@REXURAL31 - What is conflict issues or error message it gives?
wabbithunta 22 Nov, 2023 @ 11:03am
@REXURAL31 what is the actual conflict?
I use this mod, along with around 800 plus other mods and have never ever had any issues at all.

So you must have a mod that has an issue with this one, or is it a load order issue?
You say you've checked all 175 mods, have you tried it by adding them one at a time to see what conflicts? I bet you haven't.

JK: - " Dear author of the Gas Works mod (by JK). Your mod conflicts with my other mods! I checked all 175 mods and only this mod causes a conflict in the game! But I like him, I'm used to playing with him! Please fix this mod please!!!! "

@YT8HmH7 - Yeah, full replacement is ok. Just mention that behaviour in the description.
YT8HmH7 16 Jun, 2023 @ 9:46am
@JK Is complete overwrite considered a conflict? It's essentially going to be the same thing, but slightly improved. Same rule, more capacity, more levels, and more of them spawned (0.1 is one per huge map).
If I change the filename and make it completely independent, anyone installing both mods are going to be confused by two identical industries with different specs and behaviour. So please clarify.
As for the credit, of course.
P.S. I haven't made the decision yet, for now just asking for possibility.

@YT8HmH7 - Yes, but make sure yours doesn't cause any conflicts with this mod and include a credit to me in the mod and workshop description. Thanks.

May I include it into my Real Industrial Chains mod? Not as a dependency, but a complete built-in copy. (I'm also going to add levels and fix missing textures. Right now I made only a support for using both mods.)

@JK - Yes, solved now. Sorry, I'm new to all that "Mod Universe" . Thank you very much!

@posti_p - Do you have a section just for placing Industries? It should listed in there after the standard ones. I think you need the built-in Sandbox mode mod enabled for that section to be listed.

Is it possible, that it doesn't work anymore with the most recent update of TF2? I installed, configured but it does not show up as asset. Others do correctly. Any advice?

@wabbithunta oh that is work
sorry for mistake

@3FREEHONGKONG
Yes you can, we used to have it in huge storage tanks where I lived. It was called "Town Gas". And then North Sea Gas took over (they had to add an odour to it - Mecaptan - to give it a smell, as it was basically odourless, unlike coal gas)

Upshot is to add a mod(prop) to this one, and dump piles of coal either in it or next to it in storage areast, along with huge storage tanks for the gas. (the small ones on the mod don't do it justice
I've made a small set-up on a map of mine like this, using this mod and a few others
briansyston 22 Aug, 2022 @ 7:22am
I think it needs a pile of coal in the middle !

If it's not too much work, you could copy and paste the code from the Goods without plastic con file into the gas works con file, and unless there are variable names that need changing it should work fine.

@Gary Gehirntumor - Looks like it doesn't have any upgrades coded in it. I don't remember if that was deliberate, or if I just got it working and didn't think about.
Cheeseman 16 Aug, 2022 @ 8:30pm
Is there a particular reason they do not upgrade to 400?

Maybe it's one hell of a task, but have you thought about creating alternative versions of the vanilla industries with an architecture style more fitting for the early game? Some of them just look so out of place in a 1850 start. I think this should be part of the game already, the design of the industries (not only their size) should change with the era.

finally some new industries, thanks :hardhat:

Now if someone could make a gasometer [to work as a depot] all you'd need then is a pipeline running from the gasworks to the gasometer, as this would make it look more realistic.

This is cool.
Also make me wonder if it could be done as just a Coal or Oil soak for something like a powerplant or steam generators like used in New York.
Now i'm no modder so anyone feel free for that.

I've been thinking about this for ages! It's annoying that the only thing to use coal for in this game is making steel. This adds so much more utility, and two coal to one fuel seems well-balanced to me. :steamthumbsup:

Looks nice!
