Other than that, I really enjoyed it. Good story and characters, with a Mr. Johnson you love to hate. Well done.
Pure randomness is not challenging, not fun, and doesn't feel like Shadowrun.
Thanx
I have to say the matrix is still really really rough, no matter how you cut it. I ended up getting matrix dumped about 5 times before the end and if not for Heal 5 I would have been toast.
Unfortunately I had to stop playing. The reason I stopped is that this ended up not being fun. It was a grind of endless combat which after a point just becomes work. The beginning cyberspace fight was a perfect example. Have to wear down waves of programs to get through each screen rapidly sapped my desire to keep playing. I cleared every screen and at the end when I "unlocked all doors" I came back out and was stuck in the room and the hallway with the busted elevator.
I've unsubscribed from this offering but I will keep an eye out for any new material from this author.
The 3AP thing is pretty frustrating for a mage, though. A lot of our best spells take 3AP and our move range is lower than most of the cybered-up runners, so it feels like I'm dragging the whole group down. The whole Haste, be useful for a couple of turns, Haste cycle is pretty painful.
But, the fights are over the top. At least in the matrix. Matrix fights itself are not my favorite, cause you are alone. Only having ESP at your side. So it takes far too long+ ESP die very easy.
The fact, that i used your Orc female decker may have been a reason, but i think she was good enough. It´s just the setup itself and the amount and hp of the IC.
But again, thanks for your work and your time. I had alot of fun, while not being in the Matrix.
By the way, i cant understand any comment like lutharr101´s. Dialog sets the tone for any story in Shadowrun Returns.
Tis a shame because it seems like a promising mod otherwise. The starting fire fight was not a cake walk but it was infinitely easier than the matrix run.
The matrix is no fun atm. You just run around in circles trying to get out of the line of sight. Even with a maxed out decker and delta ware.

That has seemed to work for others.
Since Dragonfall, it looks like they fixed whatever the problem was with the game engine that was holding them back and my powderpuff IC have been transformed into lethal-deadly-killer-assassin-harbringers-of-death (and stuff). After some additional testing (where, I too, swore at the designer a few times) I decided to keep them this way because it offered an extra challenge and, although at times frustrating, it didn't risk the game being unplayable because if your persona gets wasted you can always just jack back in the next round.
I appreciate that it can be a little disheartening that your cybermancer or nth degree initiate is pulling <50% hit rates but please remember that I designed the game to be challenging for maxed out characters. To do that I needed to up both the stats and the number of adversaries. Once you've maxed out your skills, the NPC stats are basically the only thing that can keep the hit% consistently below 99% and give you any challenge at all. The scary part is that the core skill stats for most of the real world NPCs are between 4 and 6, so compared to the team they are still pretty low level. It also gives you an idea about how low-level the vanilla game NPCs are.

If you aren't subscribed to both of them the game won't load.
Regardless, good work for your first UGC. I'll keep an eye out for more of your work.
