what is the music used in this map?

i solved it in quite a different way than the intended one.
i didn't swap the cubes, i just positioned the first cube on the basement to stop the laser and then i went to the other button (with the heart cube on it) and using some very quick portal changing i managed to get to the exit door with the heart cube without using some of the white panels nor the cube swap
overall nice map! thanks for creating!

Got as far as here but I broke off the portal on the main platform so need a restart, I think.

Love it!

Nice map. I didn't use the grated portal surfaces in the basement area, which resulted in a couple extra steps to get the cubes swapped , but the general idea was there. Very nice aesthetics as well. Thumbs up.

Nice puzzle! I enjoyed how the storage cube's auto-respawn was exploited early on for a cube swap.

@Slyceth @lapicidas Sure, I can look into recording the process for #8 and beyond if it would be interesting.

Some content I’ve used to learn: Tewan has a few videos called “portal 2 mapping” showing the hammer process (his hammer work is expert tier). Demon Arisen has some videos on the puzzle creation process. TopHATTWaffle has a huge collection of specific video tutorials on hammer.

@Gabriel Bacon could you do a favor and next time you work on a map like this, either livestream it, or make a video/screenies while doing it to turn it into a montage. Me and many other mappers are really eager to know how you build this, especially considering there's no tutorials like that around for Portal 2 specific work.

@Slyceth Spent a couple hours a night over the course of a few weeks. The puzzle took about 20 hours to work out & polish, the hammer work took 30-40 hours. Thanks for playing.

How long did it take you to make this???

Thanks @hub, did not know that was possible ><

lol https://youtu.be/Uf9nBMFyyMA Not that big of a deal since the 'solution' is full of exploits, difficult jumps and tight timings that are obviously, well, exploits. I can almost solve this test with one funnel if it wasn't for that steel beam above the button. Just thought I should have some fun and maybe you can get a kick out of it. :) Keep up with the series, I am enjoying it!

@sheepdog Thanks for the playthrough! Loved seeing the thought process & glad you enjoyed it. Funny thing, I thought that the ceiling panel below the 2nd funnel was too obscure, so I recessed that portal surface deep into the wall in an attempt to teach the player to funnel upwards. I might need to tweak it.

blind playthrough https://youtu.be/hMBxl7Wj1Y4 Solid test! One portalable surface was a little hard to spot and I did not notice the broken glass until I needed it for the ending This lead me to find a slightly unintended solution because I did not see the portalable surface https://youtu.be/E1yT86_xecc . No one else recorded a blind playthrough so it might just be me. The puzzle is challenging and left me scratching my head a few times. Good job!

@Skyglass Thanks for playing & commenting :)

@quatrus Thanks for all the support! Glad you liked it.

Thanks for the hint. Kept me from getting too frustrated after a few hours trying to solve this one. Just needed to see both cubes in the exit area funnel and then knew what to do. Thanks for a great map and puzzle.

Beautiful and tough. Thanks for the fun:)
NOT A DOG 22 Mar, 2021 @ 11:08am
what?! i thought the solution was to walk down the beams and wait for mom to pic me up...
O ___ O"
Gabriel Bacon  [author] 22 Mar, 2021 @ 10:13am
@lapicidas How in the world?! I swear, every time I leave in an “unnecessary” portal surface, some genius comes along and figures out a new way to solve it using it. That is a SERIOUSLY clever find, and since it actually increases the use of the funnels & doesn’t skip too many important steps, I’m definitely gonna leave that in :) Thanks for the video & comment!
lapicidas 22 Mar, 2021 @ 9:39am
Interesting map with a good design and a challenging puzzle. Because of the well-constructed architecture, you first have to look for the portal surfaces.I didn't register the one in the basement . So I solved the puzzle differently, but not as elegantly as the intended way.
Alternative solution: :steamhappy: https://youtu.be/8HUkNRHBA3I :steammocking:

@NOT A DOG Haha what kind of a flimsy steel beam lets you walk right through it?! Thanks for playing.

Great puzzle i really loved it!
But exit doors are overrated....

@Gabriel Bacon, In all honesty, I gave you my weekend over this! Totally worth it! :)

@Free Beer LOL that is some serious persistence! I hope it was worth it :D Thanks for playing.

I mixed up the last two parts. Standing on the platform with the cube but unable to open the door for a couple hours. Great puzzle!
Gabriel Bacon  [author] 21 Mar, 2021 @ 10:00am
@jgaultney Thanks for playing & for the feedback!

I did not consider that opposite guardrail, I can totally see how that would be misleading, sorry about that! I've updated it so that all of the guardrails block the cube now, thanks for letting me know.

The only thing the 1st update fixed was the companion cube pedestal working more than once, so as far as the basement area, I think what may have happened to you is the maybe cube landed perfectly on the blue beam? I wasn't able to recreate any situation in which it gets stuck as if it's glass, but it may have been a weird glitch if so.

It took me a couple of days to solve this one. A good puzzle with great visuals. :bigups:
A couple of minor objections about the chamber that were the main reason it took two days.

When first published, what appeared to be an open wall in the "basement" under the
central area button, seemed to be an invisible wall or very clear glass. :)) This changed
after the update, allowing the cube to be pushed, via funnel, over the edge & re-spawned.

Second, in the central area with the button, the guardrail nearest the button would stop
a cube in a funnel from passing, yet the guardrail on the opposite side does not. There
is no visual cue, that I saw, that suggested this differing behavior.
