@MrMarlin04 If you do not have an xml edited workbench this needs to be spawned in as a mission. Simply place it on a tile and use the test mission button,

@TheKebabman This vehicle was made using an xml edited workbench. If you dont want to change your workbench size, spawn it using the mission editor. Once in the editor, choose your location as a mission area. Dont spawn this as an environment mod as that will cause the physics to go funky and it will sink.

Thanks again. The reason of my interest is that I might try to build a pair of engines for a uboat that people could improve and use in their models. I know its a lot of work because I'd like them to be modular, then eventually a whole engine room and then who knows... I don't know if I'll even have the time.

@abcnema Yes, the north sawyer harbor. There is a way to change the editor sizes, but that requires going through game files.

Also- the engines are not modular. Im not really good with engine mechanics so there are two med prebuilt engines. Each engine is simply hidden inside of the engine you see in the engine room. The engine room engine, with the fancy parts, is simply a row of stretched pipes. In the electric engine boxes (back room) I have 3 pivots that control the prop movement.

No worries about the questions lol, im completely fine with that.

If you want to check out the inner workings of the creation without editing your files open it in the oil rig workbench. However, I will warn you that it cant be spawned there. That workbench is for structures so the physics wont apply correctly.

You mean north harbor of Sawyer Island? I could spawn it but not open it in the workbench. Are the engines modular? I love the moving parts on top of the diesels, are they a new piece in stormworks? Sorry for so many questions in a row...

I have gone in and modified several of the workbenches so that the build areas are bigger. For me, I am able to spawn this sub at the north harbour as if it was just a regular boat. So.. It is modifiable, however, most others dont have large workbenches that can support it.

As per the lag.. Thats most likely due to the size and torpedoes. Having 8 different "vehicles" packed into the sub is probably causing most of the lag. After spawning it in my frames can drop to 36, but after leaving the dockthey normally return to 60. Idk why, just kinda random.

Finally I could do it, I did substitute the piece of code as per the video instructions (not sure if that was necessary). Thanks for your help. The experience is quite laggy, I assume that has to do with the complexity of the model. But I understand the model is not available in any workbench so that it can be worked with or modified. Will it ever be so or is it planned to be unmodifiable?

@abcnemo after opening up a creative game or save, press esc to open up the pause screen (where it has photo mode and the back to menu option). There should be, on the far right (left of the to main menu button) an icon that resembles a flag. This is the mission editor button and should open it up.

Check out this video, a little bit after 1:35 they show the icon. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

(Make sure to select the mission area and not an environment mod area. Placing it as an environment mod causes the physics to not react with water, aka the sub just sinks lol.)

Excuse me if I haven't been able to find a way to open the mission editor. I have searched the forum for an answer, but all I found was "there is no mission editor anymore"? So, if anyone could point me in the right direction in order to spawn this beautiful sub...

@theteshoneys There is absolutely no reason to use caps lock. Many others have had the same issue, its a really simple solution.

Small note first.. Dont spawn in creations at the oil rig, that is for structures. Structure workbenches cause creations to have different physics, like an env mod, and may prevent them from floating.

All you need to do is use the mission editor test button. Simply open the mission editor, place the creation, and hit "test mission." I've said this is several comments, so please make sure to read before asking. Last note.. Dont spam messages. I will be removing the first three messages so that people can find answers to their questions easier. Hopefully this helped.

@azzachaz This was my first attempt at a submarine so the stabilizer was my work-around for not knowing much about how ballast worked. I do agree that not having the fins working does limit it, but at the same time it is not really something I think would be do-able on my end (im not the strongest with logic). Having two ballast systems to balance this sub would be a bit difficult xD.

Also can the Dive planes have some functionality because I don't like the fact that the Sub just sits straight through waves. Having a sub sit their like their were no waves ruins realism.

@MrOVENMAN @colewigham2009 Please read through the comments before asking a question like this. It has been asked and answered about 3 times already. You need to use the mission editor to spawn it in if you don't have a big enough workbench. If you don't know how to do this, read my last comment when I responded to SeaWolf, Ideckard6 and NTSFMagellan.

@Soan Apologies but I dont really have a reason to make this sinkable. As Thomas said, though, you can open the conning tower hatch while underwater to sink it.
