To the creator, please add validation before grabbing values from the config

The error was related the the config file being empty, after pasting in the settings it fixed it.

The config file can be found here: %AppData%\Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Storage\2426611028.sbm_Accelerometer/Accelerometer.cfg

If it is empty paste the follwing:
Unit = AccelUnit.Metric
Autohide = true

this fixed it for me.

I have all the DLC. I'm also running with a bunch of other mods installed and haven't done my due diligence of testing the mod by itself. Looking at my mod list, there's nothing that stands out that might impact it, but I don't know for sure.

@ACGspartan117 it shouldn't no. I can't reproduce with or without the plugin version +- the mod version. Also load order doesn't seem to matter. Only thing I can think is if you have the DLC?

I've got it enabled in the plugin loader under mods, as well as a mod attached to the world. Should I use one but not the other? Also, does the load order with TextHudAPI matter?

I cannot reproduce this issue. I have no errors and the texthudapi config stuff works fine. Two questions: 1) does this happen for anyone using it as a mod and not as a plugin and 2) does this happen for anyone without the DLC?

Same as comment below; "Accelerometer errer: Object Reference not set to an instance of an object" appears in chat every minute or so. Also no accelerometer on the HUD, and nothing under the config menu in TextHudAPI

would this plugin work in conjunction with any HUD mod i have installed? Does it just change something that is used by the HUD or change part of the HUD itself, is i guess what i am asking?

@Natomic I was wondering if you could add two more lines, one with Time to Stop and another with Distance to Stop just above and maybe make it so in chat they can be displayed or not. eg: "/Acc_Stop_On" and "/Acc_Dist_Off" etc...

Broke with the latest bug fix. Cannot load worlds and gives an error instead.

If this can be run without server side code, I would recommend adding it to plugin loader. You can add it with an xml file in the github repo. For example: https://github.com/sepluginloader/PluginHub/blob/main/Plugins/Mods/HudLcd.xml

Thanks for letting me know that could be handled with a script, I found one already made. It only changes gravity from between 0 and 1 g but it does the job of basically faking thrust gravity.

@Abisius Could you open an issue on the github repo for Deadly Acceleration. Also if you havn't reloaded the world yet, make a copy of the log ("%appdata%\SpaceEngineers\Storage\2422178213.sbm_DeadlyAccel") (it gets overwrriten on world load) and upload it in the issue on github

i just keep on track if i report something and help as much as i can to fix it.
i did run fro mthe buildung with the refinerys inside towards the defencewall and back, could be that i sometimes hit a lamp while turning.

@Abisius Wow that is dedication. I wonder, were you clipping on the lights or the corners of the connector dip? That's the most likely cause I can think of (the mechanism to detect blocks under the player is inconsistant with sharp edges or small hitboxes)

hmm, i get 200-260 with a turnaround, sometimes even a 400
testet also aroudn a bit and it seams to be extreamly case sensitiv, only managed to damage myself after 370 times trying.
in the end i was 4103 tries till i managed to kill myself that way again, so as long as no very bad timin happens it is survivable :)

@Abisus Having trouble reproducing that, is it still happeing for you? I can get the 150-200 accel from a quick turnaround while walking but I don't take any damage

@Abisius Well I fixed the issue with this mod, but I cannot repro the other issue. I know there are problems where if one stands just at the edge of a block or hitbox and then moves you will take damage, there are limits to what I can do to avoid this (currently you are just invulnerable as far as the mod is concerned for a few ticks after standing on a surface, this prevents damage from running off the edge of blocks for example). Could you link me to the base BP?

i was running on earthlike on a flat surface of my base
i speeded up running till i hit max (10m/s) and the accelleration just started dropping and then did a 180° turn to run into the other direction to achieve the self damage

@Abisus I was just about to update this cause I noticed that too :p. For now I am just going to move it, I might be able to make its position customisable later. The running thing I guess relates to Deadly Acceleration. You *should* not take damage if you on blocks or voxels, I have a buncha checks for preciousely that reason (you have insane accel when running). Were you on voxels/a planet?

is there a way to move the acceleration readout to another position? i ask cause it uses the same space as theshield mod form darkstar on the hud causing an overlap and it is problematic to read.

also i damage myself by rust running in one way till i wasnt getitng faster and then turning 180° causing a acceleration of 220m/s² and i only noticed it as i accidentially killed myself that way

@Haven That should be dooable with a script. Not something I am planning to do rn but it's relatively easy to detect grid acceleration (check out the code in this mod for example)

This will really help people like me who are trying to emulate the Expanse. Gonna be way easier to find 0.3 g, 0.6 g, and 1 g with this.

Now all we need is Gravity generators that ramp up and down with corresponding changes in acceleration. This way we could have ships that loose gravity when their engines stop pushing them.
