there is so much beauty in it's simplicity and yet i never thought to make one this way! impressive! :)

I just want to say I LOVE IT, THANK YOU, there needs to be more like this in the workshop.

The Fact that this hasn't been fixed yet even though people are complaining about it exploding and have posted the fix in the comment section months ago is rather infuriating.
Svikt (Tahoma) 30 Jul, 2021 @ 11:40am
OK. Following Fnaffan1712's advice fixed everything for me.
Regardless how perfectly I followed the video,
Hinge C was EXPLODING on me every time. Rover everywhere.

So,
This time, before I assembled anything,
I went in and set HINGE C to a max of -89* & 89*

Fixed everything.

Also malacanth massively updated the reach and I wasn't expecting it to get so high.

Thanks!! Awesome blueprint.

Question: what about the balance? I don't see any landing gear to lock it in place.

I agree with @Ry and @Redox. The way in which this lift is built is elegant, simple, and just perfect. It is very well thought out. Thanks for sharing this with us!

Well that's it, you win. XD

That 'construction' video got a giggle out of me. :winter2019joyfultearsdog:

Ok, update Clang gets summoned everytime Hinge C reaches any 90 Degrees Point, you should set Hinge C and B to max 89/-89 in order to Not summon Lord Clang
•Fnaffan1712• 22 May, 2021 @ 2:39pm
So aperently everytime when Hinge C comes to the -90 degree Point/ gets an Hingepart added at that poin,t it becomes an Rocket with Random Direction and the Power of an Small Grid Warhead. A suprise to be sure but an Unwelcome One

Yep, that was it. I had 15 failed attempts out of 15 attempts, but changing the hinge C to be slightly less than -90 and 90 resolved the constant clang, once assembled it can be changed back.

I don't think this issue occurs on every system, since a system's sensitivity to clang depends on a lot of factors, but putting a note in the description for those with problems would be handy!

So interestingly enough, it blows up for me regardless. I did it exactly as your video suggests - I think the difference is in how each system computers the physics. My next step is following the steps that @Redox mentioned, to see if that resolves it.
Malacanth  [author] 6 May, 2021 @ 2:51pm
@NBP assemble it exactly as the video on my workshop shows, or it will blow up.
nbp 6 May, 2021 @ 1:30pm

Malacanth  [author] 6 May, 2021 @ 9:53am
@ nbp actually I already have it up there https://spaceengineers.mod.io/simple-survival-lift
Malacanth  [author] 6 May, 2021 @ 9:52am
@nbp I'll uplaod it, I will have it up in 2 minutes
nbp 6 May, 2021 @ 9:48am
may I have permission to upload this Blueprint to mod.io plz sir or can you upload this Blueprint to mod.io plz
Redox 2 May, 2021 @ 10:03am
Hinge C was causing clang on attaching. Prevented by reducing it's limit from -90/90 to -89/89 degrees before assembly. That aside, great blueprint. Briliant assembly method, and a super helpful thing to have!

@Rusty Funny you should comment now, I literally just finished another survival printable build that I will publish soon =)
Revan 1 May, 2021 @ 6:27pm
Bro, i just watched the video after thinking "this seems to complicated to be worth it"

Beautifully done. So simple and elegant. I could shed a tear for this.

Nice job! This is perfect for no-jetpack servers!
Mallchad 10 Apr, 2021 @ 2:08am
Feels so nice to have a multi-grid blueprint that is easilly buildable in survival.
: D
Malacanth  [author] 9 Apr, 2021 @ 9:09pm
Glad you all like it, got a few thoughts on some others I will get working on as soon as I finish my next mech ;)
ForgerFortySeven 7 Apr, 2021 @ 10:56pm
Nice TY
Malacanth  [author] 7 Apr, 2021 @ 7:43pm
@Psycho Eyes Just built it in survival in multiplayer last night, no issues, just be sure to cut and assemble it exactly as the video shows because that is when klang visits. I did have an issue welding the ladder, but I think that was more of a projection collision issue.
Psycho Eyes 7 Apr, 2021 @ 5:18pm
the solar skiffs finally made for planets
how often does klang appear
DeAnti 7 Apr, 2021 @ 4:59pm
super useful
mr.emile99 7 Apr, 2021 @ 7:04am
Вот на самом деле очень даже нужная вещь.
Особенно для тех кто играет без реактивного ранца.

Beautiful job making it so that you dont need the modded projectors to 3d print this. You could even use Build and Repair to both auto build it, and auto remove the scaffolding pipes.
Sevyrs 6 Apr, 2021 @ 4:49pm
Very nice. Subbed and upped.
Amos Burton 6 Apr, 2021 @ 10:50am
genius. i never thought of this one. Very easy to operate. low cost to manufacture. i give thumbs up!!!
