasure :)
TheRealMeYT  [author] 5 Feb, 2021 @ 7:47am
I'm glad there are still warm-hearted people who are willing to help out a dumbass like me. Thanks for the love.
TheRealMeYT  [author] 5 Feb, 2021 @ 7:42am
Thanks a bunch!
Cathelia Samicora 5 Feb, 2021 @ 7:40am
Pay attention to the <ModDataPath>, that is where the uploader will get all your files. Hope this could provide a little help for you.
Cathelia Samicora 5 Feb, 2021 @ 7:37am
I see... So the real goal of this mod is to expand the storage limit. OK, I will try to tell you how to upload it correctly. The following things are exactly what you should do to make the upload correct.

@TheRealMe Besides if you want to know more about how to make mods, I highly recommend you to join the MoonLitDungeon Discord.
TheRealMeYT  [author] 5 Feb, 2021 @ 7:24am
AFAIK, solving the overflow is probably impossible since that's just the way how DD is made. My mod isn't about solving that issue. It's just about increasing the storage limit. Thanks for the tip on uploading mods though. Aaaand I did already upload a Shieldbreaker Rework mod about a month ago. At least, that one seems to work fine according to the comments that I get.
Cathelia Samicora 5 Feb, 2021 @ 7:17am
@TheRealMe I'm sorry, perhaps the answer is none... This mod didn't solve the overflow. Maybe you should just set it to private or delete it. But at least I hope you could fully understand how to upload a mod by yourself. Maybe next time you can make your own mods, good luck :)
TheRealMeYT  [author] 5 Feb, 2021 @ 7:04am
So is there anything else I should do?
Cathelia Samicora 5 Feb, 2021 @ 7:00am
@TheRealMe Well... You seem not fully understand how to upload a mod. When you want to upload a mod, you should drag the project.xml on the steam_workshop_upload.exe. While doing so, the project.xml arrange your files ONLY BY the <ModDataPath> within it. Normally modders will put their mods in the "mods" folder, and change the <ModDataPath> correctly, then it's done.
TheRealMeYT  [author] 5 Feb, 2021 @ 6:25am
The upper folder did have the other files already, though. Just put them for redundancy just in case, but got your advice and got rid of them since you said I don't need them there.
TheRealMeYT  [author] 5 Feb, 2021 @ 6:20am
Okie.
Cathelia Samicora 5 Feb, 2021 @ 6:17am
@TheRealMe ...I see. You should not put the other files (project.xml and the preview_icon) in that inventory folder. They should be put in the upper folder.

I checked again, and I might be genuinely stupid, but what's the problem here?
TheRealMeYT  [author] 5 Feb, 2021 @ 5:32am
Strange, that's where I went and found my file in the 'inventory' folder. Maybe my stuff's not properly updated. Thanks.
Cathelia Samicora 5 Feb, 2021 @ 5:12am
@TheRealMe No, it didn't. You may download your mod and go to the folder "steamapps\workshop\content\262060\2383643342" for a check. The file "base.inventory.system_configs.darkest" is still not in the "inventory" folder. If you want players to benefit from your mod, even just for expanding the trinket storage limit, you must put it in the "inventory" folder.
TheRealMeYT  [author] 5 Feb, 2021 @ 5:06am
I just checked stuff out after reading your comment and correct me if I am wrong, but my file is actually already in the "inventory" folder.
Cathelia Samicora 5 Feb, 2021 @ 4:35am
Besides it can never solve the overflow of trinkets, if your do want to just expand the storage limit number, your file is still in the wrong folder... the file base.inventory.system_configs.darkest must be put in the folder "inventory", otherwise it won't work at all.
Cathelia Samicora 5 Feb, 2021 @ 3:49am
Thus... I guess the "Trinket limit" what you mean, is just the storage limit number (how many trinkets could players keep), but not the mod-limit number (how many trinkets and items could players install mods), AM I RIGHT?
Cathelia Samicora 5 Feb, 2021 @ 3:49am
I am always playing a list of mods which almost reach the cap of "the overflow of trinkets". Before I discovered the trinket cap and the item cap are actually one thing, I have tried to count all the trinkets months ago. At that time, the result number is 1876, although after the discovery of item cap, this number is meaningless. Obviously the real limit number of trinkets+items is larger than 1876.
In my mod list, "trinket_storage" is always 999, not 9999. So the first conclusion is, 999 can already support more than 1876 trinkets. This is obvious, since trinket_storage only affects the storage amount, not the computer memory limit of trinkets.
And after I enabled your mod, expand "trinket_storage" to 9999, I still cannot add more trinkets or items, in other words, it cannot break through "the overflow of trinkets+items".
Cathelia Samicora 5 Feb, 2021 @ 3:35am
I have checked all your files but only found the main change is just "trinket_storage" max_slots raised from 999 to 9999. This parameter can only determine how many trinkets you could store in your town. Your mod didn't solve "the overflow of trinkets".

Also according to the study, items occupies the same memory space of trinkets, did you mean the limit number 1786 is considered including the number of items?
