unfortunately i wasted my hours on on two greece playthroughs because after turkey is annexed i finished the focus to get the decision to form byzantium but the decision wont show no matter what

Okay, I will move it up to the independence war. Just have to modify the focus tree then, so Puyi doesn't overwrite Wanrong. It also shouldn't matter if it's war or peace, for what I have in mind. Basically it operates like Victoria or Durrushevar. First you change the succession law for clan Aisin Gioro, then Puyi will die.

That is pretty late, given that unless you're going for a world conquest, you've done all you need to do - this mod, on the other hand, makes it still viable to form the rest of the empire (since the decision doesn't necessarily require you to be at peace, meaning you could get her in charge when you were at war with Italy).

For Xiaokemin, I'd suggest allowing you to take the decision to put her in power after having broken free of Japan - basically, as long as your country is at peace, you've completed the focus Independence War, AND you don't have Mengkukuo as a puppet (before you ask, if Japan goes Democratic/Communist, Manchukuo takes Mengkukuo as a puppet; if Manchukuo becomes independent the normal way, Mengkukuo will usually fall to Nationalist China, and if I'm not mistaken, the cease fire will have them stay annexed by whoever capitulated them), you could put her on the throne.

I made the Empress for Qing mod last night in an hour or two, while drunk no less. Now I just have to see if it works, if there are any bugs. Which means playing a whole Manchukuo campaign.. I have never done it before, lol. I'm going to cheat, but it will still take a while.

The way I set it up, it can't happen until taking the final focus under the independence path (Claim the mandate of heaven). I did it that way to avoid having to overwrite and rewrite the focus tree for Manchukuo, along with the focus text too. Makes the mod easier to maintain, compatible, and so on. But on the other hand, it's almost too late in the game then to be as fun? I might reconsider it.

Thanks for that info. The hardest part will probably making a good portrait. I was lucky to find this one already a painting, but it still took a lot of tweaking.

Since you mentioned you'd be interested in doing a mod similar to this one for Qing China, allow me to help you with a few details for the empress of Qing China:
-Unlike with Palaiologos, there would actually be a real person you could use - Wanrong, who was Puyi's first wife. She was married to Puyi at the time, and while she never received her official title (Xiaokemin), she was married to him at the time the game was set (she isn't mentioned in any events/focuses, unfortunately).
-For her traits, either copy Basilissa's, or give her the ones Puyi has during his war for Independence. Additionally, I might also suggest that taking the decision would grant Manchukuo/Qing China an "Xuantong" national spirit that boosts stability by a significant amount.
-As Manchukuo can form the Chinese Empire as either fascist or non-aligned, I'd suggest making it so that Xiaokemin would become the leader of the party that's currently in power.

You should honestly look into expanding this into picking from a few choices of heirs. This mod is actually a great concept.

The current version? With the BftB DLC. (the only thing updated by 1.10.5 is a security issue afaik) but it should work with WtT DLC too now. The flavour text will just be a little off since it references kosmidis and george II. I will adjust it later with wildcards. I just looked at the code and i think they might have also fixed needing WtT in addition to BftB to form Byzantium? So either or both of those DLC.

Also I'm not sure about road to 56 or what the greek focus tree looks like there. Currently for the decision to appear, you must have fascist government and kosmidis in power. to activate it, you must form Byzantium through the decision. I will remove the requirements for fascism and kosmidis to make it a little less restrictive. That way it should work with WtT only, (If it's ever fixed) or anything that uses the global flag form_byzantine_empire_flag

A heads up, I think you also have to have waking the tiger DLC for the BftB DLC's Restore Byzantium decision to work, due to a bug. Hopefully it will be fixed, but due to the glacial pace of HoI4 development and bugfixing I wouldn't expect it anytime soon

a few people have asked for the fascist option. Maybe on the metaxas path? But then, it's still Greece. And Metaxas is still in charge. Because that's how fascism works? She would be like Emmanuel in Italy. Or similarly, Hindenburg before he died. Fascism doesn't have much use for monarchy. I am probably overthinking it, since this is a dumb mod where a palaiologos poofs into existence, but the fascist empress doesn't make sense to me.
