When I have this mod active it removes officer traits and officer corp roles. Is there a way to prevent this?

From my experience, this mod currently causing problems with supply (trucks and trains doesn't go in supply stockpiles and are not used)
+ generals cannot be promoted as advisors in respective menu as it goes completely blank.

Also no military advisor grants army, navy, airforce experience.

Such a good mod man... i'm so sad that i had to disable because it was crashing my game every 12 october 1942... lol, i don't why but it was. And before it was crashing sometimes too. Hope you can update it, because the vanilla espionage of this game kinda sucks. Played 01/08/22

Thank you. I've had Notepad++ for years. Have done modding...but my eyes are not too good any more so I've had to cut back on modding because for some STRANGE reason the font used is SO SMALL--even when I make it as large as it will go--not true for Notepad++. And I would not have looked for workshop for HOI4 in a completely separate folder...I was vainly looking all over the Documents and Steamapps area in HOI4 for the workshop items I have downloaded. Back before I retired I did some programming on the side using many different languages--sometimes in the same program.
I can only read with my right eye (retina problems) and it gets tired and I start seeing double after a while so that really cuts into my "programming time".

If your heart is set on a higher agent volume, you can modify the total yourself with the following steps.

1. Get 'Notepad ++' - you can find this program online with a simple browser search. It is essential for modding
2. Download agency from the workshop
3. find you steam folder and navigate to where the mod is saved
in my system it is in Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\394360\2387530567
4. once in the mod folder go to Common\defines and open tallEIS_defines.lua in notepad ++
5. find the entry "NDefines.NOperatives.MAX_RECRUITED_OPERATIVES" and set the value to however many agents you want the max to be

large numbers of agents caused problems in play testing. It severely bogged down the game and slanted the balance close to unmanageable in multiplayer. Future versions of Agency will likely see the maximum number of agents reduced to 10 to correct this.

on a secondary note, the max agents are hard coded to a specific integer and are not a variable. However, there is a mechanic in the game that grants extra agents to nations with high factory counts. This is in fact how the spymaster works, it adds the number of factories your allies have to your total when calculating this bonus. This has been adjusted in agency to be more generous, more sensitive to change, and to grant extra agents at a higher rate.

While your at it will you increase the number of operatives a nation could have--say to depend on number of PEOPLE in the nation or total number of factories. 16 operatives for the USA seems a might LOW....like extremely low since we had operatives in nearly every nation on Earth towards the end of the War.

Just an update for everyone waiting. A compatible version is finished and available on request. however development is slow due to my real life work being prohibitively busy this month and my time and attention not being as free as I'd like. It may be a bit longer before a final release is out there, so I'm thanking all of you for your patience and interest in the mean time.

A playtest for the next version is available on a limited basis. most bugs fixed (including the trait file one listed below) and its been optimized for multiplayer and for compatibility with other mods.

keep in mind this is an alpha playtest and subject to change. but if anyone wants to try it out and join in, then PM me and let me know.

Development is active but this will take time. The dev team is only one person (more or less) and I'm also working a full time job. Expect there will be a 2 week minimum wait until a new version is available.

If for some reason I finish early, it will still be two weeks and the extra time will be spent adding new features.

yes. After both the next next major DLC is out and OWBs patches for it. Also looking forward to toying with the upcoming logistics changes.

on a side note. I've spoken with a few members of the OWB team and have both given permission to use Agency in its entirety and have offered to help out directly when they decide to attack espionage on their own. so there is a chance Agency will become redundant once that happens.

Considering making some changes to this in future versions. Including making collaboration easier/harder to complete or with higher/lower rewards when stability is especially high/low or rival party support is particularly high/low.

for others that bump into this. to perform a collaboration government you need a Civ/Industrial department upgrade and a successful civilian infiltration.
