Thank yyou so much. this is how you upgrade toyr feature projects, add a plants and Vegetation, and you can make a parking lots with asphalt decals from ronyx 69.

Great looking parks, a pity that they have 150 Entertainment by default instead of 0 - would like to just use them as functional parking lots with TMPE.

These look great and will be put to a lot of use in my cities!

I'm digging through your workshop and finding lots of other great stuff.

Thumb ups and adding lots to my list of favorites!

Please keep up the great work!!!

Hey ! Thank you ! ;) The answer is no ... they dont attract tourist ... I didnt want that to happen because I wanted them only as parking spots for the cims. Parking in general is some kind of a "thing" in the game. The cims tend to use only street parking and/or at the atraction they´re visiting. Hence .. these "work best" at roads without parking and/or with the help of the advanced parking AI provided by TMPE. So ... it might be something for you. But you of course have to live with the general parking behavior in this game ... ;)

Hi Clus, thanks for everything you do. I love your stuff (Super Toll). Do these parking lots act like parks? I have a lot of parking in my city, where apartments are mixed with roads that don't allow parking, and they are very fast to place down, but I find the tourist flock to them like fleas. Is this asset a park too?
clus  [author] 21 Mar, 2021 @ 4:14am
Yep. The AI always prefers street parking ... they rarely park at buildings...and in most cases only, when they're "visiting" the building...thats how the game works.
These parking lots can t be visitied ...
I decided against that in order to prevent unnecessary tourist traffic ...therfore i suggest tmpe and/or the usage of these lots near streets without street parking.

@Angry Chimp - I've noticed that parking use can vary a lot, and that's even with TMPE's better parking AI; I have no idea if it's even worth it without also using Traffic Manager (which is a mod I can't really play without these days). If there's roadside or building parking, they'll usually take that first. That said, as soon as I change nearby roads to ones with no parking (or forbid it using TMPE for that segment), any nearby parking lots fill up nicely.

It also becomes a lot more important as the city grows and density goes up (logically).
Angry Chimp 14 Mar, 2021 @ 4:37am
@Ysharros -- Thanks that makes sense. I think I was plopping them somewhere the sims didnt want to park.

@clus -- Thanks for a really nice asset. Your work is appreciated

Its just an empty "building" like any other in the game. The decals contain the (internal) "parking markers", the same way it works with the vanilla parking markers. They're needed, so that cars "know" where they can park. Its the same as with every vanilla building in game.
@MerleDixon ...and that is the way this game works. I can t change that, only the developer can. The only way arround that is to use tmpe, with its integrated advanced parking ai feature.
MerleDixon 12 Mar, 2021 @ 11:25am
After i placed the lots, 4-5 cars are parking there. After some playtime (~20 min.) no one will ever park there. They stay empty for the rest of the game. I noticed that on 3 different savegames and maps.
Ysharros 12 Mar, 2021 @ 3:45am
@Angry Chimp -- Yes, you plop them like any park, so they'll orient in a given direction to the nearby roads.

The decals dependency is what should allow cars to park there when the item is plopped, but based on what the mod author said below, it looks like they're automagically added when you plop the item.

Apologies for the lack of certainty, I only just subbed to this myself and haven't had a chance to try it yet. Looking forward to it though -- good parking options are a boon for traffic management.
Angry Chimp 11 Mar, 2021 @ 3:09pm
Hi, sorry to be a noob but I too need to know how I use these please? Do I plop them by the roadside? do they need to be in a specific orientation, what do i need to do tom make the sims park in them?

So many questions so little time :)
Little Viking 11 Mar, 2021 @ 2:01pm
Great job but how does this work exactly? Plop the parking then plop the "working decals" on top of the "aesthetic decals" that are already in the parking and I should wait for cars to park?
delroy1989 10 Mar, 2021 @ 7:32am
Ah right okay, Thanks
clus  [author] 7 Mar, 2021 @ 11:02pm
Many thanks again !! :)
And yes... there is no tmpe magic involved ;) just the native vanilla parking behaviour ... with the help of the parking decals of course. ;)
Glam_Helen 5 Mar, 2021 @ 5:56am
Oh, and rated up and added to my Parking Lots Collection :steamhappy:
Glam_Helen 5 Mar, 2021 @ 5:55am
@delroy1989 In the description it states that you only need the Parking Essentials Decals for this to allow cars to park. TMPE doesn't seem necessary.

@clus I love parking lots that I can plop down. I don't always feel like detailing, so when I can plop a nice looking parking lot or anything for that matter, I love it. I enjoy and use a lot of your works. Thank you!
delroy1989 5 Mar, 2021 @ 2:57am
awesome asset , do these car parks actually work without the use of TMPE?
Polka 4 Mar, 2021 @ 2:37pm
That's amazing!
sevenof9 3 Mar, 2021 @ 12:46am
looks great.
clus  [author] 2 Mar, 2021 @ 9:54pm
@all Thank you ! :)
@hastalikoFgame those parking lots "work", therefore the cars are actual parked cars and no props. I've created (for my own save) some lots with mixed spots, which means that some spots are just decorated with car props and some other spots work like these on this parking lot.... to achieve that result, I created working and non working versions of the decals. (In order to prevent cars in game to park on the prop cars)

These look really useful. Thank you for creating them

Thanks guys !
@MrMiyagi I am quite surprised how successful this upload is (I would have never thought that !)... but I guess there a lot of people like us, who like to quickly fill their empty spaces in the city ! :) I really love these quick and easy solutions ;)
MrMiyagi 1 Mar, 2021 @ 12:03pm
Great to see you making new stuff! These are great - I can pick the trees to add, plop it down real fast, and move on! I have tropical and temperate cities, so an easily customized (but still with nice planters) parking lot is much appreciated!

exactly what i needed, thank you
