Good News Everyone, with Goanimate60 & JonkoXL help the Salona crash as well as the language issues that cause CTD have been fixed. I just have to upload the update now.

@Typhoon I just tested the mod myself and it runs smoothly on my end & I did use the workshop version since its the public one. So sadly I don't understand why you would be getting a error code when you launch the game. Does this error happen with any other mod ?

only the S.P.Q.R 3.0... and after the first crash i download the Rome Rerostered v2.3 and the Factions Rebalanced mod and tried each one by one with the spqr .. but i got the same result

wanted thank u for the helpful info on adding the senate as playable.. had the whole of it right other then the superfaction part.. honestly never knew about it did this kinda stuff in the old school totalwars.. wanted unite rome the old way lol

@thoms5499 I'm sorry to hear that, I suspected that it would work on all platforms but I only have a windows PC so I couldn't test to see if it would work on mac. Do other mods work fine on mac ?

@jakehaugerud I believe It is possible to add more roman family members but you would have to create new characters to do so which I don't remember how to do. Also the way I did it was combing all the roman family factions into the S.P.Q.R faction which in turn kept the family trees divided up.

Love that in the united Rome campaign there are three separate family branches for the Romans! Is there any way to add more at the beginning, to have even more starting families? Is this something I can easily do in the game files? If so, could you tell me how to do it?

That would make sense because I think that was the patch that made me have to change the S.P.Q.R from a superfaction to a normal faction. They used to be playable as a superfaction in OG and Original RR.

I think it was a recent change, I took a look at the modding documentation and it looks like Feral only opened up the senate to be switched to a different faction with the 2.0.4 patch.

It's actually pretty easy -- I got it working on the vanilla campaign. First you do the stuff you already did to make the Senate playable (add victory conditions, temples). Then in descr_strat, you replace "superfaction romans_senate" with a faction of your choice ("superfaction romans_julii" for example), and make sure the Senate gets a superfaction entry and the new superfaction doesn't get one. Then you have to go to the bottom of the file where the superfaction setup section is, and also replace that "superfaction romans_senate" with the faction of your choice.

This gets you missions. But to get offices, you have to go to descr_senate in the main data directory and replace the two "romans_senate" references to "romans_julii" or whoever for Senate offices to be assigned.

And BAM -- now you can play the SPQR and still get missions and offices. You need your new superfaction to be an existing faction somewhere on the map because if it dies, you lose the Senate mechanics.

@grandadmiraljello That might be possible though with how the senate missions and offices work it'll be very difficult since you would have to switch the S.P.Q.R and one of the families to be the superfaction wile making all the missions and offices work for the S.P.Q.R. I have seen mods add there own superfaction with missions ( "I believe they added missions but I haven't checked in a wile") but I have no idea how they did it.

I see that the Senate missions don't work because you can't play a superfaction -- what if, on the United Rome campaign, one of the other Roman factions was the superfaction? Make the Julii, Brutii, or Scipii the superfaction and them stick them out of the way somewhere, like on Corisca. That way the united S.P.Q.R. can still get missions and Senate offices.

Is this possible?

@ZellA That is a good question, I did put files that add other languages into the mod but maybe I need more files to make it work properly. I will have to see if I can find a solution so that this can be played in every language the vanilla offered as that was the intention.

My native language is English and its the only language I speak so sadly I won't be able to know how well things are translated but ill do my best to make it work. I am planning on making a update when I can that fixes the Salona issue and adds some quality of life improvements so well i'm at that ill try to fix the language issue. Thank you for bringing this issue forward :)

Any idea why it CTD when played in German Language? The game wont even load.
I mean i can deal with the english but i prefer my homelanguage :)

I don't know whether uploading the change will break any existing save games though.
But you could always release a separate DLC patch or something!

I was wondering about your problem the other day with the Salona settlement.
Have you tried deleting the map.rwm file in the campaign folder and starting a new campaign?
Maybe it fixes your issue :)

@Skald Thank you for letting me know. Sadly I don't know how to fix it because the logs won't show me what causes the crash. It also makes no sense because it works on the other 3 with no issues.

(I highly Recommend coping the (data) file from (Steam\steamapps\common\Total War ROME REMASTERED\Contents\Resources\Data\data) then making a new folder called SPQR in (AppData\Local\Feral Interactive\Total War ROME REMASTERED\Mods\My Mods) & then paste the (data) in that SPQR folder before modifying the file below)

If you would like to modify it yourself the path is (Steam\steamapps\common\Total War ROME REMASTERED\Contents\Resources\Data\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign\descr_strat) in there you will have to move the (roman_senate) from non-playable to playable. Then you have to go through the 3 roman factions and delete the line that says (superfaction roman_senate). After that if you want to give them victory conditions you gotta go to (descr_win_conditions) which is in the same path (Steam\steamapps\common\Total War ROME REMASTERED\Contents\Resources\Data\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign\descr_win_conditions).

I haven't checked the mod page in a while so I cant say if someone has made a mod for that but I remember it not being to complicated to modify to just make them playable.

It’s mostly possible though with one of the updates they made for RR the SPQR was no longer just add them to the unlocked factions section and play. You have to modify the faction to no longer be the faction that gives missions and controls the senate for them to function as a playable faction. Also if I remember correctly they may also only have access to one or two temples without any additions.
