Heh, I could easily sink 40-60 hours into a ship this size. The bigger they get, the more time it takes. I think I spent about a month working on this one off and on.

It's interesting. After using it for weeks I can say that positron has it's place in light-med fights. Plasma still seems to function better. I stripped the minis off for a art, and then an LX to open paths for the Posi, otherwise you actually are in danger of fuel tank going empty before the fight ending. With the adjustments, and some refueling, it can tango with a destroyer.

I keep coming back to this ship. Nice design, layout, nasty firepower. Great stuff.

Ps: i had to remove a couple of lights to spawn it in 1.8. The two half lights in the cockpit. Might need an update if you have time.

Thanks @Dadrick, I finally got to play around with cruise missiles, both types, and since have changed my version of your Vindicator around again. Since EMP cruise missiles do an amazing job of keeping a dreads shields down I lowered the laser turrets and cannons and increased the arty cannons amount. With how maneuverable this ship is I believe it can do some very accurate and nasty damage using mainly arty cannons and cruise missiles.

I love this ship, I have a version I modified to have 6 advanced laser cannons and like 9 arty cannons and it is a beast, makes such quick work of legacy ships, love the design! The server I play on just upgraded to the newest version of RE and I can't wait to see how it is with the new cruise missiles.

If I could be soo bold to offer my advice, would be just add a door right behind the captains chair to the hangar bay. A ladder/whatever is probably not needed as I am 99% of the time in space using my jet pack. Just jump out of chair and head straight back.

Hey ChumSickle, sorry for the late response. Glad to hear you're enjoying this ship! It might need an update for the current version of Reforged Eden. From what I've been reading, missiles are the new meta. I'm going to have to experiment with different loadouts when I have the time. As for pathing inside the ship, I'll see if maybe I can fit a blast door in somewhere with direct access to the hangar.

Knocked this one out of the park. I love almost everything about it. It is a straight forward, to the point, fighter. I am going to absolutely nit-pick to come up with anything negative. The only thing I >dont< particularly like is the pathing to get in and out. But by the time you need to get out, its only for looting. It is pretty much immune to legacy ships, and can probably dance round enough to fight a Dread given a few weapons upgrades. All that will really be needed is buffing its weapons to T2 and adding a gen to compensate. When not paying attention I lost its entire nose, and it had nearly zero impact on its capabilities. Bravo brother, bravo.

Ahh yeah I'm using the xeno modded version from FragTzack VindicatorXeno RE. At this point I've heavily modified the one I fly (removed the hangar, added even more xeno, redesigned the elevators and added quick egress on top) Overall I really like the design of the ship though when the shields drop in the original config it gets super squishy fast, hence the xeno. I removed the sensor since I couldn't figure out its purpose and added a lot of internal xeno to the nose, which definitely helped a lot. She's just slightly less nimble but I'll take that over the horrific damage I was experiencing. Love the ship!

Cearrdorn, I'm not sure what you are referring to. There is only 1 sensor on the Vindicator to control the hangar door. It's located at the rear of the ship just outside the hangar door. Are you maybe using a modified version of the ship that someone else posted to the workshop?

I looked through the comments but I can't find an answer, what is the purpose of the sensor in the middle of the nose? it's labeled "ForwardUthruster" but I can't really see what the heck this is meant to be about. Can you explain the sensor's purpose?

I do a vanilla version, sathium carapace, more fuel tanks, a second V2 generator to activate in fight, change an ammo in cargo, a radar, marvelous ship !!! I can publish it if you like :)

The main things wanted to see:

As mentioned by Aaron, use of Xeno over combat steel.
Quick access method to bridge.
A bit more firepower for planet combat.

Vindicator by Dadrick is beast, massive firepower and handles like a SV and better then most SV.
In reply to Aaron suggestion of Xeno, that was my thoughts also..but I only replaced the combat steel making the Vindicator stronger and about 230,000 tons lighter. My analysis of the nose sections is that , the ship integrity will not be compromised if losing the nose blocks.

Aaron(Wakfu) The thrust is partly a result of what I needed to achieve the high degree of maneuverability. The other part is that I found the ship became noticeably more sluggish once all the ammo bays were filled. Unfortunately, there's no way to manually adjust the thrust without just removing engines.

So much maneuverability to play with. I'd layer some of the internals with XENO and probably the nose section too. Its practically max speed in 1.5 seconds. WHich to me is over kill, because you cant dodge enemy fire so far by zipping around high transfervesal (across enemy ships). only way to dodge is the whirly bird, which is rolling and thrusting up and sometimes strafing left or right while doing so. which means those are the stats you need high.

mjy you can download the reforged eden scenario by subscribing to it, then start a new game and select reforged eden, then choose creative mode. so you can test RE ships single player off line easy.

Hey dew1960, it can handle space POI no problem. It can't really do ground POI because the weapons it comes with don't work in atmosphere. But, if that's something you want to do you could always change the turrets.

sulusdacor, what I've done is I created a BA blueprint that is basically just a massive white wall. I use it as a backdrop for screenshots like these. One other thing to note is that I take these screenshots on snowy planets. That way you don't get any weird tinting from the planet's atmosphere. The Grey stripe was actually added using photoshop after the fact.

LadyRayneCloud and MJY, it shouldn't be too hard to make vanilla friendly. You'll need to remove the long ranged radar and replace the advanced warp core with a regular one. You can remove 1 advanced CPU extender, both the improved extenders, and the basic extender. It also has more plasma turrets than is legal for vanilla. You'll need to remove 10 of them and replace them with cannon or missile turrets. Hope that helps.
