This mod appears to be broken.

Nothing happens after pressing 'Show me that list!' ;-;
Where it should show Cost: ... there is nothing, as well.

I like playing iron man but I get tired when litteraly everyone sucks. Like How can any realm stay stable when all courtiers are all between piss poor or rarely avarage at anything?!

@Hankyspanky ah, alright! thank you for replying, and sorry for the later reply. i can't wait to see what your refined idea is!

@You Fools, I Thank you! I will not be updating this mod, but I do intend to create something a bit more refined in the future. In the mean time, I recommend using the mod, Men of Talent. It does something similar but is more balanced.

@Hankyspanky

I congratulate you on your mod but tastes are personal and are just tastes.

I feel Men of Talent generates more "normal" characters and one of the things I abhor in the game is skill inflation. I think a 18 today should be a very good and rare skill with a 21 being almost Godlike. I hope future DLC don't inflate the stats more and keep them in line with the current distribution, even if when abused, already Godlike stats are possible. I went to great lengths to place some sense in this with my own mod and I am content with what I achieved.

All in all, best of luck for your mod and I'll keep an eye on anything else you'll release in the future!

It looks like Men of Talent is a similar mod, although I believe this one to be more fleshed out and balanced. Men of Talent allows you to recruit talented courtiers for very low costs, while this mod attempts to force you to weigh your options. Localisation is of course a preference but from what I could see in the screenshots, it is lacking in flavour (which is perfectly understandable). With this mod you're not recruiting courtiers with godlike skills. You recruit courtiers in a range of 10 - 30 of their skill. You can get lucky and get a strong courtier but most of the time, you'll get an average of 15 - 20 usually resulting in a better than average courtier. The downside is that your vassals will be upset at this replacement as well as the steep gold cost. What are some of the outcomes that could be better balanced in your opinion? I would like to improve this as much as possible!

Thanks! I'll take a look

It's called Men of Talent.

@Cardolam What mod is that? I made this because I couldn't find one like this.

What's the other mod called?
Cardolam 2 May, 2021 @ 10:43am
There's another mod that does exactly what this do but it is much more balanced. In your place I would balance out more the outcomes, instead of recruiting super characters with godlike skills.

Excellent idea! No need to suffer from stupid advisors now. I haven’t tried it with tribal governments, but the cost for feudal government seems justified.
