That was really fun. I almost got lost at the last part, but managed to figure it out.

Funny enough I also did @TowelieClegane/SteemStream's solution when playing this map. It actually makes me a little sad its not enforced since I found storing the standard cube in the reflection cube's spawn area to be super fun. I wonder if there would be a way to enforce it, hmm.

Otherwise, this is a great map, such a counter-intuitive solution, was a blast to solve. I could not count how many natural respawns are in this map. Also the way the entry area works is genius. Deffo worthy of a fav ^^

instead of bringing the white cube to the caged area in the middle, i bring it to the prism summon area. then, i re-summon the prism and using the existing portals, i bring the cube back towards the caged area in the middle to beam the laser in the eye. i can then cross the white cube to the ledge and then on top of the glass. i drop down with the white cube, leaving it around, i go back to the prism summon area, portal the ledge panel and the prism summon area panel, re-summon the prism and then cross it. after going back to the socket area to insert the white cube, were back at the same puzzle state then the ones in the playthroughs

Interesting.I'm curious what happened to the cage.
Towelie Clegane 10 Nov, 2024 @ 2:44am
no unintended tricks, only a variation of the beginning on how to cross the first cubes to the socket area. i never used a white cube in the "cage". the ending is similar tho.

@Towelie Clegane The command you are looking for should be "noclip". Also, thanks for playing! I am fairly certain that there should be only one solution, perhaps with some minor variations here and there, considering so many people have played this before you and everyone found the same solution more or less (to my knowledge). Did you by any chance cross some goo pits with some formidable jumps?
Towelie Clegane 9 Nov, 2024 @ 5:30pm
my solution is different than the play-trough i watched, i believe there are many ways to solve this
Towelie Clegane 9 Nov, 2024 @ 5:20pm
not as hard as it first seems to be
thanks for laser collision off
very fun

whats the thing that makes you fly trough walls and manipulate elements freely so its easier to find puzzle solutions ? is it a mod ?

I called chambers like these,"loop chambers" and I have to pay close attention each iteration because you risk having to start completely over easily. Thanks for creating for the community!

amazing! Simple chamber but hard puzzle!
DiDo Killer! 22 Oct, 2023 @ 11:10am
Just got around playing this one. Excellent map, I found everything up to setting up the redirection cube in the laser source area quite intuitive, but the little manouvers to save 2 portalable surfaces from the exit area to redirect the laser cube, and the portal shot from the standard cube area into the surface that is hit by the laser source, were very tricky to find. Great map :D

Devilishly tricky puzzle took me multiple sessions over a few days to solve. So satisfying to finally do it! :winter2019joyfultearsbulb:Insanely well designed to get so much out of so little. Also the custom music is a nice touch

Another map that gave me the greatest of feeling  Favorited !

I agree

I know this was made by somone with 1700h of experience, while I'm just a casual player, but in my opinion a good puzzle should require just a few moves to solve. Watching the solutions didn't make me go "ahh of course, it's so obvious!", instead I was just left scratching my head in disbelief. It's sooo easy to get lost or fuck up once and be forced to restart the whole thing. Not to mention how many actions you have to remember and then repeat them in the right order. Also there are 2 ways to cheese some cycles and they made me even more confused.
Overall, great idea, but I'm not too fond of the execution. I would compare it to a Master Level in Doom Eternal, where only pro players have even the slightest chance of finishing the map :) Maybe one day I'll be as good at this game as at Doom Eternal and I'll go back to this chamber and finish it with ease, who knows.

Nice puzzle! I was somewhat intimidated by all the fizzlers at first, but by stopping and taking some time to process the layout I was able to identify some fixed points in the solution and deduce how I needed to shuffle constructively.
NLuziaf 16 Aug, 2022 @ 11:38pm
I can skip 100% the chamber tho...

Great puzzle! No ninja moves, but very logical and challenging. It took me a long time to figure out. And the music is nice.

@PaleoBlue Thank you very much for playing, and excellent work figuring out this challenging puzzle! I'm happy to hear that you liked it. Great work :D

This took a very long break to figure out, and a look through some play-throughs to make sure I had done things correctly to the point I was at, but I finally did it. Once I realized that I could have both my portals in the entrance area while I brought the laser cube back to the square button, everything fell into place. Excellent puzzle that almost fried my brain.
Master.AKA 21 Mar, 2022 @ 4:39pm
@Mikeastro Thanks for the effort of making it. I forgot but I think it's needless to say that I think the map was very great. Favourited right after solving it! : )

@Master.AKA Thank you :D You give some great advice in your comment. Excellent work solving this one. It's definitely quite tricky
Master.AKA 21 Mar, 2022 @ 8:39am
Some things got me much time to beat them. I thought I used the laser enough but I didn't. It's interesting in how many logical ways the laser could be used in maps . Also For the end moves, I realized if I get the laser cube in the entrance area while the other is pressing the circular button, I'm done. But after I realized the surface in front of the laser is the only surface which to reach it, you don't need to move your portals (*), I understood the other cube was the first that should get there! Formulating the properties of the elements in clean sentences helps to solve a puzzle (like in *) instead of wandering around aimlessly and by mere intuition. Formulate some local objectives. Thinking of what stops you from doing it, leads to other objectives that should be dealt with first (how I figured the end moves). Note some things could be done in another way (like which cube goes first to the entrance! ).

I remember playing this map a long time ago when I did not have so much puzzle-solving experience, but I came back to it today and practically breezed through in ~30-45 min. The steps I got hung up on most were actually towards the beginning for some reason. Great puzzle.

Great puzzle...one of the hardest! But didn't require any ninja moves, just a lot of planning!

Awesome puzzle, a lot of fun. Took me quite a bit of time to solve, so I'm glad to hear that some others found it challenging too. Maybe my brain hasn't gotten so soft after all.

@I was forced to play this game Thank you! Excellent work solving it. I hope you will enjoy my other maps as much as this one :]
Yikes forever! 19 Oct, 2021 @ 2:26pm
I think I solved it without any unintended move, but if I would have to start from the beginning now, I'm sure I would have a few head-scratching moments again. :D

After playing a lot of great maps by Mevious and a few others, I'm in a struggle to find similar challenging maps (no ninja skills or weird/sneaky solutions, just pure logic). I'm glad I found another skilled author. I'm gonna check your other maps now.

Very cool map indeed. I knew what the main sticking point was with this one, and worked out the ending and everything, so once I got round that sticking point, the rest was pretty much plain sailing. Thanks again Mike!

Excellent !
I took a while to be starting the right way, but after that it was relatively obvious what to do :p
The setup is quite complicated at first glance, revealing many subtleties...
Cool little soundtrack :)

@Obvlious Owl Thank you so much! I'm very happy to hear that you liked it. A very sneaky move you describe there. I might do something about it, I might not :P I can see why the map has a mathematical feel to it - I quite like that myself as well! Mathematics ftw :cozycrashfish:
Oblivious Owl 27 Mar, 2021 @ 10:25am
Great, almost perfect map! There is one exploit that I found: You can solve a small portion of the puzzle quicker by setting the regular cube on a ledge using the reflection cube for a boost (in the same room that the regular cube spawns). I've seen placing cubes on ledges in other maps, so to me it wasn't obviously unintended until I found a different way to get to the same result. Otherwise, a very nice logical map that feels mathematical in a way--something I have a weakness for!

I like that puzzle a lot. I will subscribe to sample more puzzles.
I want to get to the point.
There appears to be 6 videos in the subscription.
I am a little lazy.
Which play through shows the laser alignment work around?
Mikeastro  [author] 16 Mar, 2021 @ 5:23am
@Spaceminnow Thanks a lot for the video! The cube throw you did is quite difficult to pull off and obviously unintended, so I don't think I will fix it. The move you did at the end, stacking the two cubes on top of the square button and hoping that it will perfectly align is not necessary. Please take a quick look at one of the playthroughs in the description to see an easy way to work around that problem! Anyway, I'm glad you liked it and thanks a lot for playing. Excellent work solving it :]
Spaceminnow 16 Mar, 2021 @ 4:56am
I solved it like this...

https://youtu.be/T2tm6iOozwk

The puzzle is almost perfect.
The puzzle could use some adjustments.
The puzzle could use some well placed grating to prevent throwing the cube and one function chamber to help align the reflective cube on the square socket button from pesky laser miss alignments.
