Thank you so much for the Korean translation! It is now available.
@mg979
I took the opportunity to nerf a couple of the Zeal cards, because I agreed with you. I ended up reducing the Zeal gained on Fanaticism (it shouldn't be better than Adrenaline, really) and reduced the block on Flame of Heaven (rather than remove...I prefer small adjustments rather than big ones).
No problem. If I had to rebalance it, I would remove the block from Flame of Heaven (or maybe make it minimal), so that you have to be more careful not to neglect defense while comboing.
Awesome! Thanks for the comments. I agree the Flame of Heaven build is probably a little overtuned. Of all the Holy Weapons, this was the hardest to get right, and Holy Strike returning was the last adjustment that pushed it over the top. Without that, however, it just felt lackluster, so I wanted it to at least feel good if you hit the right cards early enough to put it together. I think it's harder (or at least rarer) to get going than the Watcher infinite, which was my baseline for "too overpowered."
I am probably not going to be doing any more balance adjustments for a couple of reasons: 1) I feel good about the overall balance and don't want to mess things up and 2) I'm working hard on my next mod, so all of my free time is going into that right now. Thanks again!
@BigGucciSosa
Thank you! Glad you are enjoying it.
By the way in this run I KILLED the Transient (I killed it another time with the Watcher before), with 154 block when done... enough said. Probably this build is a bit broken.
This is my A20 win with this character:

I have to say, it took me noticeably less to win with this one than with the standard characters, but maybe I was just lucky. This was also the first time I played with this setup (Flame of Heaven and Holy Strikes), it lead to infinite combos very easily, because the added Fire of Conviction also counts towards the 5 cards per turn, so I just had to play 2 holy strikes, two other cards, FoC+, and repeat. Anyway I had as much fun with this character as with the default ones. I'm pretty sure it's the best StS mod, even if I didn't play any of the other ones :).
Thank you for commenting, I'm glad to hear you are enjoying it!
I appreciate that so much, thank you
Thank you for your comments! I'm happy that people are still enjoying this character.
Thank you!
I'm extremely flattered! Thank you for the kind comments, truly. I am very grateful for your offer, but I will have to decline. My day job is as a software engineer, and this mod (along with my previous characcter mod, which I made with my son) were passion projects I did for fun.
As for how long it took me, I spent about a month doing the character art and animations. I spent hundreds of hours doing the card art as an excuse to learn Krita. Then another month or so playtesting and refining, doing a full climb up the Ascensions, then many runs at A10 and A20 where I could benchmark my win rate compared to the base characters. All told, way more time than a sane person would put in!
Your work is fantastic and I say that with real conviction. I'm looking at the rewards for a boss fight and am seriously torn between 2 cards, one that looks overpowered and the other that removes debuffs, a simpler 'less overall useful' card but when it is useful it's utility is extremely helpful in boss fights.
Your cards are fun, maybe a bit front loaded OP but they make players excited when they find cards yet there's still very interesting decisions between cards to make. And even your relics are on point. It's great you make the character sprite change depending on which holy weapon he's using.
How much time did you put into this?
I appreciate your comments so much. It makes me very happy that people are enjoying this character. As for making another character... this took an enormous amount of time so I don't currently have another one planned at the moment, but for now I'll take that as a compliment!
That is so cool! Thank you so much for letting me know, I will definitely watch this. Very exciting!
I wanted to let you know that a Korean Twitch streamer had a go with your mod!
If you're interested, you can watch it here: https://youtu.be/jje1WudjCTE?t=1640
To translate some of his reactions, he was expecting a mod character to be fairly stronger than canon characters and was surprised that the cards, by themselves, were weak.
However, being an Ascension 20 player, he soon got the knack of it and made a strong synergy deck that can win battles with 1 or 2 turns.
It was very interesting to see a fellow Korean play this character and I was so excited I had to bring you the news.
Stay safe and I'll be looking forward to more mods from you if you ever decide to make another.
Thank you for the high praise! I spent a lot of time working on this mod and it means a lot to me to hear such positive feedback. I'm thrilled you are having fun with the character!
Thank you so much for your kind comment! Glad you're enjoying it!
You're welcome! Hope you enjoy the character.
"Paired" not "parried"
So when you have 1 glyph, nothing happens, it just hangs out up near the top of the screen. When you play the next glyph, that makes a pair, and at that point you get the effect for both glyphs and then they both go away. If the glyphs were the same type, you get a bonus effect at that time as well.
Thanks.
Thanks for your feedback. I used a similar balancing philosophy on this mod that I used in my previous mod, namely that the character has stronger front-loaded effects but is a little harder to scale. One side effect is that low Ascensions are too easy. However, at higher Ascensions this balances out better, and means that getting through Acts 1 and 2 are a little easier but Acts 3 and 4 are more challenging.
I playedtested dozens of runs at A10 and dozens of runs at A20, and my win rate is somewhere in the vicinity of my Ironclad and Watcher play. If you have been trying it out on low Ascensions, I would agree with your assessment, but recommend trying it at higher Ascension to get the real experience.
Thanks again for your comment!
Overall a good mod, just needs some balacing.
Amazing!! I am so grateful that you would take the time to translate this mod after already doing the same for the Robot Space Explorer. I would guess you have found the resource files on github, and you should already have my email address, but let me know if you have any questions. I appreciate you!
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm very glad to hear you are enjoying the character.
