You sly bastard.... The update logs. Haha. Notch never DID remove him. And Jeb never will.
sgtwinkler  [author] 4 Jun, 2014 @ 1:05pm
Yeah, I remember that from Oblivion. This isn't a temple though, it's a vault made by the same people who made the temples, for an entirely different purpose.
LordGimsbury 4 Jun, 2014 @ 11:35am
you know that there where only two akaviri temple right one in skyrim another in cyrodiil
MegaloDan 1 Jun, 2014 @ 12:26pm
thanks! and nice mod!
sgtwinkler  [author] 1 Jun, 2014 @ 12:18pm
@noahjamerson - There are no quest scripts so there is no way that anything could become bugged, just to keep the files clean and glitch - free.

The quests are really five separate missions, to start a quest you read the books on the pedestals in the vault and go where the books tell you to to find the chests with the keys inside. There you go!

@stroggchief - I apparently forgot to add the tempering recipes in Creation Kit, I'll post an update soon so all the weapons can be improved :)
MegaloDan 1 Jun, 2014 @ 10:12am
apparently, i can't upgrade the sword through smithing. Is it just a glitch or is there really no way of upgrading it?
noahjamerson 1 Jun, 2014 @ 7:39am
how do you start the quest and sorry if its hiding in the discription
sgtwinkler  [author] 30 May, 2014 @ 2:16pm
Thanks for the positive feedback!
The Psych Doctor 29 May, 2014 @ 10:59pm
Love the mod and of course, rated it a "thumbs up!" Found it because of your other mods. Lovely all, and fun to have another reason to wander around Skyrim! Thanks and I hope you keep "modding" on! :)
sgtwinkler  [author] 29 May, 2014 @ 2:25pm
How the heck does the Steam rating system work anyway? This mod got a three star rating. So how many people rated it down? ONE. That's harsh Steam, real harsh :p
sgtwinkler  [author] 28 May, 2014 @ 12:47pm
The point is that there's a challenge and it's not a free handout. I have a newer mod that has most of these weapons and then some more, you need Hearthfire though.

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=261946753

On the other hand, if you really do want it easy, here's what to do.

1. Press tilde "~"

2. Type "tcl"

3. Fly through and grab all the items

4. Profit

You're welcome.
Killerfreak 27 May, 2014 @ 7:51pm
Would you be able to make a seperate mod where you can get these same weapons but easier? Like find them in Riverwood or Whiterun? But like maybe a boss guarding it but the ability to sneak past them and take the weapons.
sgtwinkler  [author] 17 May, 2014 @ 6:44pm
I'm really glad that some people appreciate when I update mods. I feel like I need to spend more time predicting what people will want before releasing a mod instead of updating with feedback because mods get buried deep about a week after publishing :( Thanks for the response!
gnomeicecream 17 May, 2014 @ 1:59am
Great to hear that you will update. i look forward to seeing the results. It's wonderful to see modders come back to previous works when they learn new things. "Great works are never finished only abandoned".
sgtwinkler  [author] 16 May, 2014 @ 2:01pm
Okay, I wasn't really planning on updating this mod but I've found out how to fix the lighting and generate navmesh, so that's what I'm a gonna do! Also I'll fix the stairs since it irritates some people.
gnomeicecream 16 May, 2014 @ 6:57am
Parkour is okay and all but it looks like its broken visually. it just looks like someone plain forgot half the stairs. Also if parkour is your aim its better to make platforms more out into empty space since skyrim has cliffwalking nonsense which make such challanges minor irritants a best when near walls.
sgtwinkler  [author] 27 Apr, 2014 @ 5:36pm
Swampert and gnomeicecream - I don't know a whole lot about navmeshing, but I'll see what I can do about that. I added the dwarven guardians as a means to make the missions more difficult and meaningful, but their difficulty interacting with the area around makes it unfortunately buggy. My options are either learning navmeshing or removing the guardians. I guess for now I'll take out the guardians and maybe put them back in once I can get them bug free (don't hold your breath). As for the missing stairs, that's just to add some challenge and spice ;) A little parkour in Skyrim ain't a bad thing!
sgtwinkler  [author] 27 Apr, 2014 @ 5:30pm
DragonLady1 - I know, it's a pickle, isn't it? I don't want to do that but if I'm going through so much effort to improve the mod, I would really appreciate more people to see it. Ideally I will update this one and post a new, updated one so people will actually pick it up.

I blame Steam's system that pushes back mods into oblivion (pun not necessarily intended) after a week uploaded. I'll do my best with the system I've got, but I won't delete your hard-earned rewards!
sgtwinkler  [author] 27 Apr, 2014 @ 5:28pm
Thanks for all the feedback! I have had my hands full recently with all sorts of stuff and haven't had a whole lot of time to get back to updating this.

I did recently remove the ambient lighting in the last update, but it still isn't perfect, I know. Unfortunately I don't know why this is exactly and haven't seen reference to others with this problem :(
gnomeicecream 25 Apr, 2014 @ 4:04pm
decent job. giving someone a reason to wander about to less used sites. The edge of Darsteen kinda irks me though have to cliff waddle to get up to the place and around to the vault due to what looks like missing terrain/stair portions. Also as others have mentioned navmesh the interior so fighting inside means something. 3/5
Master Tuesday 25 Apr, 2014 @ 7:11am
I'm back winkler, and I'm here to claim those 'props' you promised me XD
I've noticed there's still quite a few problems with Daarsten, and I've found some tutorials that may help fix them. The most notable bugs at this point are the omnipresent lighting, and the guardians in the vaults cant move around. The reason they cant move is due to there being no Navmesh, which explains why a lot of the problems are occuring. I don't intend to be rude, but I'd recommend doing the entire 'level design tutorial' that Bethesda has done:
http://www.creationkit.com/Bethesda_Tutorial_Layout_Part_1

I understand that it's a long task to make the tutorial part, but trust me, it's EXTREMELY helpful in the long run, as I've now produced my own first dungeon, and I would personally say it's pretty close to Bethesda quality, and I'm absolutely sure that this mod will have a significant spike in quality once you've got a greater understanding of what all the important aspects of a dungeon are.

When you repost, doesn't that mean that your CURRENT subscribers lose all their stored data & etc? ALLL their goodies?
Tomoko 20 Apr, 2014 @ 5:31pm
aww... ok, i'll try not to.
sgtwinkler  [author] 20 Apr, 2014 @ 5:30pm
Only if you won't give me grief about not designing my own .nif files lol
Tomoko 20 Apr, 2014 @ 5:21pm
is one of them the shield? XD
sgtwinkler  [author] 20 Apr, 2014 @ 10:35am
Expect a second installation of the updates within a week! I'll be adding either two or four new artifacts. I'll probably also repost the mod since this one isn't getting many views anymore :(
sgtwinkler  [author] 20 Apr, 2014 @ 10:30am
Now with more awesomeness! Opinions on the update? Are the Dwarven spheres / spiders / Centurion working right? Could the storage get any more awesome?
Tomoko 16 Apr, 2014 @ 6:18pm
Don't do any of that retexture bullshit
Tomoko 16 Apr, 2014 @ 6:18pm
-.-
sgtwinkler  [author] 16 Apr, 2014 @ 5:03pm
The closest in-game model is the Dragonbone shield... I'll see what I can do :)
Tomoko 16 Apr, 2014 @ 4:27pm
Armor rating: 35
Weight: 10.00
Value: 5000
Fortify luck 25pts on self
(These stats are at 200/200 condition)
sgtwinkler  [author] 16 Apr, 2014 @ 7:53am
I'll see what I can do, but making new files is a whole 'nother league from changing stats, enchantments, etc. I don't have the tools to work with .nif files either, so I'll just have to try my best :)

Stats would be nice relative to other Skyrim shields of course, as well as enchantments. I'm assuming it's something like Spellbreaker?
Tomoko 15 Apr, 2014 @ 6:43pm
@sgtwinkler
If you do add the Ward of Akavir, try to make it look like the one from Morrowind with better graphics :P I'll get the enchantments and stats listed here if you want.
sgtwinkler  [author] 15 Apr, 2014 @ 6:33pm
Thanks Son of a Sailor, those are some great screenshots! Already covered the lighting, working on it now.

Yeah the path is a little sketchy, but seriously, it's built into the side of a cliff, what did you expect? Fortunately you can teleport straight to it so it really isn't a problem. I prefer to view it as lore friendly that an ancient vault positioned in cliffs above waterfalls would have some degradation of wooden platforms ;)
rip in pieces 15 Apr, 2014 @ 4:44pm
So I just started playing this mod, and I am really excited, but the path TO Daarsten and the Daarsten vault is a little bit sketchy...
Khazak 15 Apr, 2014 @ 12:22pm
Here's an album of screenshots, feel free to use these however you like. http://imgur.com/a/MBHDt You might want to redo the lighting, it feels off
sgtwinkler  [author] 15 Apr, 2014 @ 11:40am
@Swampert - Creation kit is probably about as hard as you would expect - this mod took hours and hours to make. The tricky part is little things like lighting that aren't explained - and virtually all but the professional-grade mods have lighting that is a little off, something with the ambient lighting control or thereabouts that I don't really know how to fix.

I could add more enemies, but that seems not exactly lore-friendly to have a troop of more than 7-8 bandits attempting to raid an ancient vault. Part of the reason you found it easy is that about half of the bandits are unleveled to keep out low level players from obtaining OP weapons. However, at level 67 this is not a problem. Maybe I could add some Dwemer / Draugr / ghostly guards within the actual chambers themselves. Again, input appreciated, and props if you read all this ;)
sgtwinkler  [author] 15 Apr, 2014 @ 11:40am
@Foxy - I never played Morrowind, but I like the idea of adding a shield, especially one with unique enchantments. I was thinking of adding either a bow or some armor/ring/apparel as well, input appreciated.

I'm thinking I'll expand the chamber and add in the two extra artifacts. I'm excited :)
Master Tuesday 15 Apr, 2014 @ 2:28am
While I havent produced a mod like this and thus, i've no clue how hard it is, I have to say this mod was slightly disappointing. While it provided everything it promised, it was far too easy for my liking, (Probably just because of my level 67 warlord,) and I had completed it within five minutes of playtime. Still, the lighting in Daarsten was visibly quite off, with the entire area being a uniform brightness (Looks like some of the shots from Oblivion, from what i've seen) so i'd recommend fixing that. Still, nice job on it, gave me something else to do other than repetative quests! 2.5/5
Tomoko 14 Apr, 2014 @ 11:35pm
You missed one, called The Ward Of Akavir. It's a shield from Morrowind.
sgtwinkler  [author] 14 Apr, 2014 @ 5:17pm
My computer isn't the fastest so I tend to keep settings on the lower end for smoothness, and the compression probably isn't helping either.

Hopefully people are smart enough to recognize that the graphics depend on their rig and that the speed of my computer doesn't affect the quality of the mod though :)

Your screenshots look much better than mine so I would appreciate it if you would send me some 'shots. Or don't if you don't feel like it.
Khazak 14 Apr, 2014 @ 4:12pm
I don't know if its JPEG compression or your Skyrim settings, but those screenshots are low quality. I have a pretty decent rig and can take some better quality screenshots for you if you'd like. You can check my profile of my workshop for examples.
