Does this affect existing saves? Or do I need to start a new game?

i think this may be bugged or else im very confused.

so right now, Stonehenge is greyed out in 1 of my 4 cities, and it SHOULD be greyed out in that one because I do not have stone near the city. HOWEVER, Stonehenge doesn't even show up as an OPTION in my other cities, and one of my other cities does infact have stone in it. If a Wonder is greyed out in one of my cities shouldnt it also be appearing either greyed out or not in all my other cities?

@araiguma I asked the same question of MK Z when I first commissioned him to build this mod, and he told me the same thing regarding the "nevermind this" tag. I was like, "no problem ... small price to pay" :) I'm just giddy to see this mod still active in the community. Thanks to Zegangani for keeping it running.
Yūro Akiba 2 Aug, 2024 @ 10:01am
I see thanks for the response
Zegangani  [author] 1 Aug, 2024 @ 1:06pm
it's possible, but the method to do that would make this mod incompatible with some UI Mods that overwrite the same file, and I don't want to add support for them bc many of them are still being worked on and I would need to make updates every time they make an update. That's too much maintenance for some minor thing that can easily be ignore tbh.
Yūro Akiba 1 Aug, 2024 @ 4:43am
the following message appears:
Requires:
Cannot be built in the same district with a Nevermind this

could you eliminate this? it's just an interface thing and it's probably for a prerequisite for making them unbuildable in other places, but is it possible to make this invisible?
Zegangani  [author] 5 Nov, 2023 @ 12:07pm
that's very exploitable tbh and out of the scope of this mod.
CaptainLagbeard 19 Oct, 2023 @ 5:00am
Would it be possible to make it so that as long as you start building a wonder before someone finishes it, you will still be allowed to finish yours as well?
Zegangani  [author] 21 Aug, 2022 @ 4:20pm
Yes, it's possible to mod.
Shackle 21 Aug, 2022 @ 7:45am
is there a way to make a mod that straight up cancels the wonder construction in a city, or move a wonder to a different city? I accidentally built petra in a city, then realized it'd work better in a different city.
Zegangani  [author] 17 Feb, 2022 @ 6:28am
Thank you :)

Great <3
axatoramus 9 May, 2021 @ 9:32am
Hmmm how interesting.
Zegangani  [author] 6 May, 2021 @ 7:55am
It's active Construction. I haven't checked if occupying the Wonder Hex will cause that Issue, but I will definitely do that (if you have encountered that Issue, please let me know so I can be sure).

As it might give some Players some interesting Gameplay while not completely taking away the Wonder Race from the Game, I will add some Options in the Set-up menu for Players who want to grab a Wonder for the whole Game (even if they switch to building something else).

Thank you for the Infos!
Amyglyosaurus 6 May, 2021 @ 7:38am
Hmm. If you start a Wonder and a Barbarian moves onto the hex, that'll give an opponent who's checking the chance to grab the Wonder construction out from under you.

Players will have to make absolutely sure that they've got strong protection on and around the Wonder(s) that they're constructing.

Also, is that only *active* construction, or can I start a Wonder then switch to building something else for a while? If it's only active construction then the above problem will exist.

Interesting tactic. Someone's building a Wonder you want, you declare war, sit on the Wonder hex, start your own copy, they can't restart unless they can find where you're building yours. Or, of course, if they're forced to build something defensive and have to stop Wonder construction.
Zegangani  [author] 3 May, 2021 @ 7:27am
Yes, it's overstretched, but I don't know why that would bother People, because it's just the introduction Phrase of the Description. And everything is described clearly underneath it (and most of people who played the Game know how it's working In-Game).

Anyway, Thanks for the Note. You might be right about the misleading phrasing, I will change it so that it's clear what the Issue is.
Vyctorianbyron 2 May, 2021 @ 11:06pm
Also you do say for "Nothing" by your own admission is incorrect
Vyctorianbyron 2 May, 2021 @ 11:05pm
It still feels like your phrasing above is misrepresenting the mechanic, which is more why I mention it. You're entirely entitled to feel the way you do about the loss and I commend you making a mod to address your grievances with the game, I just think it could be worded in a better way (so comments like my original can be avoided)
Zegangani  [author] 2 May, 2021 @ 8:10am
@Vyctorianbyron I'm not. The Production overflow mechanic counts only for the next construction object.
If you spent 500 Production for a Wonder and then losed this latter, and the next production object that you choose has a production cost of 200 Production, then you will have to wait 1 more turn to get that object constructed, but there won't be any production left from the previous overflow, which in this example is 300, a HUGE amount of production that gets lost. That's especially disadvantageous because Wonders always have a very high amount of production Cost.
Vyctorianbyron 1 May, 2021 @ 6:30pm
You're incorrect about losing production. Civ 6 has a production overflow mechanic, so if you lose out on a wonder the production will be saved so as soon as you have something queued up behind it. Be it a unit, building, settler or another wonder, you can basically get that for free as a consultation prize
Zegangani  [author] 30 Apr, 2021 @ 6:57am
@Akkadon That's the exact Goal of this Mod, Players can't steal each other Wonders that are under Construction. So if you want a Wonder, then don't hesitate, start building it and keep at it till it's finished (without the fear that another Player might finish it before you).
Akkadon 29 Apr, 2021 @ 9:34pm
So that also means that I can't steal wonders from the AI with my insanely productive cities? Don't know how I feel about that...
Zegangani  [author] 12 Mar, 2021 @ 6:15am
@Mk Z That's right. I didn't notice that till you mentioned it (and because I haven't played a Full Game with this Mod (or at all in the past few weeks) to notice it). Thanks for the Info! I will include it in the description.

@Zyxpsilon That's reasonable, since they are replacers, and Firaxis keeps updating the ToolTip Lua. The last update was with the January Pack.
Broken Dusk has made a Wonder&Hero Progress Mod after that update:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2378817431&searchtext=progress
So perhaps that one still works.
Zyxpsilon 11 Mar, 2021 @ 10:14pm
Oooopppsss, i didn't express my thoughts correctly about BM's version fix. It doesn't "crash".. it requires a manual LoadOrder fix (change 200 to 1200) to prevent the CityBanner (of some people setups) from collapsing. It works fine for me.
Mk Z 11 Mar, 2021 @ 8:11pm
monkeywire,
>>starting all them first and then finishing at your leisure

You can't finish at your leisure. If you switch to something else AI can start to build the wonder and you won't be able to continue.
Zegangani  [author] 11 Mar, 2021 @ 5:33pm
@monkeywire Sorry that I missunderstood you. You really got me thinking.
I was already thinking about a Notification when a Civ starts to Build a Wonder. But what if you can't build more than 1 Wonder at a Time in all of your Cities? this way, even if you (or AI) choose to place a Wonder (assuming the method in this Mod is persisting), you can't (and neither the other Civs) start building another Wonder till you have finished the one you've started. So you wouldn't have to scout the Map (as it's unrealistic and just helps the Human Player only). Each Civ would only be able to build one wonder at a Time, but they're all different from Each other. So no waisted Time and Production, and less likeliness to loose many Wonders that you wanted to build.

So thanks for the Criticism! (who said criticism is a bad thing? questions lead to answers ;) )
I'm open for Ideas, so any suggestions are welcome.
monkeywire 11 Mar, 2021 @ 5:09pm
It was meant as constructive criticism. The wonder race is finishing before they do. Scout the map and see what the AI is building, then you can chop out your wonders before them if they are ahead. This just changes it to a beat them to the tech race. You really shouldn't be losing wonders to the AI on the first half of difficulties anyway. I can only imagine trying to build any useful wonders on deity when they are each going to build different ones. Maybe find a way to have an alert when wonders are being started. I am pretty sure the older Civ games did that. I wasn't trying to disparage your work, just point out potential flaws.
Zegangani  [author] 11 Mar, 2021 @ 1:45pm
@monkeywire the vanilla Game Wonder build approach/systeme is counterproductive. You're building a Wonder for many Turns, spend many Production to build it, and in just one turn 'snip', all the work was for nothing, because an AI used to build that Wonder before you. And especially the AI suffers from this the most. At least with this Mod you (or the AI) don't have to fear loosing Time and Production to a failed Wonder. If you want to build a Particular Wonder, then strive to get its Tech/Civic and Place/Build it before anyone else. It's a Wonder Race!

And if you just want to abuse this to place Wonders so AI can't build them, then fine, each his/her. But keep in mind the AI won't do that, only a Human Player.
monkeywire 11 Mar, 2021 @ 1:23pm
This sounds counterproductive. You want the ai to waste their production all trying to build the same wonder at the same time. Unless you are playing on easy and just want to get all of them by starting all them first and then finishing at your leisure. What are you going to do if they start one before you that you want to build? Save the game and turn off the mod? :steammocking:
Zyxpsilon 11 Mar, 2021 @ 12:37pm
Okay then.. let's see what the future holds.
Zegangani  [author] 11 Mar, 2021 @ 11:15am
@Zyxpsilon I didn't knew that the NFP Fix for that Mod doesn't work anymore (how many Times did People Update that Mod but still keeps to crash?!).
To your Request: I will quit modding for some weeks, and after that there are still many Modding Projects waiting for me. I will try to find some Time for that, but I can't promise you anything.

PS: I saw your other request for the Artefacts Poppup. I may also try something in that Direction. Just a little Patience. (I remember being also annoyed from that some Time ago, but I kinda forgot it)
Zyxpsilon 11 Mar, 2021 @ 8:26am
What you'd really want to tackle now (hopefully for some of us!) is a formal re-boot+re-coding of WindFly's "Showing AI Wonder Progress" mod (or of BlueMoon's NFP fix attempt that keeps crashing).
Please?! ;)
Cosmic_River 6 Mar, 2021 @ 1:41pm
You were right before. I had subbed, and it was showing in the active list of mods, but it wasn't actually active in the loaded game. I just kind of reset everything and started a new game and it appears to be active in the game now. I let you know if I run into issues in the future.. Thanks for your help.
Zegangani  [author] 6 Mar, 2021 @ 5:57am
@Lorelei Ah! So it was you. Glad that I could help. Please let it me know if things are working fine (or not).
Cosmic_River 5 Mar, 2021 @ 3:12pm
I'll check that. Thanks.

I had sent a note to Mk Z some time back without reply, so I thought he was out of the Mod business completely. (I'm dsinsocal from the forums) and that's why I asked if anyone else could jump in and make it work.
Zegangani  [author] 5 Mar, 2021 @ 9:15am
@Skyder Raleigh Yes, technically you could. Wonder race made more challenging!!
Skyder Raleigh 5 Mar, 2021 @ 8:35am
So technically you could in 1 turn just place all the wonders you want to build on the map and nobody can build them? seems legit.
Mk Z 3 Mar, 2021 @ 9:26pm
Zegangani, no problem )
Zegangani  [author] 3 Mar, 2021 @ 3:18pm
@Lorelei I just uploaded it because I noticed that I forgot to mark it as RnF & GS compatible. I didn't thought that it would break the Game, since I didn't touch the Code. Hence, the Mod might be unsubscribed in the Mod Manager, just check if the Mod is enabled. Sorry for the inconveninece.
If it still doesn't work, you can provide the Modding and Database Logs. You can find them in: C:\User\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VI\Logs.

@Mk Z Sorry I didn't ask for permission first. I thought you're not using your account anymore. I hope it's ok for you. :)
Cosmic_River 3 Mar, 2021 @ 2:47pm
Hmm. Not working, apparently. I just got beat on the Hanging Garden. What do you need from me to troubleshoot?
Mk Z 3 Mar, 2021 @ 12:02am
👍🏻
Telruna 2 Mar, 2021 @ 11:50pm
Love it!
Cosmic_River 2 Mar, 2021 @ 6:33pm
Thank you!
