@moonracer, late response but yes please feel free

I tried to poke around and figure out how to spawn cooked versions of these jars, but unfortunately I don't know. I'm not very good with Lua or scripting either, so that doesn't help. If I figure it out, is it okay for me to upload a new version?
Kickdok  [author] 25 Aug, 2022 @ 2:02pm
@Francisco, i have been out of modding for an eternity so i am afraid nothing will happen.
Francisco 20 Aug, 2022 @ 12:41pm
Can you upload to the latest version?

Which option changes spawn rate? "CrateCannedFood", 8,? Changing the 8 lower would change spawn rate?
JackOverkill 23 Jan, 2022 @ 5:21pm
the only thing preventing me to use this mod s the jars aint cooked
yallfather 20 Jan, 2022 @ 6:48am
Seconded on the uncooked front. For them to be properly preserved, they should spawn cooked.
Replica 10 Jan, 2022 @ 7:06pm
All the jars I've found have spawned with uncooked food? If the jars aren't cooked then they don't get preserved, which sorta defeats the whole point of the jarred food spawns

@kickdok, ok makes sense. I thought they lasted longer than 3 months.
Kickdok  [author] 4 Dec, 2021 @ 1:13pm
@postal, the food in the jars do not last forever, i think they go for 3 months so if you modify your start then the food will be rotten yes.
Postal 4 Dec, 2021 @ 11:47am
They all spawn with rotton food :/

@Gregory Chunch you would have to keep your gherkins for quite a while for the lid to rust, like few years. In my home we have preserved food every year - lid is more likely to rust outside than inside the jar. But we do replace the lids - roughly 10% if ever get replaced every season, mostly due to thread getting screwed.
Plus not everything is preserved with vinegar. Strawberries, for this little example, are not.
So it's not an argument. Lid should still be given back.

In real life you want to sanitise jars or else they will serve no purpose. I've reused lids more than once without dying or getting ill.

@Volod In real life, lids must be discarded after so long when used in food preservation due to rust and deterioration of the lid seal in the presence of acidic liquids (vinegar). This is why lids are not returned
Volod 9 Oct, 2021 @ 2:46pm
The lids do not return to the pocket after opening the can of canned food, sad: (

Perhaps this is due to the fact that I tested it on a can of canned bacon, which is essentially not in vanilla and this canned food is added through the mod, I have to try testing it on vanilla canned food

I examined the mod file, but everything seems to be correctly spelled out there (although I am not a modder, I cannot know for sure)

@TrefanSVK I'm pretty sure I've found them in kitchens before but Indie Stone just released that new update to IWBUMS that includes a loot spawn overhaul so maybe that's what's going on? Hoping the author updates this soon cause I'd love to keep using it
TrefanSVK 17 Aug, 2021 @ 3:47am
I couldn't find any jarred food in house kitchens and upon looking at the mod's distributions file it seems to me that it is set to spawn only in commerce kitchens (restaurants, diners)... which are the only places where I found the jarred food.

Is this working alright with 41.51 what with the changes to loot distribution?
dannway 13 Jul, 2021 @ 6:29am
Is this mod compatible with Realistic Canning?
Naked Buffalo 5 Jul, 2021 @ 2:57am
This is what I'll be needing when they do the gas pump update. Cheers.

Nppl_Lckr_of_Justice 3 May, 2021 @ 4:06am
Do I need to create a new game or it will work on a current playthrough?
I'm already using the 2 bottling Mod by Alec.
