you can have it in your mods list but cant enable it

Wasn't there a way to make it "global" so that you don't have to add individual truck names to the mod? I remember reading somewhere that you could use a certain generic "name", a global variable that the game translates as "put it in any truck", in your mod and it would allow it to be used on any vehicle without the need for an update.
The reason I ask is that there are a few tuning part mods that haven't been updated in a very long time. But you can still use them on any new truck mods out there. SiSL's Cabin Accessories is a prime example. He only updates it with new content or bug fixes, but never has a need to make it compatible with new trucks. Yet you can still add his stuff to almost anything.
