just look in the my games folder for civ 5 and this will make sense.
it does look pretty but the play is encumbered by the remote start at a serious distance from the river and the rather remote benefit of getting to the river at all.
getting to the river does not improve one's opportunity to actually win the game in any of the usual ways.
this is one of those attractive maps that ends up having no brain, in my opinion, I mean to say that was my frustrated opinion after playing for about 200 turns.
too bad.
it seems to me that the best way to race is to simply forego your first city and take the time to go West or East, if you can discover your originating orientation, until you hit the river.
by the time one can do this, if one were to do so, the entire list of other nations would have been enmeshed in their city building and advancement for up to 80--100 moves.
I do not see this as a map to be really enjoyed, except in a Kurt Vonnegut kind of way.
Please explain to my sorry brain how this is fun, except simply that it is fun if you want to play this way, which I am perfectly willing to do if ..... oh well!
Unfortunable, there are some places with too many resources.
When i saw this map...
