I'm sorry you've had these issues with it, I hope it serves you as best as it can. Cheers!

Too bad we don't have a weight sensor or something similar. Anyways this controller will do for now thanks a lot, even with its imperfections!

Yeah, well, I should note that this microcontroller is not perfect and if my laboratory setup and your setup differ they will produce different results which is not optimal. You could try placing the sensor a block lower and that might resolve some of the discrepancy.

Just tested. Load was around 12.5 tons. Reading was 15.2 tons so its closer now. At least it works as an estimate so you know when the load is too heavy.

Can you check if the problem persists when lifting heavy weights like around 5 tons or so? The chosen function got inaccurate at the extreme points (close to 0kg and over 12'000kg per cable) so that might be the reason you are getting inaccurate results. I completely forgot about this fact and that might be the reason you're getting such results. With 2 cables you should be getting accurate results in the range of 5-24 tons. Although that might also be wrong. I recommend checking.

Same result sadly. Again trying to adjust the weight output doesn't work in all circumstances. Hook weight was 103 and indicated weight was 473. Divided it by 4,611 and added some weights to the hook, result was: actual weight 263; indicated 136.

The setup looks perfect. Does the same thing happen when the winches are extended more? I remember there was an issue where the readings would get inaccurate when the winches were wound up all the way.

Could be. Heres my setup: https://imgur.com/a/p9nuBk4

Ah damnit, if that's the case then the devs must've changed how the ropes stretch. I would have to do extensive testing to re-calibrate the microcontroller again.

That's another thing of mine that got broken by updates recently and I absolutely hate this.

Yes its level with where the rope comes out of the winch; in fact it sits right next to it. It points to the hook below it and I usually wait for the hook to stabilize before I look at the load weight.

Are you sure that the distance sensor is as close vertically to the winch as possible? It also has to point straight down at the load as any slant will give you false results.

A tutorial or visual set up guide would be really useful for setting this up, or I'm an idiot. I must be doing something wrong because the loads are quite off. For example my load weighs 500 and the controller gives me 2500. Doing a simple divide by 5 does not work because for other loads the ratio differs.
