RIKK, have you read my first post made in 2021 where I give a few pointers for playing this scenario?
If you have time read through all the posts, most issues and answers are there.

I checked the scenario's files and all looks OK.
By reading again through your last message, it looks like your settlement has high workload, low morale and villagers travel too far for work.
This is a hard scenario and you need to move carefully, season lengths change constantly and impact on everything you do.
Doing the goals will give you needed resources.
Yes your villagers spend most of Winter inside their huts, it is challenging and so not for everyone.
Do check your files integrity just in case and reload the scenario files.
Hope you manage to play through without issues.

What you are mentioning here seem to be problems with the game itself and not the scenario.
Scenarios do not affect the mechanics of the game.
I will look through the scripting just to make sure, but when you say you have no pick and only 1 stone pile and the game gives you 1850 stones, could you elaborate on that because I cannot see the connection.
I will let you know if I find anything.

I gave up but yes these are just few examples of what is going wrong: I have no picks and only 1 stone pile while the game gives me 1850 stones, I have only 1 steel mine but my count on Iron bars is over 1000. I have reached 600 hey count (avarage per year) but animals die of starvation. During winter people die like flies for starvation because food doesn.t store although I have pleany of graneries and warehouses as well pleanty as roundhouses. Due to the people's death during winters (although I have more than enough food that does not store) and enough water wood ect when it comes spring there is not enough people nor cows left to seed the fields. When Summer arrives the fields do not grow anything hence in autumnm the only grain is given by harvesting the wild plants.These are just a few of the issues that makes this game difficult to understand and to play

This scenario like a few others is story led, take care in reading every message and do not recycle the 4 Menhirs.
Scenario creation is limited by what the Devs gave us and scrips do not always run like we would like.
I can assure you that taiga is quite good if you play it the way it should.
Take time to read all the posts below which should help a bit.
If you give me more details about your issues, I might be able to assist.

sorry but I tried it again and again. There are so many wrong things going on that really makes no sense. I tried almost all scenarios available but this one just doesnt allow you to have a normal flow of events nor allow you any kind of control on what needs to be done. It loads you of tons of stones and hey but doesnt allow you to seed grain. Sorry but really makes no sense and yes I will move on to something different.

the game is not well written and has too many gliches! Run out of food so quickly and short springs do not allow time to seed. The sys do not allow to priorities anything and the whole game goes wrong. Can't advance without having food and people just die of starvation.

That's what a northern europe winter at the end of the ice age would be lol and I play Rimworld with the Rogue Planet deal where it drops -10C every year so I'm excited

Yeah, I had a rock pile that I later removed because I needed to put another building there. I reloaded the last save and built one and all was good with the world.

Re error, you did not have a rock_pile available to put the copper in.
I could not find a work around for this. Most of the time players have rock piles available.

Spawning the copper on the ground requires a position which could be occupied by a building.
Other option is to have a building positioned from the start but it could be demolished by player so it leaves little options.

Other goods spawn in storage huts, wood piles or granaries, there could be the same problem if storage space is not available.

Awesome, yeah, I wondered if it were a game thing or the scenario. Loving it so far, sometimes it seems too easy and then bam, it's a struggle again.

I have come across one outright error, though:
ERROR: Error in scenario definition: taiga
Could not find entity named rock_pile, to place: copper

This does happen unfortunately, when goals messages appear at top of the screen, make a note of it.
There isn't much I can do about it because everybody plays differently and there is so much we can do with the coding of the scenarios.
Hope this does not affect your play too much, Taiga is one of my favourite scenario.

There's a small issue where if you finish a previous goal after getting a new one, the message for the new one disappears. E.g. after getting the warning about raiders, if I then finish the first goal of having four tents, hearth etc the tracker at the top of the screen for the raiders (crafter, storage tent, flint spear etc) disappears.

This is part of the difficulty of the scenario, long Winters to get short Springs, Summers,
Game does not allow us to make seasons any length we want, it is based on 100% for all seasons. To shorten one season you have to increase another.

Great mod albeit I am bored to death from long winters that last forever. It is a little game breaking to have all your people shelter in their homes and wait it to be over every winter. That is just why I have abandoned this.

I must apologise to you, the granary problem is my fault.
Straw does not store in granaries, so I have changed it to 'Haystack'.
The scenario has been updated and you now can unsubscribe/subscribe again to update.
If you have a save prior to unlocking 'goat domestication' you will be able to play with the update.

When you have built your first stable you are getting a gift of straw, if you do not have a granary you would get an error 'no granary'.
One more thing, when you unlocked 'goat domestication', copper age is unlocked automatically.

I cannot explain the problems you are getting.
First time this was mentioned to me.
Possibly a corrupt save it does happen from time to time.
I will look into the granary issue and let you know.

I just got the aforementioned error about no granary. In any event, the real mystery is when I go to reload the game it shows me in the Copper Age, even though I have not progressed that far through in tech tree. Any thoughts?

I recently played through your mod all the way to the end game and thought I would post a hearty thank you here. All of the little narrative popups about the gods and mini-scenarios during my playthrough were fantastic and added a lot of flavor to the game! Each challenge I undertook and completed brought a good reward that really made me feel a good sense of accomplishment.

Your mod has become my favorite and definite GO TO map mod for any playthrough I do now.

Check your task screen, it will tell you what your people are doing.
Task are executed as they become available.
Out of Winter all repairs will be done on buildings before anything else.
As "taiga" has a short Spring/Summer you might need to prioritize your fields, you can also select some workers and right click on the field, you can also un-select tasks inside the task screen.

There are many reasons for a task not being done, you need to find the cause.

Started playing this today, great so far, except that I am having trouble getting my people to do tasks like plant crops and grind flour even though my workload is not in the red. I now have no straw for my animals because they didn't plant any cereals in the spring. I don't know if it has to do with population (about 110-130), or if it's something else interfering with prioritizing their tasks.

You really need to add another warning not to recycle the starting menhirs.

I recycled them because they were wasting time and morale if my villagers used them in winter, because it's so cold and they're so far away from my starting position. However, I didn't pull them away to build something else, so the "reinforcements" that came at the final battle simply got stuck and died.

I checked and it is right, you do need "rock_pile" with space to accept IRON.
I have just uploaded an update to warn you to build rock piles when 1st reinforcements in Iron Age are scheduled.

Hi again, so I went back and started a new game, and that problem didn't happen this time.

During a raider attack in the steel age, when I was catching up with the other techs, I got a crash report that goes like this though:
"ERROR: Error in scenario definition: taiga
Could not find entity named rock_pile, to place: iron"

Problem must have happened prior to you last autosave.
You might have to restart a new game and I recommend you save manually every so often on different save every time for 3 4 times and then overwrite from save 1 to 3 or 4 and so on so you have always 3 or 4 come backs.
DOM goes off sometimes for no apparent reasons and a replay from previous saves usually fixes the problem.
I have had this many times and have learned from experience.

I am sorry to ear of your problem.
I have had a good look into the 'XML' file and cannot find anything which would cause this problem.
The coding for the changes in season is independent from the rest of the script.
It should work the same way for everyone, and you are the first to bring it up.
Did you make more than 1 save?
When playing I always have more than 1 save, usually 3 so after all major events I do a save, save 1 then save 2 and save 3 and go on to save 1 again and so on. In case of errors happening, I always have a come back.
I hope you will manage to play the scenario again without any problem.

Yeah the scenario is unplayable after that. All my animals die, and half my buildings collapse and it goes into a morale death spiral from there. This happened after the event where one lonely girl comes to the settlement.

Reloading the save doesn't work because the same "winter is late but actually we're gunna skip spring/summer and go straight to autumn" happens every time.

I've hit a bug where, during spring, a notification tells me that winter is coming late this year. This turns spring directly to autumn, which means no grain and no straw this year. rip my animals.

I am sorry to ear that you do not like the scenario.
It was not made for everyone.
In reality, North Siberia was and is a very cold place with long winters.
Nothing much happens in winter as cold restricts your time outdoors.
If you take the time to play further you will see more and more people active in Winter as they have better garments and homes.
Re: the objectives are not recognized I tried for hour for it to work with no success, probably game limitations.
I hope you will give it an other try, it is very challenging but rewarding as you play along.

This is an absurd scenario. All people stay in the tents during the winter, so nothing gets done. Population appears out of nowhere. Objectives are not recognized - I can see the two crafters and the two storages next to them and nothing happens. What a waste of time!!!

Hi, if I forget to build a granary once I go into the copper age, I get an error message "Error scenario taiga cannot find entity granary to place grain" in a screen with the word quit below it. It doesn't let me quit, just crashes the game. It's happened twice now.

Shouldn't grain that can'tbe stored just be left lying?

Did you set the alarm point of assembly for your warriors.
If yes, then it would be a game problem not the scenario.

I have found the problem with "swordman" it was a spelling mistake it now all fixed.
