@Beast-Storm This mega drive contains a old version of the mod. Download it, extract the contents, and put both the more_traits_characteristics folder and .mod file in your stellaris mods folder. https://mega.nz/folder/T4gRFLQY#O-oAxnFOIqx-Oi-i14dr-Q

Is their a 3.6.1 version for this mod???
Jacques Cartier  [author] 20 Oct, 2021 @ 3:11pm
Sorry about that issue, the steam mods have been updated if you want to try them out.
[WTP] Fire Fox 19 Oct, 2021 @ 8:04pm
...so that's the problem! yes, OSX and Linux are case aware.
MonkeysInSpace 18 Oct, 2021 @ 2:14pm
Please make your common, common/traits, icons, and localisation folders lowercase, capitalization breaks the mod on OSX and Linux

Also, I created a bug discussion that should be found just above the comments section. This is probably a better way of communicating.

@Fire Fox I've uploaded this mod to Paradox Mods, try unsubscribing from the steam version, deleting the file I had you check(multiple copies of the same mod may cause issues), and subscribing to the paradox version.

Sorry for the late getting back to you; It's in there and a cursory check shows that the folder is populated (and the mod shows up in the launcher), just still no traits.

If you are subscribed and don't have a file for it in the steam workshop I'll try setting up a direct download on another platform. Please navigate to Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\281990 and check if there is a folder named "2460656308". On windows Steam should be located under program files(x86) by default.

Subscribed and activated; I have a bunch of mods loaded already and have tested this one both in with the rest of the mods and also in a modset with it alone in case something else was interfering.
Jacques Cartier  [author] 12 Oct, 2021 @ 9:25am
Maybe. Worst case scenario I should be able to find a way to provide a direct download of the mod. Have you used mods for Stellaris before? Did you activate this mod in the Stellaris launcher or did you just click the subscribe button?

Okay, I tried every type of species including Plantoid (I don't have Necroids so can't test that) and none of the traits are there. Might be Steam screwing up?
[WTP] Fire Fox 11 Oct, 2021 @ 11:08am
Mammalian at minimum; I do not have the Necroid DLC either so cannot test that but I will test all the types I have access to tomorrow and let you know.
Jacques Cartier  [author] 11 Oct, 2021 @ 10:21am
@Fire Fox what type of species are you trying to use? Right now the traits should only appear for biological and lithoid species, they may not work for plantoids or necroids. I cannot test for these as I do not have their corresponding DLCs.

Please let me know which species classes(mammalian, anthropoid, etc) these traits do not appear for.

I'm not sure if this has an unlisted dependency, but with only this mod loaded I'm not seeing any of the traits when I go to create an empire

@marinus18 After I commented I gave the topic more thought and came up with the idea that if one gender was produced at a higher rate than the other, the rarer gender would probably be considered more valuable and would have taken a higher rank in society, so I implemented the traits in this mod.
Wilmfe23 27 Sep, 2021 @ 8:14am
I would think Matriarchy and Patriarchy would be biologically programmed into them. Patriarchy would leave the females to take care of kids full time while matriarchy will create stronger family bonds.
Jacques Cartier  [author] 21 Sep, 2021 @ 12:36pm
@marinus18 so you're looking for a very significant effect with the Eusocial trait, then. Like stability, edict effects cannot be directly influenced through traits. I'll try to balance the trait to have several significant positive effects to counteract a huge population growth penalty. What are your thoughts on -35% pop growth, +15% unity output, -15% empire sprawl, +15% job production, +15% government ethics attraction, and -15% amenities usage?

I'll also put in Keen Senses and Dull Senses as more general sensory traits that will have small effects on army health. Disengagement chance, from what I understand, is mainly determined by generals rather than species.

Matriarchy and patriarchy seem like more social traits that would fit in better on another of my mods. What does matriarchy/patriarchy mean to you(is one gender biologically superior or is it a more social thing), and how do you justify the effects of the traits?
Wilmfe23 21 Sep, 2021 @ 5:13am
Maybe a simple trait could be 'sense of smell' which would help with your army disengaging or retreating.
Maybe have a negative in no-olfactory decreasing army health and making disengaging difficult.
Wilmfe23 21 Sep, 2021 @ 5:06am
Maybe also add matriarchy and patriarchy and you could use your idea. Matriarchy giving -20% pop growth for +10% unity and -10% sprawl and patriarchy being the other way around.
Wilmfe23 21 Sep, 2021 @ 5:05am
I think the population penalty should be steeper. Something like -35%. Add what you said with maybe 15% unity, and make them more likely to follow edicts. After all people listen to their mother. Also maybe give a slight increase to all production since parenthood and work are no longer interfering with each other. Being Eusocial is a massive change to society so it's effects should be big. Maybe if it's not too difficult you could add that arthopods have all the effects of Eusocialism cut in half, both positive and negative.
Jacques Cartier  [author] 20 Sep, 2021 @ 5:28pm
@marinus18 interesting idea. I don't know of a way to effect stability directly through traits, so that part would likely be more complicated than it's worth. I'm thinking maybe -20% pop growth in exchange for +10% unity output and -10% pop empire sprawl with a cost of 0. Let me know if you have any other thoughts on this or any other traits. I will be updating my mods this Saturday.
Wilmfe23 20 Sep, 2021 @ 2:14pm
One trait I would like is Eusocial. It's what insects and a few mammals have in that the vast majority of females are infertile but like 1 to 0,01% is a queen. Maybe it puts a limit on your population growth but grants extra stability and unity for every couple of pop.
