idk why but the torpedoes don't turn i did every thing right but they wont turn

in a realistic combaat situation it is inposible to manuver and go withou knowing when you are going to hit a wall or smth and a came on the front would really be usefull

I think you severely underestimate how difficult achieving true neutral buoyancy is. If it was that easy, I'd have implemented it by now.

there should be a neutral buoyancy button, where when you press it it fill the ballasts to a point where it is neutral buoyancy. i would like this so that it is easier for the user to have neutral buoyancy. i think that it might be pretty easy to do, i'm not sure though.

Another idea that could make a new sub more popular would be small customisations such as the name of the sub, and a place for a flag of a country/ allegiance, and to keep it yours you can make the name: (something class nuclear submarine) and then my name of choice, just an idea.

Unfortunately, when you cause a nuclear meltdown(which is what allows the radiation effect to happen) it completely screws up the reactor, and it can't really return to normal functioning. I could include a meltdown switch as a way to scuttle the sub, but as a weapon it wouldn't be worth it. It's far easier to simply lock all hatches to prevent entry.

hey, just had another idea for a weapon that i dont think will effect lag or be very hard to make, ive no idea how radiation works but wile messing around with Pufferfishes torps against a nuclear sub i hit the area were the reactor was allowing radiation to escape however the sub was able to continue as normal(with a bit of flooding) and inside of it there was no radiation only outside, my thought it would it be possible to weaponise this?, like maybe put a hatch that leads the radiation to the outside. its maybe not realistic but it would be useful in multiplayer combat, or against annoying people trying to get on your ship, press the magic button and theres no more annoying people xD

That's actually a pretty good idea, thanks for reminding me. I think that once I get the sub balanced with ballast tanks, it'd be pretty simple to have a stationary depth hold with just some electric motors for going up/down since I no longer have the issue of running outta battery. I think that I'd make that only for stationary depth hold, and have the one for being in motion(above a certain speed) be more standard.

assuming you can keep the sub from rolling/pitching over that should work, tho might move up and down a lot so wont be great on that front

in theory you could have the balast pump i water in at a slow rate when above the desired depth and have it remove it when below, but its keeping it stable that would be hard i think, tho idk im not good with the mechanics of stormworks

one of the things that is exceptionally hard to do with just ballast is having a depth hold which works while stationary, but with infinite power and props, it shouldn't be that hard

If you have infinite power, it seems reasonable to have ballast making the ship near neutral buoyancy and low-power props to keep it at an exact depth

ik it seems useless to have but its fun going into Dragon cavern with and having the ability to park the sub next to a underwater formation, go explore with friends and come back to it were you left it

now that we have nuclear power and its effectivly infinite power at any depth will a depth hold that works wile not moving be possible?, i asked for this before nuclear and you said it would drain on power too fast, asking now because i saw a sub that used 2 depth holds set to 2 buttons, one that used diving planes when moving and im guessing the other used Propellers to keep it stable and at a set depth wile stationary

Great, the less lagg the better, still wont stop kids on servers from spawning huge things and claiming its not them causing the lagg wile sailing a 1:1 scale titanic but hey xD

Update: I'm going to be using Pufferfish's new torpedoes with their fire control as-is, as it is significantly better than anything I could produce by myself. Additionally, to save on logic load, it's not going to have the 4 guidance modes of Atgeir(sonar now works properly so it shouldn't be an issue).

I'll definitely be using Pufferfish's newest torpedoes, but I have yet to really fool around with them enough to know if I want to change their fire control system.

So we know now that this new sub will be Nuclear not much suprise there, will you be adding pufferfishes newer torpedoes as they are or will you be changing them eg the fireing system or anything, also to Appe, make sure your slaving the sonar/radar to the fireing system, and have the sonars/radar FOV pointing at the target, and also the torpedoes atm are inaccurate and need an update sadly so dont expect too much when you do get it to work

Ok. The torpedoes i shoot keep targeting me and not my target. Why is this? i have both used sonar (This targets me) and the radar just doesn't work. Please help :P

Actually, once I get into gear, they go pretty quickly(atgeir only took about 2 weeks). I won't give an exact ETA, but a rough estimate of maybe 3-4 weeks out. I am working on it, but I am temporarily stuck on a low performance laptop so I can only work on smaller parts of the sub(ie. the nuclear powerplant), not the whole thing. Once I get back to my desktop, things will pick up significantly from there.

omg yess, Pufferfish the creator or the torpedoes has created new ones that are amazingly accurate from my testing with them, perfect timing with the building of the new sub

To all the people who have left feedback recently, thank you very much. I will make some minor improvements to Atgier but am now working on my next submarine which will hopefully be even better. I will most likely not be making any significantly major changes to Atgier, as because the way the logic is laid out, changing major systems is a nightmare. The next submarine will feature better organized logic so that I can update it better, but unfortunately changing a lot of Atgier's core would require more effort than just building a new, better submarine.

Thanks for your support on this submarine, and I look forward to showing off what comes next.

Some feedback: The onboard lights are too strong and give away the subs position very easy. The problem is that there is no option to disable all lights. Even when turning the lights switch off, some lights are always on. Can you update this?

This submarine rules and is one of the best I've ever seen in stormworks. It's MP friendly, had a load of really cool features and the aiming system is straight forward. Absolutely rules.

i completely love this submarine, as Geck said, low-lag and MP friendly. the radar and sonar guided torps are my favorite, and it made for some fun mp battles with my friends

Not really, I've kinda burned out on stormworks ATM. I've got a few ideas that I'll get into once the nuclear power update, but as of right now I'm taking a break from it. Sorry, :(

any updates on improving the sonar torpedoes like you said before?, ive seen that recently it will miss even midsize targets, and it does it but can be unreliable

i hope Nuclear power comes out soon, and can be used on Subs, would be amazing to maybe have a multiplayer submarine in an anarchy type server, or maybe a factions server of some sort, idk if these types of servers exist atm (if they do pls tell me) but in the future if stormworks can handle big servers like that with many people it could be

a multiplayer combat sub would be amazing, there are very few subs that do that sort of thing well, and the Atgeir even when not designed for it is the best out of all of them for Multiplayer combat just because of its Sonar guided torps, low lag design and Good maneuverability, only thing i think Atgeir could do better is be able to go underwater faster, having to standup and go to the balast and back to the helm to go down is too long, you already have a missle coming towards you by then

No worries about commenting alot, I like having lots of feedback to work with. The torpedoes are definitely due for an improvement as well as the fire control. I think that having a dedicated multiplayer combat sub would be great, but it would probably be a whole new design rather than a different version of this sub.

The Submarine is already very good in Multiplayer from what ive played, almost no server lagg even when in the docks, also i feel like im commenting a lot but ive also noticed that the torpedoes seem to have problems with hitting smaller targets or targets that are angles away from the launching submarine, im not sure but it seems like the torpedoes are turning to hit the sides on the target but instead of hitting they sail past and dont turn around to try again, only seen this problem with submerged targets

this is a very nice creation for taking down ships, but maybe you could make a smaller and compacter version which just has the essentials to move, track and attack, so it would be better usable in multiplayer servers. im not demanding, just asking.
