dont work

Can you separate this into multiple mods for compatibility with other mods? One for purple Macedon, one for Egypt unit roster and one for Egypt family tree? Thank you for your awesome work.
Riekopo 16 Nov, 2021 @ 9:33pm
Is the new Egypt roster a copy of one of the other Greek factions?

@Perfidious Albion The mod doesn't touch any files from Alexander. It re-textures the Macedon units based of the Vanilla game only. I cannot re-create your exact issue so at present I am unable to help.

I get the crash due to Alexander's general file being missing. Checked local files and reacquired 7 missing ones but the crash still happens. Does anyone have a solution?

@White Wolf hey, thanks for response and update, works fine now. Do you have any plans on adding the Hoplites from Alexander skirmishers, archers and the hypaspists, Alexander skinned phalanx and royal guard in the future? I had a mod that doesnt work anymore wich had added theese units and replaced some.

@de_tape the mod has now been updated. I was having a issue with some errors due to new formatting introduced by feral. :)

Will there be a version for 2.0.2? Seems to crash instantly when starting new campaign

Thanks, cheers!

@Kamakaziwarlord it's pretty straight forward. You need to unpack the texture files first, check my Carthage mod as I provided details for doing just that to someone else. As for the actual units etc, the old Rome Total War forums are a gold mine of tutorials if you are new to modding, be sure to back up key files first though. Happy Modding :)

I plan to play around making new units, so I will try to repaint textures, thanks for info. Btw, did you use any tutorial or just tried playing around files till you found everything you need?
White Wolf  [author] 15 May, 2021 @ 2:17am
@KamakaziWarlord, Yes I had to repaint by hand, primarily the cloth textures and not the armour. For this I used a mix of both GIMP and Photoshop, both are fantastic tools if you fancy trying to make some of your own textures.
GreyWolf 15 May, 2021 @ 1:56am
Btw, White Wolf, how did you recolor Macedon? You needed to re-paint all the textures by hand?
GreyWolf 13 May, 2021 @ 1:03am
Dark vanilla Macedon was more badass, but thats just my opinion

@Lokemotiv, Sorry about the Carthage mod. I made a small update, should now be live again.
Lokemotiv 12 May, 2021 @ 7:53am
What happened to your Carthage mod!? :(

Wonderful. I would suggest you, though, that you could maybe rename names like Ptolemy and Lysimachus to Ptolemaios and Lysimachos, to make then more language-independent (and closer to the main Greek form).
Also, could it be possible to change the Egyptian faction icon? Black and yellow/gold colours are great in any case, in my opinion.

@White Wolf - Thanks a lot for the answer!

I like this mod, making Macedon a bit more colourful is a nice touch and using Hellenic units in Egypt looks like it would be fun, but I haven't tried that properly yet.

Have you looked into how it changes the balance between the factions in the long term? Given the Egyptians and Selucids are more similar in their roster now.
White Wolf  [author] 9 May, 2021 @ 2:55am
@Basileus_PL Thanks for your feedback. I will consider some of the suggestions.
As for the textures, you need to unpack them, you can use the tool downloaded on the total war Center page to do so.The tool is called IWTE and the link is http://www.twcenter.net/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=2741
You will also need an image editor, I use GIMP and Photoshop. To use it, run the IWTE_launch batch file (place this in the games textures folder), you should create a folder on your desktop called dump. In IWTE go to the top right and it should have an option to dump remaster textures. once you click it locate the characters/textures folder and then the second option you pick your dump folder it will dump the textures ready for editing.

How did you opened base game textures? I have few ideas, but I am not able edit base game textures... When I open them, I have some errors. Btw, very nice mod  - the best of all "diadochi mods" for Egypt. The only thing which I would change is removal of chariots from Ptolemaic Egypt (they didn't used them at all) and I would add "small elephants" and some sort of Galatian sword infantry (Ptolemies hired them quite often)

Let me answer both questions,

@AchillesTheGreat, this is not a stolen mod, I wanted to do this since the announcement of the game. The other two mods literally got released around the same time, nice to see others had a similar idea but I will admit I was frustrated not to be the first to release as I had issues with the unit cards and had to redo some. But if you actually look at the mods themselves, you will notice differences in unit choices/colours etc. So feel free to pick your favourite. :)

@Skragglenuts the main difference in this mod from the other two currently on the workshops is that I have removed all Egyptian units from the roster, no more Nile or Nubian units, I only kept the chariots for fun, but technically Egypt had long since stopped using these in warfare. Elephants have been added but are only available once a hidden resource region is controlled.
DeterminedPotato 8 May, 2021 @ 8:48pm
ummm this looks like a stolen mod. theres already one that does this
Skragglenuts 8 May, 2021 @ 7:15pm
whats the difference between this mod and the other mod that does the exact same things as this?
Giovanille 8 May, 2021 @ 2:19pm
I don't know if it was you who chose the purple or if you imported it from "Alexander" directly, but in any case, your purple is much better than the original (less flashy). I'm talking about your images because I haven't tried the mod yet. I'll tell you that after.
In fact, there is already a mod that offers the two changes you suggest and I'm already on it right now.
