I have no slashing sound when The Buried uses 'Paranoid Strike' & 'Bitter Blade'.

Thanks for this mod. I have no sound for his animation yet (attack, taking damage,...).
Sometimes I have to use a last action to finish a combat whereas no enemy left on the room. Maybe it's common thing with this caracter but I'm not totally convinced it works as expected...
She is by far the most interesting class from a story standpoint. A solid backstory that is reflected in every ability, each ability telling us something more about her, her erratic behavior, her self destructive habits. It is not just that she is unique, she is inspiring as an aspiring writer.
Just don't expect her to deal with any particular target, she wreaks havoc everywhere and half self destructs in the meantime. Bring a stress healer, maybe a crusader? As an end note, I do like that she gets her district bonus from The House of the Yellow Hand and not the Altar of Light.
1: Is it possible to add some way (e.g a status effect) to show that the Buried has changed forms? No indicator is given that she has changed forms until her NEXT turn, which can be a hassle if you planned to use certain spells that she has lost. (E.g Otherworldy Wail, Hide From Them)
2: Can Clarity become a free action? Nearly every form change spell, both base and modded, is a free action. This is especially important for the Buried because she is VERY unlikely to swap back (10%) and also because Clarity is a very weak spell.
3: In my (unprofessional) opinion, I think a great way to fix the Buried's bloated UI is to replace her move skill with Clarity while she is Lost. The Commandant modded class has a similar mechanic. It makes total sense that the Buried loses the ability to reposition herself while Lost, and it also keeps her at 5 skills to prevent her hotbar from becoming overstuffed.
Still an amazing mod that is among my favorites, but this small visual change would make it honestly one of the best.
I like the look of the mod but I never bought the shieldbreaker DLC because I thought its only class DLC and didnt add much more?
@amphibius: not likely, sorry. the only way to make the her icons fit is to remove her ability to move in combat or heavily alter it.
I believe Gandrake was actually referring to reusing the animation without the effect on a second skill, not removing the Crusader effect.
As for the facial jewelry, it was the one thing of her former culture she was allowed to keep when indoctrinated. It was always there. Just another commentary on things being Buried just below the surface. Like individuality in massive group.
All that could use changing now would be graphical, like the smallish head, but that's nothing, really.
One thing I did notice, though, is the attack animation used for Feral Lunge, it's the Bitter Blade one, which doesn't look feral, or like a lunge. Is it at all possible to remove the graphical effects of The Old Way and use that pose instead? That would be much more fitting, and add nice contrast between those two attacks. Like her muscle memory is defaulting to the form, but her mind is somewhere else entirely, hence no Crusader silhouette.
If for some reason your mods replace these...that is possibly why this might be happening? I'm unsure. However, it still works as intended on my end.
@Gandrake: don't worry about it, friend! I appreciate the considerations you're bringing here, and you are definitely driving me to work on specializing the Buried further. Thanks for the time and effort.
Sedate, the skill that's available only when she's lost, is, well, kinda useless. There's only one time I can even think to use it, and that's when you're in the cooldown phase of the fight and want to pass her turn without killing the last enemy or hurting herself so your healer/stress healer can have a go. Of course you can probably just move her position so even that's not too useful.
Why not make the Sedate skill have some sort of positive effect? Like I was thinking a small stress heal (4) and a percent chance to remove horror.
That way there's actually a good reason to give up an attack for a little payoff. As it is, none of her sedated state moves are useful enough to sacrifice a turn for.
Hope you don't mind the advice and take some of it.
However, slight bug it seems, most of her attacks do not make a sound.
Making her gain a passive buff with stress could work well, like the Sunward Isle quirk where you get +1 attack per 33 stress up to 99.
What if instead, she gets a small increase to her crit mulitplier instead? Like 5% more crit damage per 33 stress for a total of 15% when she becomes Shattered. Or since crits stress heal, make it so she gets an increase in crit chance, but it actually lowers her crit damage so it helps her manage her growing stress without too much increase in damage output.
More pressing is that she feels underpowered for the trouble. Her playstyle has extra RNG with her shifts, and highly mobile playstyles like this are already more of a headache to plan around as you need to make sure they aren't shifting other heroes out of position.
Combined with extra stress management and you have a character with more cons than pros.
Sure, she can shine, but she has more potential to get your party killed, and that's not worth it when there's other heroes with as many strengths and none of the baggage.
That seems a hard problem to fix since I doubt you want to rework her completely, but the easiest place to start is to just move some numbers around. If she does more damage consistently compared to other damage dealers, that could make up for the hassle.
Without more info...there's only so much I can do. I've already made considerable adjustments to lower her stress ramping mechanics, which brings to mind: are you using the most recent version of this mod?
-the floating white pixel near the tip of her sword should be eradicated now, thanks for pointing that out Demaar!
-I've done some re-balancing of one of her trinkets, Ashra's Head was just a small bit too powerful.
@Nope.avi: No, not a Sunward trinket, only because I wanted to keep her # of unique trinkets at seven. I would have liked to add one, but decided to stick with her gaining all of her unique trinkets via Nightmares (aside from the shard shop).
@Ivan Jamal: that's strange... Bitter Blade should be using the same audio file from the Hellion's Iron Swan. Only thing I can think of...maybe an incompatibility issue if you have another mod that alters the hellion's stuff too much?
@Kojak: Thanks! just trying to provide some additional fun for this masterpiece of a game.
thanks again
I did consider that this issue might be on my end, but said pixel is also visible in the Teaser Video.
