I love the idea of this mod and wish I could use it, but it's functionality is completely broken on steam deck. The menu is active when the inventory is closed, causing the cursor to snap to the GUI button and activating it when interacting with anything in the world.
Could you explain why the FPS drops when opening the inventory after installing this mod? After checking multiple times, I'm pretty sure the problem is caused by the mod.

@Shadowex3, are you by any chance using Arcane Reliquary together with New Enemies Mod? I've seen a behavior in the Nemesis enemy that could cause problems with the chests when this enemy tries to "open" the chests.

Is it me or does nothing spawn but locked color coded chests, and never any keys? In previous versions I'd wind up swimming in relics, now basically nothing ever spawns and even when it does it's always a locked colored chest.

@Petrichor, yeah, the relics can make you a god, but most of them can most as easily instakill you if you don't have the right perks, lol.

Given how frequently some of these artifacts have gotten me killed, I really appreciate that they keep the game's original spirit intact. Sometimes these things feel like a bigger danger to me than my enemies are. 10/10

This mod author is an actual maniac, too many bombs and explosive effect relics - that said, the mod comes with every tool to let you swap relics around, just wish there were less chaotic passives lmao n' more turrets/droids, wouldn't it be cool to have a relic that lets you make a mini toy factory or bee hive/fungus that keeps spawning allied creatures? same mayhem level as every explosive relic just less collateral damage.

Regardless, thank you for your hard work, the mod really changed Noita for me and it's fantastic and very creative.

@ChimpSlap, @JayB, this happens, most likely, because I have a script that runs frequently, when you open your inventory, to verify if the main GUI elements are currently loaded, as a workaround for when the GUI crashes.

I'll see if I can find another solution for this to prevent lag when openning the inventory.

Anyone else getting lag when their inventory is opened? I have other mods enabled (not anything that I could immediately guess would conflict with this mod) but yeah I couldnt figure it out, disabling this mod got rid of the severe lag when my inventory UI was opened

@AnOrdinaryDerg maybe you have enabled No Buffs mode? When it is active, enemies stop getting buffs and instead are marked with the chest icon above their heads.

@TheK0tYaRa, I'll see if I can optimize the recipes list according to which relic is placed on it.

So. The relic combine station has the longest ever recipe list i've seen so far. But selection is not really an option. Can it be filtered by only showing recipes with relic on it when there is a relic on it? Preferably without including recipes that have one of relics on it instead of all.

for some reason None of the buffed creatures are showing up, I'm really confused honestly I don't have any mods that do anything similar so its really confusing lol

would be nice for some relics that cast every spell cast to have a cooldown, some relics become way too op if used together with chainsaws or rapid firing wands.

@Shedopen, tried to reproduce what you reported, but managed to pickup the Venomous Stone Hand, and drop it normally. When it happened, did you notice whether or not the main toggle icon was showing?

@KR Illusion, it sometimes can happen because the relics you currently have might switch indexes with each other and if you drop a relic while this is happening it messes up the index calculation and it causes the GUI to crash. When this happens, a game reload is enough to fix it.

I'm fully aware of this issue but I couldn't find a solution yet.

What do you think about a configurable option to allow you to customize the maximum number of relics you can own? Sounds good to limit how op you become with their effects?

Enemy buffs are on too. It made it LESS challenging because they drop higher tier relics!

I can see this being good for certain types of playthroughs, but with my mod setup, it makes it far too powerful. Specifically how it allows me to carry 20 relics without actually taking any inventory space.

@Zephroze, seems you got lucky with just a few relics. Since you can obtain any relic randomly, finding a combination that makes you really strong depends highly on luck on your finds in relic chests.

Also, you can try activating enemy buffs to make it a little more challenging.

I don't know what mods are doing this but I thought it would be funny to mention.

I'm able to pick up and keep active as many relics as I want, until I am holding 20 (not even 16?) and they all go into their own special inventory that is just on the left side of my screen.

I was completely invulnerable to nearly everything except drowning, and the stuff I was vulnerable to was not doing very much damage, or got transmogrified shortly after touching me, or various other effects.

I'm just going to have to stop using this mod for now, because even if you can only have like, 4 active (one for each potion slot) then it seems a bit overpowered. Just my first two relics made me completely immune to projectiles and counter everything.

Causes constant crashes, completely unusable. I think it has something to do with drop behaviour, because the crashes happened whenever something died.

The relic workbench is not spawning in the holy mountain....Am guessing it is a conflict with another mod. Is there a list of mods this does not work with?

@Táculo, I could try adding a config option for that purpose, since there is none related to chest spawn rate from buffed enemies currently, or maybe point you to the right script where you could customize it to your liking if you want.

Is there any way to tone down the buff enemy droprates? I really like the buffed enemies but the relic part is not actually all that interesting to me, so i'd prefer to have level 4 buff enemies items drop more rarely (50% chance or smth), i took a look at the configs but couldn't really do anything.
Great mod though, really fun and the enemy buffs are very fun, finding minibosses around is pretty challenging.

This mod is great but oh man its unstable as hell, ever since i installed almost every run gets atleast on crash related to the stacking up of various relic effects with spells.

@Shadowex3, No Buffs Mode is now a bit different in a way chests spawn from enemies marked with icons, with the frequency controlled in a similar way to other item drops such as relic precursor containers. Test it to see if chest drops become a little less frequent :).

@Pathless, just to let you know, the current build now allows you to "disable" relics by kicking them, so you can store them on thye potions inventory, which works with Inventory Bags if you use it.

Could you do something similar to the mod Inventory Bags to store inactive relics maybe? I'd love to be able to save them to combine them later when I find the right ones.

Ok I thought the "no buff" mode felt overtuned, it seemed like I was getting relics left right and center. Which was kind of a problem since you can't chuck relics you don't want without the edit wands perk.

@Dodgeball Boy you can learn that by reading the documentation of the mod, linked here in the mod description.

@Shadowex3, the No Buffs Mode uses a flat 10% chance, which is separate from the buff chance really. And I find your idea pretty interesting, but unfortunately there is no easy way to tell which inventory slot is currently occupied by what item, so I don't think it is feasible. But I do like the ideia of possessing a relic, but "turning off" its effects should you choose so, I'm gonna think of some way to do it.

Used an egg, charmed slime spawned, it was buffed w/ one of the hand relics, hands attacked and killed me - is this a bug or intentional?

some of these buffed creatures just instakill you with lightning even when the monster normally doesn't have a projectile attack. most relics are objectively dangerous or fatal to the player because they are literally making acid shit out of your attack and you cant take them off without finding a machine room spawner or going into the mountain. its annoying

@Istyrn the are a few problems expanding it too much, some of them relate to performance spikes if too many relic effects take place at once and considering 16 is the maximum inventory size in the vanilla game, increasing it wouldn't make sense without an extended inventory mod.

I'm curious if its possible to go above the 16 limit for relics seeing as we have mods that expand the number of spell inventory slots we can have. I've noticed in the mod settings theres no option to so what I'm wondering is if its even possible or if its a hardcap for some reason or another?
