The last time I played it, sometime back in 2020? .. it was still working perfectly fine.
Thanks for playing my map, unfortunately I only ever got around to releasing this one map and a slighty buggy multiplayer version of this map found here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=349872742
Plenty of unfinished maps back at the time. I no longer have those files and/or Portal 2 installed on my machine, maybe one day I might return to making maps for Portal 2.
IIRC the puzzle elements were pretty linear, one cube from each of the four rooms, and the one given in the entry hallway. Can you please describe in more detail how you are missing a cube or which one you couldn't "save" from the puzzle rooms?
Wha?.. Just.. What?.... How in the hell has that happened? ..... All the fizzlers use the exact same logic setup. I just don't understand this at all. There should be no-way for the ball to sit on-top of a red fizzler. It'll only turn red AFTER the blocking wall has slid away.
I'm wondering if it's somehow getting caught on the wall?... Can you grab the ball and pull it through the red fizzler or is it truely stuck there? ... I can't even replicate this to test it, it just works for me without any issues... but I'd like to understand and fix what is happening here so other people don't get the same bug... ...
@nigel: why in the world were you playing with mat_fullbright 1 on?... it really detracts from the custom light setup that mappers go to great lengths to adjust/perfect. I'm happy the exit portal didn't crash for you though. I'm still curious how you got to the 4person area, were you no-clipping?

I changed some of the logic in the fizzler instances so they can recall what state they are in post load game. It's possible I messed something up. I'm only human... ...
anyway, in the red room (room 2) I seem to have hit a bug. I've got the sphere to drop through most of the grills but it's stuck on the last one even once both activators are lasered and the grill turns red
I'm glad you liked the map so much to go no-clipping about for exploration, but please tell me if you came across this area without those methods.. because that means I have a bug to squish ... ...
It is very possible that you experienced no crashing because you never "died/reloaded" the map....
I've made some changes, trying to fix the various bugs and implement some of the comments made. Maybe room 4 will provide a bit of brainwork now, maybe not. I find it quite difficult to make a good complex puzzle, but I do enjoy making maps in Hammer. I'm sorry you found it tediously easy, at least your feedback is honest. It gives me something to improve upon for my next map. Try to make a better puzzle! :)
Still happy all you people have played and enjoyed the map. Couldn't ask for anything more then that.
The red room I thought I got stuck because suddenly the piston platforms were sparking. The red doesn't provide enough contrast to tell the difference between portalable and non-portalable surfaces because the surface colors range from white to tan.
Some rooms have arbitrary rules, more so in the magenta room. I found several ways to drop the cube onto the cube button but you scripted one "correct" way, which feels like a cheap attempt to ward off alternate solutions.
Overall, the chamber is tediously easy. I was expecting some sort of logical challenge. It's a good Hammer map, I'll give you that, just the puzzle aspect is very lacking.
Thanks for playing however and glad you all enjoyed the map.
But otherwise, this level is great.
Thanks for playing and enjoying the map.
Good news: I think I've solved the fizzler states bug after a load game ...
Bad News: the elevator crash bug only seems to happen on a saved/loaded game...
... I haven't got a clue whats causing it :(
the only annoying thing is that if it gets launched too hard it flies out and you have to do it over again
+ the elevator is a little bugging. my game just shut itself down befor i could tumb up the map xD
@RustyDios I replayed the map and find that there is no music issues. It was supposed to be chamber 2 for the first time I played the map there are 2 same music playing off sync.Maybe the bugs don't occur every time ~ Anyway still a few be done, especially the annoying debug ~_~
Room 1: Yeah working on that bug :)
Room 2: The piston platform should lower soon after you step off, unless it's "broken with sparks flying out of it"... upon which case, intentional part of puzzle, what did you need to get up there for ?
Thanks for the feedback ! :) !
Oddly... the same pause is used when the elevators are put in motion, you shouldn't have any inputs to be able to jump out! ... had you been no-clippling around ?
Room 2: Get on the piston platform thing and hop off the back of the raised section (close to the laser emitter). Run back around to the pistons. You can't get back up :(
@Freeman|TR ... I could do with some more information there... the rooms are clearly labelled 1,2,3,4 (or colour coded: yellow/cream, red/orange, blue/white, pink/purple or even by style of puzzle/elements)... "the music in one chamber" isn't really helpful, unless you refferring to chamber one, upon which this could be a minor communications error :)
Also does it crash on entry or exit elevators?
@Mr. Crowley (and Freeman|TR) ... out of 50(ish, I lost count at 30) playthroughs... not one crash.. anywhere... I can't solve a crash problem if I can't replicate it to find out what is going wrong and when.. sorry :(
But still something imperfect. The music in one chamber is messing up.And when I run this map my game always go wrong (not crash) and finally crash when the elevator door closes.Don't know if it is the problem of my own or the map.
