small bee race
could you also please keep the 1.2 version? (some modders are removing old versions but for people playing with large mod lists, it can take ages to upgrade saves into the latest version..
(it took me about a year to upgrade with about 500+ mods from 1.1 into 1.2) :)
Don't stress yourself too much making these cuties compatible.
(Also technically 1.4 is in open beta SO that mod devs can update their mods to 1.4 BEFORE it comes out. As far as I know, at least.)
Trust me, having a social life is overrated. Cute bee girls, on the other hand, are not.
This is embaracing...
I was complaining about queen's speed penalty but...
I f-ed up the character editing. I was setting age and while I noticed that beegirls have different age range than humans I missed that queens have their own age range.
So turns out my queens have an extra x0.65 speed penalty because they ended up being kids.
And I only just recently noticed that part in their speed breakdown.
Still not digging the speed penalty, but at least now I know that what I was seeing in practice is worse than how it was designed.
Damn, and I was even thinking "3.6 should not feel this much slower" but I wrote it down as perception issue...
... facepalm...
+125% GWS for measly 10 flowers is not even funny.
And the rest of 'em aren't much better.
While I get the general idea (sit tight and research) there are two other jobs I traditionally mix with researching when I roll the starting pawns - medic and warden. That's because researcher is a full-time job, and those two are very situational and thus very light on workload. But they both require walking.
Also I don't do non-combatants, I just don't. And seeing them always late to the “troop gathering” just plain sucks.
I get that it's immersive and whatnot “queens are important, and big, and slow, and don't work yada yada yada...”, but having someone like that as a colonist is just plain not fun.
P.S. I suggest adding some biome-branch queens to the scenario as insurance, especially if playing with a setup that could stop you from quickly (if at all) accessing industrial level tech.
If your biome goes outside the 0-30 range before you can breed some climate-ready bees it can noticeably hurt your colony.
Brain in a jar patch seems to be causing an incompatibility with this mod - it breaks the bee jar's ability to link with simple research bench.
If anyone is having the same issue go to:
..\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\294100\2437912777\Patches
and remove the 'MakeHoneyCompatable.xml' file.
quickest fix would be to use character editor and give them hair urself until i get around to fixin it
maybee?
