Sad that this mod received no update in a long time. But I am not a modder myself, more like a code monkey at best)) so... I can't help with updating it.

I don't demand you to make an update right now, chop-chop and all that. I'm no fool - we all have lives outside of games and internet.

Nevertheless, I wish to express my eternal gratitude for this mod and your hard work. Even a blind could see how much time and effort was spent on it.

@Wolves in the Throne Room I am currently in the process of assessing what native american content is being worked on already for CK3 as I have been planning to create a pre-columbian americas mod project if none such thing exists. Could I be invited to the discord there to see if anyone is okay with me collaborating with the people there?

@Wolves in the Throne Room : Thanks for the message, that's really cool to hear. After the End was my favorite mod in CK2 and been waiting for its public release on the CK3 side.
I sent a reply on the Steam webchat too since my Steam community features haven't been working since like 2016 on the client.

This is epic! We have to talk, I'm working on a submod for the After the End mod set in North and South America (the map is ready and the mod is well on the way to being ready) and YOU need to join the mod team!

It's a huge and well organized mod team and there is no pressure. I've quietly been working on a Native American submod that if it is ready in time for the launch it hopefully will just be incorporated straight in.

Native factions are already in the ATE mod, I am adding historical detail for them. Don't worry about research and knowledge I've got that 100% covered, if you are knowledgeable as well even better.

I sent you a friend request, let's talk and I can get you on the ATE discord mod server, I want to work with you in making the native factions epic!

It's pretty bare bones at the moment since the whole continent is still in placeholder mode and not done in Crusader Universalis. The playable characters I've added to Northern Ohio, Southern Lake Erie west of Cleveland.

I agree and it would be cool to see some real nations on the map.

I took a closer look at the US part and there's no cultures, realms or religions added for the Americas in Crusader Universalis yet.
It's all held by one character for each continent currently. While the few thousand holdings can be broken up to be held separately they all only have placeholder cultures and religions. So there'd be nobody to play against in those portions of the map.

Unlike the Universalis mod this mod's culture, language, religion and premise are made up as there's nothing known about any of the actual cultures that existed back then, even in 1444.
So there's nothing really to go on to add anybody real. I have previously made attempts to introduce another culture/religion into this mod but I kinda keep stumbling on a lack of ideas distinct enough. (Plus the lack of ability to properly execute them)

Although as a test of concept why not. I'll create a compatch and see how it goes from there.

Native Americans could travel to Europe like an Event, Which the Chieftain of the Tribe could visit the Europe Lands, etc. Native Americans do not belong in Europe since that isn't realistic at all but since Crusader Universalis is adding Americas and North America, I can see it to be realistic-history.

Since Americas and North America is being added, I think this mod would be very appropriate to Crusader Universalis. Like Cherokee land, Wyoming Land. Including different Native American Tribes like Wyandot, Catawba, Abenaki and many more. since it is gonna be with a different system which Gunpowder will be coming, I think the Native Americans as time go on, That Europeans could trade Tomahawks and Firearms to the Native American Tribes.

@John Dillon : Yeah I think that should be doable but since Crusader Universalis adds the Americas in the game do you think I'd then move this mod's contents in the compatibility patch straight over to the Midwest ?

Or keep em in Europe but also add some rulers in the States portion of the map ?

The mod's updated now. I decided to upload it now rather than just before calling it a night and well isn't it midnight on the other side of the world ?

There's a few added items like headbands and earrings for women of this culture and a bow and a second knife model for males.
Plus the previously unavailable hairstyle addon parts are now selectable in the Barbershop under 'Hair Extras'.

For the vikings, well some do look out of place and some look like straight out of the show vikings. Some work better with the helmets, some with beards and some as intended. Really depends on wich a character gets.

and to the totomec, I mean why not? You said it yourself, more choice for players, but i think some fitting to other cultures would be needed too. Many cultures and religions around the globe did/do tattoos, so there should be great sources to work with.

@IN005 Yeah, I think it was a good idea to tie it to the religion like you suggested in your original comment.

I'm unsure how well the body and face paints would work with like say the Vikings since the current paints are, while imaginary and made up like the culture, still intended to complement a certain type of look.
But then again why not, more choice for players.

I think however I will look into making body and face paints selectable in the uh Barbershop if that's possible first.

Do you think personally you'd also want the Mesoamerican inspired Totomec body and face paints/tattoos (from the Mesoamerican Guinea mod) included in such a standalone mod ?

I really love that you tied it to the religion, playing a norse character with that religion to have awesome face paintings while raiding the viking way :D

Tbh it could be an awesome standalone for other cultures to look better, like vikings

Updated to allow target adult male characters to wear face and body paint thru the 'Customize' character interaction. Target needs to be of this culture or of a faith under the religion.

Can now also use the 'Customize' interaction under its topmost option to disable default hair for the character if you're using the Barbershop to set the hairstyle.

To be able to use the Barbershop on ANY character I recommend the Fullscreen Barbershop mod : https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2220326926
If you do, place it above this mod in the load order in the Launcher.

Could you please make the face and body paints part of the religion? I often recruit captured warriors if they have good stats and force them to convert (basicly what the native americans did with caputured children), equip them with the clothing but can't give them face paints.

Or add an option to forcibly convert their culture aswell.

I recommend using the Fullscreen Barbershop mod https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2220326926 to better handle the increased number of Barbershop categories.

If you do, place it above this mod in the load order in the Launcher.

No additional compatch needed. Only issue between the mods is not being able to select character poses directly in the Barbershop but you can use the 'Customize' character interaction to select some poses for male characters of this culture.

Comment Part 1/2 :
@Noblesse : The Ethnicities and Portraits Expanded compatch makes this mod compatible with the EPE, and while the CFP compatch makes this mod compatible with the Community Flavor Pack, together they modify the same files. Notably the same gene and clothing lists etc.

It's likely you'll run into issues if you're using this mod + the EPE + the CFP all at the same time since they override each other.
To make it smooth I'd need to make a three way compatch like exists for the Sunset Invasion + CFP and this mod.

Problem is that both the EPE and the CFP make extensive changes, frankly a huge amount of mutually incompatible changes, to clothes, hair, headgear.

I'll look into detaching this mod from using the current gene system for clothes and hair for example so making an all comprehensive compatch would be possible and less time consuming (or error prone) to maintain.
I've discovered that the game does not actually care if "hair" is set in the hairstyle genes or if you categorize it as accessories for example; mostly the same with the rest.

KhalO : Yeah might be cool in someplace like Tibet but biggest roadblock currently is the lack of clothing/accessory models that I can extract from vanilla.

There's not much that has suitable shapes to fit Inca clothing and headgear even remotely.

Although since the Inca wouldn't have really been a big thing during the game's starting dates I could go with a precursor like imitation culture whose stuff would only have a passing resemblance to any later getups worn by actual people that existed.

Plus I already have these two made up cultures going in two separate mods and I'm kinda out of workable ideas for events and content so I've just been adding 3D assets here and there.

Never gotten very far with learning any languages since it takes such a huge amount of effort so that sounds great. I really hope those (and any other such) languages get added since Google Translate seems to be the big online translation thing everybody's using. Might make other translation services follow suit.

Yeah maybe once it's less in flux. It's still currently more a modding aid and heavily incomplete. Plus it might be more worthwhile studying the real Native American languages.

I guess the Discord thing would be cool since if there's questions solely about the language it might feel out of place in the mod's comments section - though not like it's getting spammy at the moment anyhow.

Voxsmash : The way the Cheshkawanee language is made up to look and sound is based mainly on the Algonquian family of languages. Similarities are superficial since the way words and sentences are constructed and modified is not the same.

I did not want to use any real cultures or languages for the mod but in order to make up names for titles and characters I had to decide on a way the language of this culture would look like in game. I also wanted to avoid using any special characters since I wasn't sure how they'd show on the map. I've kept an ongoing vocabulary .TXT file updated on the mod's Paradox Forums page.
