It is the flag of the suebian dinasty, the closest thing to a national flag at that time
Pretty cool mod! Great job!
You can browse the database for suebi units. I argue that it is very accurate, but you can get some very good ideas.
For unique unit I suggest berserkers. Btw the germanic tribes used club and spear heavy light armored troops and skirmishers. As far as I know they raided a lot and ambushed armies in forests. Enjoy.
Leader: Philip the Bold (Icon is the barbed cross as seen in their EUIV flag, burgundy, of course, on dark blue)
UA: Noblesse Oblige: Begins with the first four Social Policy tree openers adopted.
UB: Basilique: Replaces Temple. +2 Culture and increases religious pressure in city by 50%.
UI: Winery: Available at Civil Service. May only be built on Wine, provides +3 Gold, +2 Culture and +2 Happiness, doubling upon entering the Modern Era. (also, use the Buccaneers for reference to make Burgundy always start with Wine available with how they work with Sugar).
What do you think? Is this entirely different from your existing plan?
Im happy enough with a Galician kingdom in my game, and im in eternal gratitude with you if you make my dream come true, for i am an idiot without computer or programming abilities.
In other note, is this @thing works?? I try for the first time, but im not sure it serves for anything :/
As symbol, light blue flag with a golden (yellow) cup.
If you want a city-list, or images of the leader or flag, I can provide you with these, only tell me.
But, do not feel obliged nor something like that. Last word always you, naturally. I put my suggestions, and feel free to make only your wishes, not the mines.
UA: The Way of Saint James (because the importance of that pilgrimage for Galicia, since ancient times) Choose one more belief than normal when you founded a religion. Combat bonus when fighting units from a civ with more cities than you.
UU: Hidalgo (lesser noblemen, who constitutes the majority of the professional troops) I imagine it as a cheaper version of the Knights, but without the necessity of horses (the hidalgos are people of low cradle, they do not have money to buy a horse anyway, but function as warriors in service of high noblemen)
UB: Pazo (little fortresses that serves as residences to noblemen and hidalgos) I think in it like a building which provides a defensive bonus for the cities, or additional culture points.
And the image of Rechila is very good too. Either way, the suebis are a germanic tribe, and there are similarities between them and the goths. In the end, the suebi kingdom was invaded by the goths, in 585. Later, goes the arab invasion, and the resurgement of Galicia as an independent kingdom. And more later, after centuries of wars and problems, appears the Catholic Kings from Castile and Aragon, and: voila, we have Spain....and dont Galicia.
If you make a Kingdom of Galicia as it is, I TOTALLY in ecstasy! XD (please make it!!!)
I suggest you to use the symbol of the golden grial in blue bottom (flag of the medieval Galicia, and in present-day Galicia, these same symbol appears in the official flag), and to leader, a medieval knight like Pero Pardo de Cela, Pedro Alvarez Osorio, or Roi Xordo. WOH, thats a civ that i paid for it!
And to respond your question, yes, it is the same kingdom. Galicia was founded by the father of Rechila, Hermerico, in the year 409. He make a pact (foedus) with the roman emperor. In fact, Hermerico thinks to named it "Kingdom of New Suabia", but finally, he adopts the roman name, although modified.
