This is a rather old engine, so it's quite outdated and doesn't work as well as some of my newer engines.

i am very confused because this engine produces as much power as one of your engines wich has only 6 cylinders

Thank you!

yep anyhow it looks really good mate and as i'm trying to build a ship that's ain't running on a gas-turbine, it somehow got me here but hell it looks really good, have fun and keep up the really amazing work

Yes, I've noticed that as well. I think it's the initial reading of the AFR that's messed up or something. Quite frankly, I can't be arsed looking into it any more, it's too much effort to try and fix something that is a game bug. Modulars are a pain to get running properly, so many weird little things you gotta think of, bugs that appear, as well as undocumented features and changes.

well i'm not sure tho after i got it running i was able to turn it back on and it worked fine

Yes, it's an issue I've noticed with all modular engines I've made so far - really not sure what's causing it. It's like the MC can't read the AFR values, they all say 0 on the cylinders... I think it's a bug, or possibly an issue with the specific MC I'm using.

A small thing is that it don't seem to work with infinite fuel on
Kahrstrom  [author] 10 Apr, 2021 @ 1:40pm
Yeah, at high load it's extremely hard to keep modulars cool. They really need to fix it... Try spamming out some more heat exchangers. It can be cooled, but it'll take a lot of coolers.
Kass_Is_Legend 10 Apr, 2021 @ 1:00pm
i took 2 of them, put them next to each other and made a v12 twin luxary speed boat with 2 giant props, runs at a pretty decent speed its just i cant keep them cool
Kahrstrom  [author] 10 Apr, 2021 @ 3:47am
You may need to beef up the cooling of the engine depending on what you are using the engine for. Cooling is still not fixed in Stormworks and thus you will need a very large cooling system for even a very small engine running at low RPM if you put any load on it.

so i connected mine straight into the sea like you said, but i still overheat any thing i possibly did wrong, im confised
Jmunzi 25 Mar, 2021 @ 7:31am
ah ok, i just got confused by them.
Kahrstrom  [author] 25 Mar, 2021 @ 1:04am
The pipes besides the gearbox are simply for decoration, connecting the gearbox part to whatever you will have behind it. You can remove them or connect them up to something. They're purely decorational.
Jmunzi 24 Mar, 2021 @ 8:33pm
sry for this comment but there are 3 pipes i don't understand i got the air and exhaust and gear box for power. what are the ones on the side and bottom for, could u color the to a different color for easier understanding to were they go plz.

A pleasure ;)
kak the protogen 23 Mar, 2021 @ 4:23pm
this is nice someone takin time to build stuff for poeple like me who cant fugure out anything
Kahrstrom  [author] 21 Mar, 2021 @ 2:19pm
Updated to fix some quirks with the cooling system, as well as just generally beefing it up. Make sure to use the latest version to ensure safe operation of your Kahrstrom Marine engine.

Good to hear. Make sure to share when you're done! :)

I figured it out and this is the best creation ever especially for my oil tanker!
Blacky 20 Mar, 2021 @ 10:23pm
So my only issue im having right now is finding the coolant, air, exhaust, and fuel pipes so im like totally confused lol
Kahrstrom  [author] 18 Mar, 2021 @ 2:16pm
They buffed cooling a lot after the shit show, so it should be fine :) If you encounter any issues with it, let me know and I'll beef it up, but it should be enough.
fuchs85ch 18 Mar, 2021 @ 2:06pm
okay... I will try it out... I use much more cooling more or less two 3x3 heat exchangers for each 3x3 cylinder... But if it works I am happy. I will not loose a whole deck to cooling ;-)
Cooling had so many changes... I do not know how to design anymore
Kahrstrom  [author] 18 Mar, 2021 @ 8:36am
Yup, powered and ready for use! The heat exchanger is right in front of the engine, you can see it on the pictures if you look closely.
fuchs85ch 18 Mar, 2021 @ 5:09am
Are there heat exchangers integrated in there?
