How to optimize the damage of the barrels? Do they work like the barrels that are found in the game?

Spawned death fog barrels on repeat for a few minutes with the full party, stuffed them all inside a larger barrel. Blew barrel up. Game is now teal, 10/10 mod.

Pft, thems rookie numbers. try 10 oil/poison maybe a few more just for fun. he he he :D i placed like 20 berrals around the god emperor guy or whoever that is while he was dealing with that lizard chick who cuts her tongue out. one fire dagger is all it took to wipe ALL of them out in one glorious explosion...along with everyone else. HA HA HA HA XD ah..good times.

Fun fact if you compact 6 oil and 6 posion barrels in the same area (not stacked) and use fire on them, if your game does nor crash or lag it napalms the entire local area.

The game doesn't like summoning or moving things into spaces where an entity already exists. Couldn't really say why, the engine just doesn't like it.

I love this mod but could someone explain why the barrels and crates don't summon on top of enemies and hurt them like you teleported them on their heads.

the damage that comes from it is kinda worth the ap though it should be atleast 4-5 then but mass oil barrel without a doubt should not be cheap with the amount of damage it dishes out early. also if 1 oil barrel will cost 1 ap i didnt see why it couldnt be 1 ap per barrel and have it be 4 turn cooldown instead to compensate the difference between the poison barrel since that causes passive poison damage so it should have to compensate with 1 more turn of cooldown. Also if the whole point is being a barrelmancer then you kinda have to play strategically setting up your barrels first then finding a way to blow them up in the next turn. So to make it balanced it has to be high ap cost so you dont just get to onehot a whole team in 1 turn without them having some sort of counterplay to your setup.

Just a note, maybe not 5 AP, because that is quite a lot, with it your whole turn would just turn into summoning barrels. I think 2-4 is a good area to stay.

had to split it in 2 post because it couldnt be more than 1000 characters long.
The deathfog barrel in general is already op as hell so making it have very high requirements is necessary. If anything its a garunteed win each time knowing it will instantly kill most enemies in game. Was kinda thinking if the mass summon deathfog barrel should be removed since 1 barrel already is enough to oneshot most bosses in game so imagine literally just putting 1 barrel per enemy charcter. Its literally just overkill at that point.

oh i did forget about the ap cost. yeah if the mass summon is gonna give that many barrels then the ap cost should definitely be raised along side the cooldown possibly reduces mass summon by 1 barrel across the board.

The ideal balance change would be:

>Barrel- 1 ap, 1 turn cooldown
>Mass summon barrel- 3 ap, 2 turn cooldown

>Oil barrel- 1 ap, 2 turn cooldown
>Mass summon oil barrel- 5 barrels,5 ap, 4 turn cooldown (basically 1 ap per barrel)

>Poison barrel- 2 ap, 2 turn cooldown
>Mass summon Poison barrel- 5 barrels, 5ap, 5 turn cooldown

Does it summon 6 or 7 barrels? If it summoned 3 or 4, and costed 3 AP, that would be quite balanced in my opinion. You could go even further, and make The non-volatile barrels (Ice, water, Blood, Etc) cost 2 or 3 AP, because they are less potent, but that may or may not be necessary.

I agree with Smokey, you've been doing an excellent job at staying on top of player concerns and feedback.

With that said, there is still one small issue I have with the mod, I believe that the Mass Summons Oil, Poison, Etc (Things capable of exploding) Should either cost 4-5 AP, or 3-4 AP and 1 SP. And for all the other Mass Summons (Water, Blood, Ice, Etc) to cost 3-4 AP.

The reason for me saying this is because the Mass Summons are either capable of spreading a certain surface across the battlefield extremely effectively and efficiently, or capable of doing damage equal to or greater than other source skills.

And as Smokey said, if you feel this is too major of a change, I would greatly appreciate a duplicate mod with these changes.

Alright, this my bad, I actually meant for all mass barrel summons to have at least a 2 turn cooldown, I forgot to follow this rule with a few of the mass summon skills. So I bumped up the cooldown on a few skills to definitely be a bit more balanced.

Just tested and it on tactician and it was amazing seeing the synergy between barrel,pistol, and bombs. I do have 1 big issue though and it is very over powered that i can just spam mass oil barrel summon. I really wish the cooldown was like 3-4 turns because i can straight up blow away a entire team with the right setup and only 1 turn of waiting is very op. The single barrel summon for oil barrel should possibly be 2 turns. Maybe you can keep this version for people who dont care about it being op and release another balanced version for people like me who actually want it to be somewhat fair for ingame. I really love the skills, i just really didnt like the spammy aspect of it. It just felt like the AI had no chance fight back since they were essentially one shotted most of the time.

This seems interesting. I wonder if i can do a GankPlank kind of build from a character in league of legends. There is a mod called weapons expansion that adds pistols to the game and i wonder if attacking barrels with a pistol will allow me to consistently blow up the barrels for major damage. Will test this out in game and come back to maybe talk about results. Anyway thanks for the mod really like the idea.

I have found the Skill Trader NPC in Fort Joy. But I can not speak with her. I can kill, examine, and pickpocket. She does however, have all the skill books on her.
