i have an issue, i have installed both rock packs and the materials, even imported them both on usermod and wrokshop, but the map doesn't seem to be ficed, since i still see errors and wireframe textures :(

i would very much like to have anomalous materials in sfm but i am not skilled enough to do anything with hammer. if i was i would have it but i guess you're the only one that can/would do it

The abundance of these programs for making a game seems quite logical. But I'm undecided whether it's worth learning so many programs to make sfm videos. :'D I was able to collect things like ambient sounds, music, dialogues, props. Thank you so much.

Glad to hear I could be of some help! The devs for Black Mesa used Hammer for all maps in the game, however they then integrated WallWorm/3ds Max into their Hammer workflow for Xen, as well as adding their dynamic lighting system and screenspace fog ("Xog"). Since Black Mesa and Source Filmmaker are built upon entirely different versions of the Source Engine, it's pretty difficult for SFM to understand what the heck is going on without a complete revision of the map.

If you have issues with any props or NPC's let me know, or if you need any Black Mesa soundscapes/voice files I have plenty of them working and can port them to the workshop or help troubleshoot your issues if need be. Best of luck on your project! :)

In 5 seconds, a movie was formed in my head with every aspect. I learned everything about sfm in 2 weeks. I can 90% doing everything . But these cursed xen maps are not compiling in any way. I've been trying for 3 months. The hammer program they put in bms game is just garbage. I'm pretty sure they didn't work with him! Just a little fun turned into a grind. Thank you man, for this map! Maybe with a few props, I hope I can create the ambiance I want.

I have definitely considered it! I've managed to get a few maps working, but their problems are hard to overlook at times and every map has it's own unique issues. I'd like to post more in the future when I have the free time to put a lot of work into it, but for now I can just say...maybe? I do have one Xen map that I'm working on at the moment (bm_c4a1a1) but I wouldn't be eager to promise it just yet. Thank you for expressing interest though, I'm glad people appreciate the work that goes into these :)

@john-hitchcock Ah, workshop must not have compiled the models correctly either lmao. Xen maps are and always will be an nightmare to port. I'll add those models to the dropbox link for this map as soon as I can along with some additional instructions. Thanks btw, without folks like you letting me know about issues like these I'd have no clue!

Okay, looks like the map is working now. I did notice that the ERROR message appears when you select "draw game entities" and "other entities." But the bulk of it should be usable now. Now I got to see what I can do with this!

@john-hitchcock Upon looking into the issue I believe the correct VMT files didn't make it into the workshop upload correctly. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I'll be working to get the map reuploaded shortly!

@john-hitchcock Very strange! I've had the problem occur a few times in other xen maps. Usually it means a VMT file is trying to use a shader that doesn't exist. VMT files can be found in the 'Materials' folder in the usermod folder for SFM. Chances are there is one there that is overwritting the correct VMT for this map. Give me a sec and I'll get you a list of the VMT files this map uses. You can try removing those that the map doesn't use and see if that fixes the problem or if the problem persists I can remove this map from the workshop and repair the files for a reupload. Will get back to you as soon as possible!

I'm getting a lot of missing textures. For some reason when I open it most of the map appears as white outlines.
