I started working on this game in 2001-ish. But, I'm just one person. Imagine if I had the 3D Realms development team that worked on Duke Nukem Forever. Cliche Quest Forever. :P

@Diamondback: Parody games were already a thing in the 80s/90s. Still, it might have been slightly novel if I had finished it in a timely manner, but since then there have been so many parody RPGs published on Steam that it's a cliche of a cliche.

@Ozilmx You need to own RPG Maker VX Ace and download this through the workshop or you can get the game from RPGMaker.net as a standalone without the RPGMVXA software.

how do i play it?

I came in to this expecting it to be a shitty game thrown together in 5 minutes like quite a few of the other games here on the Workshop. I was pleasantly surprised when I realized that this RPG was actually well done and could easily put any of my work to shame. I salute you, sir.

Review time.
Decent foothold. Very good work on the puzzles and most of the map design. Dark Cave has a few askew tiles.
Nice that there's original artwork, semi decent stuff, would like more variety in the future.
Writing... is off. Mostly just pointing out the cliches instead of mocking them and jokes that don't really make sense in context. Might just be difference in taste but, I think this could do with more work.
Battling is annoying. Pinky got me in a 20 turn loop of sleeping and buffing itself. Poison is OP and fighting alone and relying on inventory that's not massively helpful isn't fun. Hope for a party if this is ever finished.
Music choices are fine. Only gripe is no boss battle music.
Overall, it's an ok start, needs time to improve.

@CannonsMcChop: No script. I created it from scratch. For the achievement log, I created all the pages in photoshop. I created a picture to cover up the achievements that haven't been unlocked yet and assigned switches to all the achievements, then set up a common event to display the achievement log with a loop to navigate and exit the log. Whenever an achievement is unlocked in-game the switch for that achievement is activated. Then when you look at the log, it shows the achievement. If you want to know more, add me on Steam.

What script did you use for that quest log/achievement thing in the game? I'm interested in trying to get one similar to that.
