Sorry if it did dude. I haven't touched this mod in over 8 years.
The last time I played it, sometime back in 2020? .. it was still working perfectly fine.

@zeo1337
Thanks for playing my map, unfortunately I only ever got around to releasing this one map and a slighty buggy multiplayer version of this map found here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=349872742

Plenty of unfinished maps back at the time. I no longer have those files and/or Portal 2 installed on my machine, maybe one day I might return to making maps for Portal 2.

How can I find more of your maps? your profile is private
RustyDios  [author] 21 Dec, 2017 @ 11:19am
Hello, thanks for playing my map. Unfortunately I no longer have Portal 2 installed and it has been ages since I last played it (and even longer since I created and uploaded this map).

IIRC the puzzle elements were pretty linear, one cube from each of the four rooms, and the one given in the entry hallway. Can you please describe in more detail how you are missing a cube or which one you couldn't "save" from the puzzle rooms?
cochetmichel49 21 Dec, 2017 @ 4:58am
Hello ! Very very beautifull map ! At the las end, could not find the 5th cube to finish....A hint?

Screenshots look amazing... can't wait to play.

@RustyDios Now that I'm going over it, it may not be fully broken, but there are things that you can do a little faster with different strats. I'll still show you. Accept my friend request, so I can show you stuff and other stuff
RustyDios  [author] 27 Oct, 2014 @ 6:09am
Please do upload a video. I'd love to see how someone I don't know runs through the map.
Cloud Doggo 16 Sep, 2014 @ 2:34pm
Awesome, but it's kinda broken. Not many people will be able to do it (if they even figure it out), because not that many people are speedrunners. So it's not important. But I just wanted to let you know. I can upload a video if you want me to.
vioray 18 Aug, 2014 @ 5:16am
I couldn't get high enough to reach it to try to shift it myself, I didn't think of trying to noclip it at the time. I've put the map back in my queue though so I'll give it another go, restarting from scratch instead of an autosave may turn out better. I might wait until I get my PC upgraded though as the level does lag a fair bit on my fossil of a computer (it's so old that a RAM upgrade means either forking out for DDR2 or upgrading 90% of the components so I can use DDR3 instead)

@vioray:
Wha?.. Just.. What?.... How in the hell has that happened? ..... All the fizzlers use the exact same logic setup. I just don't understand this at all. There should be no-way for the ball to sit on-top of a red fizzler. It'll only turn red AFTER the blocking wall has slid away.

I'm wondering if it's somehow getting caught on the wall?... Can you grab the ball and pull it through the red fizzler or is it truely stuck there? ... I can't even replicate this to test it, it just works for me without any issues... but I'd like to understand and fix what is happening here so other people don't get the same bug... ...

@nigel: why in the world were you playing with mat_fullbright 1 on?... it really detracts from the custom light setup that mappers go to great lengths to adjust/perfect. I'm happy the exit portal didn't crash for you though. I'm still curious how you got to the 4person area, were you no-clipping?
CDR F. Cadigan 17 Aug, 2014 @ 6:08pm
i got the the exit it did not crash
CDR F. Cadigan 17 Aug, 2014 @ 6:07pm
holy shit the mat_fullbright 1 it hurt my eyes
vioray 17 Aug, 2014 @ 3:26pm
all the others worked fine, was only the bottom one that didn't. I tried it a few times and the same thing happened regardless of what order I did the portals/beacon/laser-port-thing
screenshot
RustyDios  [author] 17 Aug, 2014 @ 2:20pm
That is odd.. once the fizzler turns red there should be nothing stopping the ball from dropping through. I'll look into it. Can you give me any other details?... Did the other fizzler have any problems? Was the laser beam already lined up before you placed the portals or did you have the portals set up first? Did the laser catcher activate/deactivate/activate quickly? Was there any messages in the console about relays possibly not firing?

I changed some of the logic in the fizzler instances so they can recall what state they are in post load game. It's possible I messed something up. I'm only human... ...
vioray 17 Aug, 2014 @ 10:50am
this map does get a bit laggy for me, but my computer is in need of an upgrade, still it's rare for a Portal 2 map to take it to the limits
anyway, in the red room (room 2) I seem to have hit a bug. I've got the sphere to drop through most of the grills but it's stuck on the last one even once both activators are lasered and the grill turns red
RustyDios  [author] 14 Aug, 2014 @ 12:04pm
You would have seen Chell, Atlas, P-body and Bendy.. in a generic "pre-cache player model for selection area", that is only accessable by no-clipping and should be pitch black unless you turned mat_fullbright to 1.

I'm glad you liked the map so much to go no-clipping about for exploration, but please tell me if you came across this area without those methods.. because that means I have a bug to squish ... ...
CDR F. Cadigan 13 Aug, 2014 @ 9:42pm
i saw chell pebody atlis someone els
RustyDios  [author] 4 Aug, 2014 @ 5:34am
Thanks wildgoosespeeder !!
It is very possible that you experienced no crashing because you never "died/reloaded" the map....

I've made some changes, trying to fix the various bugs and implement some of the comments made. Maybe room 4 will provide a bit of brainwork now, maybe not. I find it quite difficult to make a good complex puzzle, but I do enjoy making maps in Hammer. I'm sorry you found it tediously easy, at least your feedback is honest. It gives me something to improve upon for my next map. Try to make a better puzzle! :)

Still happy all you people have played and enjoyed the map. Couldn't ask for anything more then that.
wildgoosespeeder 17 Jul, 2014 @ 9:24pm
Oh yeah, people were reporting crashes. I did not experience any.
wildgoosespeeder 17 Jul, 2014 @ 9:23pm
I can see you know how to use Hammer very well. That could be a problem because it my experience playing through this map, you may have went overboard. Let me explain why. When I looked at the colored rooms, it looked interesting at first, the more I played, the more obnoxious it got.

The red room I thought I got stuck because suddenly the piston platforms were sparking. The red doesn't provide enough contrast to tell the difference between portalable and non-portalable surfaces because the surface colors range from white to tan.

Some rooms have arbitrary rules, more so in the magenta room. I found several ways to drop the cube onto the cube button but you scripted one "correct" way, which feels like a cheap attempt to ward off alternate solutions.

Overall, the chamber is tediously easy. I was expecting some sort of logical challenge. It's a good Hammer map, I'll give you that, just the puzzle aspect is very lacking.

Still trying to figure out that elevator crash problem. Sorry.
Thanks for playing however and glad you all enjoyed the map.
Elmar 4 Apr, 2014 @ 12:17pm
great map! crashed at exit, but ok!
dok 3 Apr, 2014 @ 3:16pm
Great game, really enjoyed but also crashed at exit elevator. THX.
jeffvrba 1 Apr, 2014 @ 5:00pm
Great map, thanks for making it.
GraveNoX 31 Mar, 2014 @ 2:01am
Yeah, game crashed like yours, in front of the elevator, but I redownload it to give credit.
Unowninator 30 Mar, 2014 @ 4:38pm
And the game crashed just before I walked into the elevator. Although something else crashed at the same time, so it may just be unrelated to this map.

But otherwise, this level is great.
Unowninator 30 Mar, 2014 @ 4:35pm
Nice so far, but is the last room supposed to be this easy? All I have to do is walk the lightbridge, and drop the cube/sphere underneath it. I didn't need to use the Aerial Faith Plates, or the timed-buttons at all.

@Everyone :)
Thanks for playing and enjoying the map.
Good news: I think I've solved the fizzler states bug after a load game ...
Bad News: the elevator crash bug only seems to happen on a saved/loaded game...
... I haven't got a clue whats causing it :(
GraveNoX 30 Mar, 2014 @ 9:32am
Mindblowing chamber! Very good puzzles!
Malfaction 29 Mar, 2014 @ 6:38pm
I ran into this bug and the game tries to restore from save but crashes. I have gone to far to start over.
RustyDios  [author] 29 Mar, 2014 @ 5:55pm
Finally got the map to crash (three times too! ) at the exit elevator. I think it has something to do with timing issues, the game attempts to deactivate a game_ui before it becomes active. Maybe. Still investigating... .. Sorry to anyone that runs into this nasty little bug.. :(
RustyDios  [author] 29 Mar, 2014 @ 5:51pm
Well at least after a day of attempted bug-squishing I've figured out how to get a sphere into the main hall... seems I have a major problem on loading from a save game messing up the current active state of a fizzler... looking into solving this, although I'm not sure how to. Didn't think about loading from a random save state, only from the auto-saves... sorry, further bug-testing obviously required on my part ...
presto668 29 Mar, 2014 @ 5:11pm
Pretty good. I had a couple minor problems. I got stuck inside a door because I decided to turn around and go back at the last second. I would remove the slight pauses -- it makes it feel 'sticky'. In the room with the laser relays at one point the lifts got stuck in the 'up' position, but I was able to work around that. And in the 4th room, something weird was going on with the rotating arms. A couple times I dropped a cube on the left one only to have it rotate back and throw it out.
scrolte 29 Mar, 2014 @ 2:20pm
Amazing, it has it's flaws, but amazing nonetheless. :O
Shadmark 29 Mar, 2014 @ 12:07pm
@protoborg the third room is solve able, if you think good and look around very closely it is possible to finish it. the fourth room is like a time challenge with the buttons and the pressure plate when you try and launch the cube into it

the only annoying thing is that if it gets launched too hard it flies out and you have to do it over again

+ the elevator is a little bugging. my game just shut itself down befor i could tumb up the map xD
Asheeeee 29 Mar, 2014 @ 11:58am
when i was trying to get the cube from the first room, the door was blocked completely. If you can fix this, thanks.
Echo 29 Mar, 2014 @ 11:50am
I couldn't get very far because the elevator in the first room got stuck in the up position. It went up and back down with no issue when I went up to place teh ball but then I accidently ran over it a second time on my way to grab the cube and it went up and never came back down. Seeemed like a cool chamber though.
not-paradiser 28 Mar, 2014 @ 9:57pm
@protoborg actually all the rooms are solvable unless there are unusual bugs occurred.
@RustyDios I replayed the map and find that there is no music issues. It was supposed to be chamber 2 for the first time I played the map there are 2 same music playing off sync.Maybe the bugs don't occur every time ~ Anyway still a few be done, especially the annoying debug ~_~
protoborg 28 Mar, 2014 @ 6:05pm
The third room is unsolvable. The sphere button beneath the fizzler is completely inaccessible since their is no way to deactivate the fizzler. There is also no way to actually get mover to the sphere button in the first place. The fourth room is very frustrating becasue you can't place the cube without resetting the rotating columns. I had to cheat my way through the last two rooms. In fact, I didn't even actually finish the final room. I just cheated up a cube for the exit button. Also,k after doing so the elevator crashed the game.
RustyDios  [author] 28 Mar, 2014 @ 4:55pm
@quaternary ...
Room 1: Yeah working on that bug :)
Room 2: The piston platform should lower soon after you step off, unless it's "broken with sparks flying out of it"... upon which case, intentional part of puzzle, what did you need to get up there for ?
RustyDios  [author] 28 Mar, 2014 @ 4:47pm
@Stormageddon... And ...finally.. how did you get a sphere into the main hall ? The spheres are used to switch the fizzler so you can take out that rooms cube, they need to be left behind to get the cube out. At any point if you try to take a sphere out it should get fizzled... no spheres in the main hall...hence it doesn't matter if the buttons accept them ...It is something I will change in case it does happen...

Thanks for the feedback ! :) !
RustyDios  [author] 28 Mar, 2014 @ 4:47pm
@Stormageddon ... wow! Did you try to break as many things as you could :) I had not planned that a cube could be lost in the door. The doors are world portals with a small area of space behind them. Each door pauses the player for 1/5 second while they ensure the world portal is linked before the prop opens. In testing this also stopped rapid open/close from missing a world portal link. I'm not sure how you got around that... Did they link up correctly eventually?

Oddly... the same pause is used when the elevators are put in motion, you shouldn't have any inputs to be able to jump out! ... had you been no-clippling around ?
quat 28 Mar, 2014 @ 4:38pm
Room 1: Grab the portal gun, quicksave, then run into the laserfields. They don't respawn when you reload.
Room 2: Get on the piston platform thing and hop off the back of the raised section (close to the laser emitter). Run back around to the pistons. You can't get back up :(
RustyDios  [author] 28 Mar, 2014 @ 4:29pm
@PHILADELPHIA F****** SUCKS ... Thanks for playing. Glad you liked it :)

@Freeman|TR ... I could do with some more information there... the rooms are clearly labelled 1,2,3,4 (or colour coded: yellow/cream, red/orange, blue/white, pink/purple or even by style of puzzle/elements)... "the music in one chamber" isn't really helpful, unless you refferring to chamber one, upon which this could be a minor communications error :)
Also does it crash on entry or exit elevators?

@Mr. Crowley (and Freeman|TR) ... out of 50(ish, I lost count at 30) playthroughs... not one crash.. anywhere... I can't solve a crash problem if I can't replicate it to find out what is going wrong and when.. sorry :(
not-paradiser 28 Mar, 2014 @ 11:30am
I'm sure this one will be listed as the best ones , just piece of art !Mapping artist dude.
But still something imperfect. The music in one chamber is messing up.And when I run this map my game always go wrong (not crash) and finally crash when the elevator door closes.Don't know if it is the problem of my own or the map.
