Forgot to say, the exhaust values are above 1 but the manifold is 0L/s
Sleeper____ 22 Feb @ 5:52pm
Also my engine doesn't work, it says it's outputting more air and fuel that is actually inside it, and listed volumes of both are below 0.01. Stays at around 1.1 RPS regardless of the desired idle. Really wish this engine adjusted to the desired idle/throttle rather than the AFR.
Sleeper____ 22 Feb @ 5:47pm
You can't actually set the AFR to the recommended 14:4 (3.5:1), at least from what I understand. Unless you meant 14.4.

Hello, could i use this on my vehicle? I will give credit ofc.
bartakrisztian85 30 Jul, 2024 @ 5:52am
Engine Rps always skyrockets and then falls stalling the engine

Help! My engines are ceeping overheating. An electric radiator have to be enough to run a small 4 cylinder engine
Bobmiller764 17 Sep, 2023 @ 11:24am
also the seat ecu seems to work fine, its just this ecu that i cant get to work
Bobmiller764 17 Sep, 2023 @ 11:23am
i cant seem to keep the engine running, it'll run for 5 seconds then kill itself slowly. the ecu constantly says to much fuel no matter what i try. anyone got any idea's?
Disguised Monkey 25 Aug, 2023 @ 8:30pm
The less than connected to the idle rps is not connected to any on/off output.
braydenmccolligan2 7 Jul, 2023 @ 4:25pm
You Need A Air Intake Manifold And Connect That To The Air Throttle Node Of The ECU
dagger4k 5 Jul, 2023 @ 8:01pm
hey i have a 5x5 inline 6 im trying to run on this the ecu is telling me a amount of fuel is going in but no air i dont have a charger on it but should get some air what am i missing
RamRiley 6 Jun, 2023 @ 1:36am
When using this controller for me I connected the key to the on/off on the micro-controller and also connected the key to the starter on the engine not using the micro-controller otherwise the starter would turn off every time.
cvoshall 7 Apr, 2023 @ 6:41pm
Btw for anyone having problems with the engine cutting off, check that you still have your starter on because if you dont it kills the engine
MCxTRAPxPANDA 13 Feb, 2023 @ 11:14am
For anyone having the issue of your engine shutting off after a bit, it's likely you haven't connected a cylinder to the composite channel of the ECU, after you connect all your data nodes switch to composite logic and one will tell you to connect it to a single cylinder so it can read AFR data, otherwise it'll eventually kill the engine
??? 4 Feb, 2023 @ 12:36pm
About every 4 seconds it looses 0.100
??? 4 Feb, 2023 @ 12:13pm
The microcontroller reduces the amount of fuel being fed to the engine, why does this happen? It eventually kills the engine due to it not having enough fuel.
IcyPandora69450 10 Dec, 2022 @ 12:59pm
@mtgoat.888 You have to set the rpm in the controller to Idle at 15 rps, then it should start up fine
mtgoat.888 1 Nov, 2022 @ 10:09am
So, when I control the clutch manually, my engine fires up successfully. When the clutch is hooked up to the ECU it can't start. I can't figure out why.
Vipus 11 Oct, 2022 @ 9:35am
please update
marble 16 Sep, 2022 @ 9:20pm
this shit isnt managing the AFR at all. set AFR to 13.8 and it just chills at 16.... hello ecu do ur job!!!
Sable Winters 15 Jun, 2022 @ 8:45am
Seems to starve the engine when you throttle and let it spin up high and immediately cut throttle. It will cut the air and fuel to throttle back and... stay there? And stay there, and stay there, and it's stalled... And it's starting starting starting starting but no air or fuel because Stoichiometric is still 1 instead of -0.2 or something more reasonable. I am not good with math, or understanding scripting languages and even if Stormworks turns it into literal legos I still struggle to figure out what the issue is...
MHick 14 Jun, 2022 @ 10:14pm
Can we use this on our builds with credit?
NotSoHonestAbe 13 Jun, 2022 @ 8:19am
@GT_Eleanor did you check that the composite input for engine data was connected to the engine?
Ianvulture 2 Jun, 2022 @ 11:58am
@ammo pack, make sure that the composite is hooked up to the engine one and not the transmission one, thats usually what gets me
Ammo Pack 2 Jun, 2022 @ 11:25am
Nothing works. Ive recreated your tut engine and it still says too much fuel.
Dark Spirit 30 May, 2022 @ 4:49pm
Hello @MrNJersey, i´m a big fan. You actually taught me play Stormworks in a way even the game can´t do at all.
I´m using your controller. In a 1x1 18 cyl boxer engine with a flywheel and no electric engine, it runs perfect.
In a 3x3 12 cyl T-shape engine with no flywheel but with the electric engine, it was running fine for several tests... Then I notice the MC sets the clutch pressure to 1 when I turn the key on (don´t know if did it before; the engine always turns on), and at the very moment the engine starts, the MC drops the clutch to 0, letting the engine unable to power anything.
I checked ALL several times, tried to copy the small engine building and settings with the 3x3 components but nothing works.
The only way I´ve found to "solve" the issue is making the engine clutch manual (Now the 3x3 engine has a flywheel too but no electric engine)
Please, can You (or someone else) give me a hand?
Thank you very much for your good work, time and effort.

Everything works great so far except that I cant seem to get reverse to work. When i switch to reverse and throttle, I get nothing. any tips?
Ianvulture 11 May, 2022 @ 12:52pm
ive been using it on 3x3 engines and have had no issues, i actually find them far more efficient than 1x1
Croneman 18 Apr, 2022 @ 10:24am
For those people who are suffering from the engine going to Max revs (around 60) and staying there - Check your throttle settings. It relies on a decimal throttle.... so 0 min, 1 max. :)
It took me FAR too long to realise this...... and I work with numbers all day!! XD

Great piece of kit now I've worked that out!!!
GT_Eleanor 10 Apr, 2022 @ 10:48pm
Controller appears to broken, no matter what i do to fuel and air plumbing engine will not run, ECU reads too much fuel no matter what. ive respawned controllers, rewired engines, rebuilt all plumbing, everything i can think of. These controllers are in a boat that was running last update, whats going on?
Ianvulture 7 Apr, 2022 @ 5:12am
make sure that your engine composite is connected to the engine composite on the mc and not the transmission composite, thats been my biggest issue lol
Mr.Melon 1 Apr, 2022 @ 6:40am
The MC always reads no fuel, what is the solution to this?
Ianvulture 21 Mar, 2022 @ 4:08am
make it so the throttle doesnt go over 20
CanoegunGeoff. 5 Mar, 2022 @ 8:59pm
How do I add an RPS limiter to prevent the engine RPS from exceeding 20?
cardboardtruck1000 24 Feb, 2022 @ 12:56pm
yeah me niether
noor safure 24 Feb, 2022 @ 9:42am
i cant see it in the game
Husmus 16 Feb, 2022 @ 7:25am
we need rps cap
rpgmoods 14 Feb, 2022 @ 1:22pm
When i roll back throttle all the way it drop rps and activates my starter. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?
Cerburous 9 Feb, 2022 @ 11:50am
Does not work as intended. The clutch is set to 1 on startup. I expected better from you.
Ianvulture 12 Jan, 2022 @ 8:59am
mine seems to work, except even when the throttle is set to 0.25 it produces enough thrust to flip my boat on take off. if i manage to SLOWLY get up to .25 it seems okay, not sure what im doing wrong or if i just made it too powerfull
unforgiven3091 9 Jan, 2022 @ 2:22pm
Connect the composite
Brentshil 19 Dec, 2021 @ 8:09am
Ive had the issue of the Air:Fuel Ratio climbing until it stalls, your controller keeps telling me there is too much fuel. I've done everything I can think of including disconnecting the fuel completely and it still reads too much fuel O.O
Casper Poor 12 Nov, 2021 @ 4:48pm
Because Input signal to be processed tells nothing.
Casper Poor 12 Nov, 2021 @ 4:47pm
Fun fact, I am an idiot and wasted around 5 hours for tweaking my two vehicles thinking that I fucked something in engine construction, came out that my problem was in composite not connected, It's my fault but can you please add (for other idiots like me) description under Engine Data composite Input "Connect to one of pistons"

--Splitting my comment since steam doesn't allow 1000+ words apparently.

So I edited it and removed that 'and' in the top left and replaced it with a up/down counter which increases the clutch incrementally if the same RPS/throttle threshold checks are NOT true (aka if the engine is not starting or has low RPM.) and the up/down counter resets when they are true.

Not sure why the Add was there or if it was intentional for some reason but it seemed counter productive for engine start-up and wouldn't start my 6 cylinder 3x3 engine for my boat which has a 1x1 flywheel.

Here is the edited version, but I'm hoping you'll see this comment and update it accordingly if it wasn't intentional, and judging by your activity here I don't doubt you won't see it.

MrNJersey,

There seems to be a problem with how you have the clutch set-up where it is enabled (set to 1) during engine start-up/low RPM - this makes the engine struggle/take longer to start up, and with heavy gearing, makes it not want to reach sufficient RPMs in order to start.

In the top left of your MC it essentially adds 1 to the clutch from the RPM/Throttle and/or checks in the bottom left for the 'Electric engine start' which sets the clutch to 1 during start-up/no-to-low throttle which should really be the opposite.
