Is it possible to move the 500% cap to maybe 1000%? Or is that a bit too much

The Gear Tab will still show a maximum amount of 200% but the Armor Rating for the Gear can be up to 500% and it will work. If you got a mod which adds items with more than 200% you can inspect these items and it should tell you the right amount up to 500%.

The same it does with values under or equal to 200%. The Armour penetration gets subtracted from the Armour Value. This number will then be compared to a random number between 0 and 100. So for an Example:
If your Armor has an Armor Value of 250% and the enemy is using an normal charge Lance with 45% Armor penetration then your effective Armour Value will be 205%. This number than gets compared to a random number from 0 to 100. Even when it rolls a 100 you won't get damaged because 100 is less than half of 205. Of course the hit has to be on a body part which is protected by this amount. If you don't use any mods the highest armor value you can achieve is if I remember right about 190%.

If it works for you and you don't need this than thats fine. For me NoArmorPointCap doesn't work with 1.2 which was the reason I created this mod. If you look at the comments there it seems that other people had the same problem as me.

Im not aware of any material that goes over 500% with Unlimited. And yes, it and No Armor Point Cap both work with 1.2

Yes there is a mod that removes this limit however the mod I know doesn't work with 1.2, only 1.0 and 1.1.
I will see if i can make it adjustable via the Mod Settings. I will test a few things beforehand because people like tiger1197 seem to have some problems.

DevZ of possible, allow adjustment of values under mod options. Pretty sure there is a mod that removes armor point cap entirely, forgot the name though.

Can you tell me which mods you are using? Maybe I can reproduce the error and fix it.

Like others have already said not everyone wants this to be unlimited but just extended to a specific point. If you want I can make another version with like 999999% as maxValue if that's what you're looking for.

can you please just make it unlimited. also the gear tab still shows 200% even tho i am wearing 500% and honestly I am taking damage one in 5 strikes from elephans with 30% pen when I have 500% in all so I feel like I actually have the 200% stated in the gear tab. plz help sir:)

Pretty much yes. Unless you are using Mods with incredibly overpowered gear 500% should be more than enough.
